I modded Alistair myself and I think he turned out fine. I didn't actuallly change much, though, so I think he still looks like Alistair. The name of the mod where you can get the option to knock out an Alistair insisting on killing the Archdemon is IRS-Alistair. I also have a run from before I had that mod. The only way I found that a romanced Alistair will not kill the Archdemon is to leave him behind at the gate. I haven't taken that world state into DAI so I don't know what happens there. Some mods are kay, some mods aren't.

BevH Other than being a bit more shiny, what did this do? I changed his complexion to a younger looking one and gave his skintone a slightly different color. Also, I made his hair blonder and gave him blue eyes. Here's the same shot, but before I modded him:

So, there I was, planning a Surana Warden that would do the Ultimate Sacrifice. And I was on the fence about whether or not it would be a Zevran romance or an Alistair romance run, as I have been Wardens together in one PT, and married in another as King and Queen. I was trying to let it evolve naturally, Zevran started laying it on pretty thick, and Alistair still hadn't given me the rose. (this PT, I wasn't looking at guides so fewer approval points all around.) At this point, although Surana is licking her wounds after Zev said it was just fun, I think she has Alistair in the "Brother Friend Zone" but Alistair is now coming on strong; a little too late, I'm afraid. But now... I have to break it off with Alistair soon, I'm sure. I'm dreading it. Oh, woe is me, fellow Alistair fans. Will it hurt? Will he be mean about the breaking it off? I just remember how mad Anders was at me in DA2, it was a big argument breaking up with him...

Alistair expresses all anger towards Morrigan. Remember that banter he has with her? Morrigan: Am I to understand that you two have ended your relationship? Alistair: Shut up! That is none of your business. Morrigan: What? No questions allowed? You do not wish your motivations- Alistair: I said shut up! I will run this sword through you, I'm not joking. Morrigan: Oh, I see. Most serious then. Alistair: This discussion is over.

Ugh guys... Ugh. The feels you guys are making me feel, and I haven't even done it yet.
But it's better this way. Surana's going to put Alistair on the throne and leave him behind to protect him, just like she protected Jowan, and soul kerplode with an arch demon. And Alistair won't have to feel the hurt of his love dying.
At least that's the plan. I'm terrible at the idea of a Ultimate Sacrifice. But I think I crafted a mage that doesn't trust Morrigan, and that has helped a lot.

I've only done it that one time because I wanted to see the political marriage. Frankly, I don't really remember it much because, well, Alistiar looks so sad... I do kind of remember, though, that he wasn't at all opposed to the idea of the marriage, just surprised. So, no, he was not angry at the warden.

I never liked anything about this character.
- I don't like his hair. That was in fashion around 2000. Doesn't really go with the medieval/fantasy setting of DA:O. He doesn't fit the setting in my eyes otherwise either. - I don't like the tone of his voice. - He is almost camp-like feminine at times - He is not that funny - He is whiny
I was sad i could not exchange him for Ser Gilmore.
Him and the witch were the two characters i never wanted with me in my party.

I don't think I ever broke up with Alistair either, though I did have to beat him off with a stick during one of my Zev romance runs. Just when I thought I finally had it fixed, Al's status changed to "love" and Zev was friend-zoned. Doh! So, I had to reload and beat him off again a little more forcefully.

I'd romanced Alistair twice before, this is my 3rd play through. And I really wanted to do the Ultimate Sacrifice this game to have a different world state. If you romance Alistair and bring him to final battle, he will sacrifice himself and I didn't want him to die. So, I was planning for Surana to either be romance free or maybe fall for Zevran. Still, it was hard not to flirt with Alistair, I flirted exactly once because it seemed like more of a joke flirt than a real flirt. And I was just nice to him the rest of the time, I was polite about the Rose he gave me; who wants to be mean about the gift?! My Surana had gone all the way with Zevran, I go over to talk to Alistair and he has the, "Um, are you serious with Zevran? Because if not...do you like me?" talk. So, it was a bit like a ninjamance I had to shut down, except that my experience with him from the prior two games told me what was happening, which is why I stayed polite and friendly 99% of the time. It was just one flirt! So there. I had to break up with Alistair to make sure he lived. Isn't that the most okay reason EVAR

Is that one of the Feast day gifts? Wish there was a scene for that. Alistair and playing puppets, aww. The way romance flags work, I'm already forgotten. I think. Unless somehow the mean Morrigan banter happens. But I'm almost to Orzamarr a d burning through potions hard as it is, and can't keep dragging that witch around, especially now that Surana doesn't like her anymore.

Yep, it is. For all the Feast Day gifts, after you've given them to whomever, they are still in your inventory and can be "used" by the person who owns them. So, when wandering about, open inventory, switch to Alistair and have him use the puppet. He'll play with it for a bit. For Morrigan, if she uses her Alistair voodoo doll, Al cries out like he's been hit or poked or whatever. I'm not sure, but he might even get a real injury. I love Shale playing with her pet rock. Iirc, you can rename it something other than Herbert.

they actually do things with them? I've given them before, it never had them "use them." I was saving them this play through for Awakenings. The game is so short,it's hard to get the approval up. Especially Oghren the wanna be dead beat dad.

They sure do! Also, Feast Day stuff doesn't transfer over to Awakening, so better to use them now. Re: Oghren, the higher you have his approval in DAO, the less approval you gain from gifts in DAA (his approval is bugged). Ironically, my Orlesian Warden had little problem while imported ones always struggle with it. Which reminds me, I have a mod installed that tells you what gifts are for who in DAA. If you are concerned about gaining approval with everyone, I would suggest installing it.

I've only played Awakenings once, with my Queen Cousland, and so only vaguely remember the importance of approval. It's not like you can romance them, and it's not like DA2 where they'll agree to support you against their first instinct on a decision. I think I want to be kind to Anders; this will be the first time I interact with Awakening Anders AFTER 3 plays of DA2, and I really wantto pay attention to him. And I want Oghren to not be a dead beat dad cuz, I mean...come on. The other tricky thing I remember is avoiding the riot. And Justice and Sigrun will try to kill you for siding with the Architect. I'll miss that flirtatious banter from husband King Alistair, that's for sure...
