Diablo is still trolling me. I'm down to only 2 uniques left to kill and they both refuse to spawn. I've run through the dungeon with my Crusader at least a half dozen times and my Demon Hunter once. Sigh. Stupid RNG.
Going to play something else for a while, but I don't know what.

phoray Where did you get your game from? GoG or Steam or somewhere else? And do you have any patches installed? --- Element Zero Thanks for the tips Tried out the rifle, but it said non lethal at the top. Which was weird since when I shot from it it seemed quite lethal. Same as when I had to beat a fellow to death with the butt of it. It took a bit longer but pretty sure the guy wont be walking again. But think I'll be sticking with pistol and sword, since hit or miss I usually miss so having something short/long and pointy always comes in handy. And thanks for the CoOp tips. Was planning on avoiding them since I don't think my friend wants to join the Arno clique, but since I can go solo I might have a peek at them. Especially since they give skill points. dazk Sure the melee guys have some form of conduct, but the ranged guys are ass hats and just shoot when ever. So keeping an eye on them, and trying to spot what the currently engaged melee guy is doing and avoiding the ass hat with the heavy weapon who knocks you down and then getting killed because "screw you I pushed the parry button you bastard"...It just gets a bit hectic.
On the bright side, while they seem to have super vision, they seem to be deaf. At least when gunshots are involved. So there is some gratification just parking on the roof and thinning the herd by shooting them in the head. And no one looks my way. Hehehe.
Oh and will try to remember to say hi. Got a bit intrigued about meeting him when reading Arno's database entry (because I was curious about his mum) but guessing I'll be disappointed since I doubt it will be dirty like I understood it. ---- So what was done today. Assassin's Creed Unity (and a bit of Sims). Since post is running on long, the on topic bit will be in spoilers. But not much if any story spoilers. Just ramblings. Combat got way easier when the game finally decided to tell me I could actually dodge bullets. After having been shot like 10 times. Like thank you game but you could have spit it out earlier. Same with how to heal, hasn't told me yet but I looked up the controls. And boy what a world of difference that made.
I think the guards got it out for me, since sometimes they randomly attack me. Granted sometimes I randomly attack them when they think they can bar my way from opening chests. But like, dead men should tell no tales.
I kinda like the patriots. Or well, I like killing them. Just sauntering over there, slit slit and walk away. But it's also fun when the other guys start fighting with me. Like yay team! But sometimes the guards attack me for it. And like, you weren't doing anything for that poor man being harassed. Granted the other guy might not have deserved to get murdered for it, but, rude.
Did a co-op mission and accidentally chose public. To the person who landed with me, I'm so sorry. They had to revive me like 3 times. I like to think I paid a little back by bailing them out of some big fights with a smoke bomb. But then again I might also have triggered the fights. And then they had to watch me get stuck on a wall, since sometimes Arno likes to think a bit before he decides, hey I can grab that thing which is the exactly same thing I'm holding on to right now! We eventually made it through, so there is that. But I kinda had fun as well, so hope they at least had an okay time .
Then redid the mission in private for the kicks. It was quite more lonelier, but doable.
Otherwise, mostly side quests. Maxed out the Chateau and did some of the quests connected to it. But after one of them led me to a horrid place where my climbing to the eagle point was shot down by four ranged meanies (who all got a knife in the throat for that offense) I decided to save the rest for later.
Also solved a murder mystery. And could you like not overlay the database alert over the new text? Either skip the alert or don't show the entry on the screen. And it's like a few second on the screen sure, but 5 seconds add up when you are getting 12 new entries in a span of maybe 5 minutes. But outside of that they are quite fun.
And since I was getting a wee bit irate I decided to join my friend for some Sims. It was a lot less murderous and the cats were pet-able. So good times.

Oh I almost forgot I finished year 3 of my latest franchise with Madden.
It was a good day with the Pats beating the Chargers IRL I beat the Chargers in the AFC Champsionship game like 52-20...something. The playoffs went well as I went on to win Super Bowl 54 over the Falcons. Brady struggled in the first game against the Texans but my backs did great, then both did great in the Championship and then in the Superbowl Brady had his moments. Hell Brady had a perfect passer rating against the Chargers.

Started up What Remains of Edith Finch, that I got for free from the Epic Games store. So far, this looks to be another one of those mind-fuck games. Actually reminds me a bit of Life is Strange, and the character Edith also reminds me of Max. Game is first person, so I think I'll have to play short spurts at a time. Auto-save only, unfortunately, so I actually think I lost some progress when I quit out of it.
The min req'ts for video didn't seem all that high but this thing had my R9 270 spinning like mad. I turned all the graphics options down to medium (default was ultra on everything) to hopefully tone it down a bit. Given all the detail in the house, I shouldn't be surprised. The place is immense/creepy/gives a serious hoarder vibe. It's full of books and you can actually read the titles on the spines. Not sure if any of them are actual books, though, since none of the ones I bothered to look at sounded familiar.
Has anyone else played this one?

