I bought Dirt:Rally, a very good rally simulator. I picked a 700 horsepower 800kg mid-engined all wheel drive Peugeot Group-B rally car and raced up the Pikes Peak international hill climb track, up to 4300 meters / 14k ft. I'm racing with a real wheel, H-shifter and pedals + clutch in a cockpit, it felt absolutely amazing. Going up to 260 km/h // 165 mph around blind corners in crazy heights, always near the limit while trying to remember all of the 156 corners and while having a turbocharged 700 hp engine screaming into my ears - a beautiful symphony of total madness. Also the graphics are superb. I can wholeheartedly recommend the game to anyone who loves cars. Agreed. Dirt Rally is exceptional, one of the highlights of gaming history for me. Haven't played it in a while, but was totally addicted back then. It's hard but so hugely rewarding, every little skill improvement is so satisfying. Actually had one of my best runs while intoxicated: Looks so easy if you're used to other racing games, but Dirt Rally is realistic and brutal. It was often called the Dark Souls of racing games. What's your favourite car so far? Mine's the Stratos. I liked Grid 2 much more than Dirt 2 or 3. Same developers tho!

I liked Grid 2 much more than Dirt 2 or 3. Same developers tho! I didn't like Dirt 2&3 a lot either (and actually, after replaying the series, I can't say I liked Dirt 1 any more than them). Don't be fooled by Dirt Rally being made by the same developer, it's a vastly different game. It has similar graphics and it has the name, but that's where the similarities end. Dirt 1-3 are arcade (or "simcade", if you wish) racers, Dirt Rally is a pretty brutal and focussed sim racer that completely avoids any spectacle that Dirt 2 was so notorious for. It also contains amazing true-to-life recreations of real world rally tracks, in stark contrast to the other Dirt games. It is much closer to Richard Burns Rally than to its namesakes and took the rally sim community by surprise. edit:

While cleaning I found my CD copy of King's Bounty: Crossroads and decided to install it. Getting the same error after 3 reinstalls and doing all known fixes, I gave up. Since - because of KB - I've been in a mood for turn-based strategy, decided to reinstall one I abandoned long time ago. Heroes of Might and Magic VI. Uplay installed, game installed, I started it up to realise why I didn't like its menu in the past. But no matter. After closing, Uplay decided to play hard to get on restart. "Unable to connect" every time. Annoyed, and with previous dissapointment from my - short - session with HoMMVI in mind, decided to uninstall. And it suddenly was able to connect! Now - when I decided to abandon you - you remember how to go online, hmnmnmn? At that point I was so annoyed I channeled my inner Eric Cartman, said "Screw you guys, I'm going home!" and started up Diablo 3. Got to Paragon level 41 and finally unlucked Kanai's Cube. Of course once I figured out how to do it, I changed all my items to legendary. Because why not. Might try my luck tomorrow with King's Bounty: Dark Side, which I know for sure works. I had no patience for it today.

Gave the Rise of Tomb Raider a go. Still have an unreasonable amount of hatred for Lara, so much time was spent trying to drive her off ledges to no avail. Had a hilarious one where she went to the side instead of up and fell down. Except she didn't go horizontal, but stayed vertical. So once she hit the cliff below and bounced off, she looked like a cartoon character. Granted my amusement of the deaths will probably come in handy once the game gets harder. Or maybe it will wear off. Other than that it's fairly decent for now. Stopped at the first camp, because sleep and stuff. Unlockable outfits sounds promising as is the temptation to send her out in just a t-shirt. But she gets to keep her jacket...for now. Looking forwards to get more potent guns and molotov cocktails, since she's far more agreeable once she starts shooting the place up.