Curious Crow , the rifles are “non-lethal” because they’re usually non-lethal in melee. They definitely kill anyone you shoot. As you discovered, sometimes the people you bludgeon also seem pretty dead. It’s a fun weapon, but I also like sword and pistol a lot. The best weapons in the game, in my opinion, are a sword and a pistol. The best sword is found by solving a puzzle in the free Dead Kings expansion. DO NOT start that DLC before finishing the main game. It’s accessible almost immediately, but has end-game spoilers in its opening cinematic. The best pistol is the multi-shot one with the rotary-looking barrel. You can shoot 4 times without reloading. Oddly, rifles do not shoot any further than pistols in Unity. It makes using a rifle a definite matter of taste, as they have no offensive advantage. I assume you’re on PC, but if you’re playing on PS4 I’d be happy to let you join our Club (FraternitéParisien). No one is reallly playing too often I imagine, but you could reap the rewards of association. We won a lot of Club Contests, racked up achievements, etc... The big perk would be the 1.4x (IIRC) XP multiplier all of our members enjoy. If you’re on PS4 and interested, let me know.

Maple Story. I was unfortunate enough to get a daily for mobs on a map that was infested with botters on all available channels. I had to rely on mixed mob map to finish it and even later on got dc'ed because of hacking reasons, though I didn't finish a message before a window closed. So I don't know if it was because bot overloaded my session or I was accused of hacking. Fortunately loaded without a problem almost immediately after, but I bet for next few days I'm going to nope out from maps with botters without even trying to find free channel After I was done with dailies on my Demon Slayer, I started to slowly level Zero. It's interesting class that relies on combos and character switching. Because Zero is divided into two characters - boy (Alpha) and girl (Beta). Overall I vastly prefer Alpha's quick longsword attacks over Beta's slower broadsword style, so of course I tend to spend a few more seconds with Alpha. With levels gained on Zero, I'm getting closer to unlocking Legion content

Element Zero Thanks for the offer but I'm on PC. Is the Dead Kings expansion fun story wise? And is the sword the lightning sword? Or something else? And if it isn't does the lightning sword ever return? phoray Not sure if it helps, but you could try remapping the Turn Right/Left controls to the Right/Left arrow and then you can look around the x-axis using the arrow keys. No idea how you'd go around getting the arrows to look up or down, but it's something. --- As for the main topic, may or may not have enjoyed swooning over LaCroix. And managed to squeeze two more questions out of the character creator. What do ya do when someone punches you in the theater? (Punch 'em back and make them lick the floor) and Favored Martial Art? (Fisticuffs, but Kendo also sounds nice.)

Moving through the Mire in search of Ft Defiance. Ft Defiance was supposed to be the headquarters of a group that called themselves the Brotherhood of Steel. Janette picked up the trail at camp Venture where she also picked up a distress signal that led to group of people that got hit hard with radiation. Ghoulified but not feral. They were hunted by the people of the mire nonetheless. They were gunned down in their hideout in chemical factory. Murdered. Antother gruesome tale from West Virginia hills.
Then she came upon the Haven churh wherein a group of survivors had tried make a living in an unforgiving world. No chance, the raiders hit and set up a base there. Only to be beset by the scorched, wave after wave coming up from cranberry bog. Only the scorched were left when Janette got there. Without some sort of vaccine against the scorch plague this survival effort will be ultimately pointless however.
So on she goes in search of clues, anything really before it is to late.
P.s. Fog crawlers are nasty, really nasty.