I finished my most re ent RoTK 13 PT. I was mistaken about a few things in my last post.
The PT ran from "February" 190 to "August" 205 CE. So this PT actually covered more ground than usual, despite 15 years being a short time in which to unify China. While the Warlords tried to depose Dong Zhuo, suffered losses and squabbled amongst themselves in the north, I built a power base in the south, starting in Jiangling in Jing.
My last recap ended in 200, just before our alliance with Cao Cao expired. I did just as I said, grabbing 8 of his 9 cities and their dependent towns. The ninth was snatched by Yuan Shao. I actually conquered the city, but his troops started attacking first, and we were in an alliance. Now that I know how that works, I'll let them fail next time and clean up the mess.
I "installed the Han Emperor" in September 200. He named me King in October. In November he stepped aside, ending the Han Empire. Yue Fei became the first Emperor of the Song Dynasty. (You get to choose from a long list of names. Seeing as Fei was actually a general from the much later Southern Song, it just seemed appropriate.)
I reorganized my empire and invaded Yi and Nanman. I executed Liu Zhang for being a right prick up till the end. I also executed his son, who continued the fight in his name. So ended the line of Liu in Yi in 201.
I spent a year strengthening our military empire-wide, setting very difficult goals, all of which were met. Then, when our treaty expired, I invaded Ma Teng's Liang. The Liang are fierce and their territory huge, so it took some months to traverse. They fell in 204. During this campaign, Yuan Shao passed away of natural causes, leaving Yuan Shang ruling Jizhou in his stead.
As soon as Liang fell, Shang dropped our alliance and initiated hostilities (pretty standard when only two forces are left). I'd prepared for this for years, so they had no chance. I mobilized over 300K troops (of my 2 million) and turned his offensive into a desperate defense. As I road from distant Liang, the first 200K took Jibei (that ninth city!) and started crossing the Yellow River at Jibei, Puyang and Guandu. Once I arrived in Changan, I mobilized 110K troops and crossed into the north. We crushed them, subduing towns and taking every city. I executed both living Yuans (Shang, then Xi) for prolonging the war needlessly. In 205, after less than a year of fighting, they were extinguished. So ended the Yuans.
This was the first PT in which I had children reach maturity. My eldest son, Yue Tong, has amazing stats at 15 and will one day be a great emperor. His younger brother, He (pronounced almost as Huh) isn't quite as broadly gifted, but he's a good leader and very intelligent. He'll make a fine Grand Marshall. I did my best to see this happen, visiting the wife several times with gifts in the very first month. I'm glad it worked out, so I could see the result. Fei did eventually take a second wife, the daughter of a friend who arranged the pairing. I never saw her again, though, so no more kids. (Unless you have the game set to include female officers, any wives married mid-game seem to disappear after the wedding.)
I can't decide whether I want to keep playing RoTK, or jump into something else. I am in the process of moving, so I'll find my gaming interrupted very soon, regardless. For my next RTK, I'll need to bump up the challenge some more. The difficulty is highly customizable, which allows for interesting challenges..

I took my Cobra 3 out to the Abrogo system for some reason... now I am stranded (ELITE: Dangerous) Wow the graphics look really nice, other than getting stranded is it fun to play? Oh yes. It does have one HELLUVA learning curve, however, as it is a very complex space flight sim. (This is why I thought I was stranded, just had to sell some of my ship's heavier parts & upgrade my FSD) It is incredibly huge and has RPG elements; Factions, law enforcement, exploration. Also, the game was out for about 2 years before a new, hostile alien race was discovered. Best thing about it is that if you are lucky & skilled, you CAN escape pirates I highly recommend it

How the hell would you ever explore it all and keep track of where you have been?????? Is flying/upgraing your ship and combat complex (I am on PC)? You have to do cargo runs, etc missions (they're varying) to earn the money to upgrade / buy better ships at space stations. The last time I saw this on Twitch stream (last year), the player didn't manually control his ship; he instructed the ship A.I (ASTRA) to dock, to go to warp, etc. Yes, he just speaks and the game will respond. He can ask questions too. There're one or two hitches giving vocal commands but mostly it works smoothly. I think there was no avatar during "landing" missions, just the vehicle which he used to destroy specific targets. Most of the time, he's travelling from place to place. I got bored watching him. That's how it is if one is able to traverse space in RL, it's just hours and hours of waiting to get there. But in the meantime, you would be able to stand up and do other stuff. However, this is a game so it's long minutes waiting to get there as you jumped from one star system to another star system. I like the scope, I like the ships, I like the voice pack but there's not enough meat (story, etc) in it to catch my eye.

Hey melbella this looks like a step up from Rebel Galaxy!!!!
Yeah, no kidding! That's a little TOO big for me though!
Here is my "galaxy" map, though it's only one sector. Each name is a star system. I like how they're all named after mythological characters. The threat rating for each system is based on your ship upgrade level. Pretty much everywhere other than the starting system and where I'm at now are still "Extreme."
Here is my crazy Aunt Juno, who got me into all this mess. And finally, the Trell AI thing/avatar.

Played some HZD again only did one side quest namely Acquired Taste where i meet the strangest guy ( Brin ) in HZD that wants me to get some fluids from machines to drink ... talking about weird right. After that i did one errand namely The Old Acquaintance where i have to save Gera's husband and where i also have to kill a few Tramplers to get to the good stuff *hik*. And on a side note in one playthrough just for fun because i already knew that it was not possible i tried to kill a Tallneck. I tried to kill it with tripwires the disc gun of a Tunderjaw a Ravager gun but with no result the Tallneck laughed at me an moved on. ( i wanted to post a picture of a laughing Tallneck but i could not find one )

Gave HoMMVI another chance, since in the end I did not uninstall it. The only reason is Dark Elf campaign, which includes - arguably - my favourite character from whole series Raelag. Moved a bit in his mission before I got annoyed at the interface (I'll survive it, for Raelag) and started Steam. Installed King's Bounty: Dark Side (still not certain if I want to play succubuss or vampire) and all 3 Borderlands game (mostly for loyalty bonuses), then started Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Playing as Athena. I'll need some time to get used to controls and combat again But the mayhem... mayhem is worth it. Then my daily dose of WoW. Killed one of weekly bosses on all my lvl110 characters. Got one legendary on Rogue, which is one of the best for class. Also one legendary on Demon Hunter, but I already have the ones I wanted for her, so off to the storage! And off to put all my things on ah again! Almost have enough for Necromancer pack. I'd have before, but bought subscription first.

More Tomb Raider today. As expected my hate for Lara has melted once she embraced her inner sociopath. They will die, they will all die. Ha ha ha. It's not quite fondness yet, but closer on the neutral scale rather than dislike. So it's fun to see her leap around, but I still chuckle when she falls face down on the rocks. Which is kind of good, because getting her to jump onto ladders is way harder than it should be. Like they are covered in something that repels her. Maybe the baddies should borrow some?
Oddly enough, the bow seems a lot more damaging than the guns, but the pistol is quite handy. The assault rifle does nothing for me on the other hand, except it's a useful panic button when beasts attack. The beasts by the way, seem to be made of titanium or something. A wolf takes at least two head-shots with a pistol but the average human takes one. And the wolfs are far more tricky, pretending to be dead, then leaping at Lara and biting her in the shin so she has to beat them off with an axe. Or unload a whole assault rifle clip into their bodies. Like damn, you should have overtaken the place by now and started an animal kingdom or something. Even the gentle deer takes two arrows. Which sucked for one of them, because I only hit it with one arrow before losing it. So it limped around for like about half an hour, bleeding from the bottom, until it stumbled upon me again and I could give it the sweet release of death.
Been kind of binge playing. I quite like the story and despite my grievances with her, Lara is for the most part rather fun to play. Like other than ladders, she's got superb balance and excellent response time. And she's also tiny. Like she barely reaches the shoulders of the people she meets. Or maybe they are just huge, a native trait or something. Was tickled to learn that Jacobs voice actor is voiced by the same guy who did Maurice Chavez in Vice City. And he's handsome to boot. And very stabby, so much stabbing. I love it. Even ended the session by getting my own knife. So next session, somebody will get stabbed. Hopefully.
Was going to share an action shot, but forum said no. Or well it said no when I put the image in spoilers and I will not be coerced into this kind of rudeness. So no zip lining today.