First of all, got my new graphics card!!! RTX270, was reduced at Newegg from $659 to $450, so I couldn't resist. But here is the kicker, it said it comes with a game but didn't tell me outright which (and at that price, I didn't really care either). Turns out, I am now the proud owner of Anthem. For context, I've been stressing very very often on these very boards how not interested I am in this game. Well, now I guess I have to try it after all. Anyway, new card arrived and works beautifully, so on we go and let's see what we can do with it: Tried Kingdom Come: Deliverance (one of the most demanding games I have currently installed and it seems to run constantly with 60 FPS on the absolute maximum settings. So far so good but that's on 1080p, so nothing too special. The real reason I got this card was for good VR performance. So to give it a go, I finally finished modding Skyrim VR this weekend, to an extent that I am happy with it. The main part was getting a good mix of texture mods going. High res textures are pretty important in VR as you can get up REALLY close to just about every object in the world. I started out with SETOG, a really nice guide on how to combine heaps of texture mods to create a very nice looking game. It's a bit old now (November 2017 I believe) so one needs to use later versions of some things (e.g. NobleSkyrim textures now have a Special Edition release) but in principle, this guide works really well. I then added the Enhanced Lighting and FX (thanks to vonuber for the suggestion a few pages back) and Vivid Weathers + True Storms for more atmosphere as well as tons of additional weapons, armor, cloaks, dungeons, quests and smaller graphics enhancement mods (like Spells Emit Light, etc.). Next step was to get some VR mods going. Thankfully, there is now a SkyUI VR version as well as some other improvements like a less intrusive HUD, a better control scheme for the touch controllers and so on. The most important one though is VR Body, which renders your own body (something the original Skyrim VR doesn't do), so you look down at yourself, see your outstreched arms and hands (even with a weapon or spell equipped) and so on. It's a bit glitchy at times but still, it improves immersion a ton and it makes equipping new armor much more fun, when you actually see your arm is now covered in shiny steel plating . Kudos to the guy who managed to make it, I can imagine this was quite difficult to get right. Ok, so after hours and hours of preparation, quite incredibly, all these mods seemed to play nice together and I started a new game. With the new card, frame rates are perfect most of the time, I just get some stuttering sometimes when looking out from a mountain top over a wide area and swiveling my head fast but just about anywhere else, it works perfectly and it just looks fantastic, no comparison to the unmodded game. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, given the length of this post as it is ) I can't post pictures that would show the VR experience (and the desktop mirror doesn't really capture it well). Uh, just look at the images on the SETOG nexus page to get an idea. I am playing a Redguard (my go-to race in TES games, they are just so badass) and I am leveling him to be a paladin kinda char, combining one handed weapons with combat oriented spells and some healing and restoration abilities. My headcanon background is sort of a ripoff of Daggerfall. I am a secret agent of the Emperor Titus Mede II himself, so secret, not even the Blades know about my mission, which was of course to end the civil war in Skyrim. (I am not planning to do the Dark Brotherhood questline with this guy, so since I never will meet Titus, this head canon should work fine). When reaching Skyrim's border, I stumbled upon a party of the Sons of Skyrim and while scouting them out, I was surprised and captured by imperial troops. Not knowing who I was, they imprisoned me in some god forsaken dungeon along the border for a few months (which is why I am so weak at the beginning of the game) and finally dragged me out to Helgen, when they captured Ulfric Stormcloak. Queue the Skyrim intro. However, I don't hold a grudge and I am still loyal to the empire and will stay true to my mission: End the civil war and bring Skyrim back into the fold. Wouldn't hurt to disrupt some Thalmor activities along the way though as long as I am not yet officially associated with the Legion. In general, I am the classic honorable hero type. My first Skyrim character back in the olden days of 2011/12 was a proud Nord, fighting for Skyrim's freedom, so this is a nice change of pace. So far, I have played about 3 hours or so. Made it through the tutorial stuff, Riverwood and almost through Bleakfalls Barrow. Maybe it's the VR controls or maybe it's a balance shift due to some mods but I get the feeling that the game is much easier than I remember it. So far, my health barely drained at all (I actually have trouble leveling up my healing skill because of this ). Still, fights feel absolutely stunning in VR. There is just nothing like stretching out your left hand and spew flames to set a Draugr on fire, only to finish him off by stabbing him with the spear in your right hand. You can even go all roman style, holding up your shield to block blows and stab with your sword or short-spear over it while doing so. Or you block arrows with your shield and them pick them from it with your other hand, one way to restock on ammo. Though I have to admit, I am not using the bow at all for now, it's really hard to aim with it (and it doesn't really fit my character anyway). Movement works well enough. I got a third sensor installed, so I now have 360 degree room scale motion tracking, which is cool but I still end up mostly rotating with the stick or I'd just mangle (and possibly strangle ) myself with the cables (need wireless headsets). But once you get used to it, it all works well enough. Oh, sneaking is also a bit of a thing. You CAN just use a button to go to sneak mode but of course I am using the "realistic sneaking" option, so I actually have to go into a crouch IRL in order to sneak in game. So sneaking for extended periods of time is like Skyrim: Ski Gym Simulator. Fortunately, you can adjust the height threshold in the ini files 'cause the default is very far down and pretty uncomfortable. Also fortunately, I am playing an honorable dude, who doesn't really sneak much. If I were a dark brotherhood assassin, this would be a hard game to play. Also fun, swimming can also be set to "realistic" in which case you ... well you swim by swimming with your arms. One day, I really want to video tape myself while playing this game, just for the lulz. As I have written before, I could think of a few improvements, most importantly weapon sheaths and arrow quivers that are on your body and usable like in other VR games. Also, it would be nice if the height of your head wouldn't come down when you sit on a chair in the game world. I mean, I am playing the game standing, which can get uncomfortable for the legs and feet after an hour or two. I do have a chair right next to me IRL though, so it would be nice to be able to sit down in game and IRL at the same time, so you just sit and relax for a bit. But since the game does adjust your perspective to a sitting position by itself, if you now also sit IRL, you'll be at floor level. I have to check if there's a mod for this though, seems like an something that should be fairly easy to adjust. EDIT: Aaaaand found the mod for it. Even works for horses. Skyrim modders just never cease to amaze on every level. Also, get this dude, taking immersion to the next level with that mod. But anyway, all in all the immersion is fantastic, with all the mods, the game looks absolutely gorgeous and the scale is just miles above just about any other VR game I know of. I'll probably spend most of my VR time in Skyrim for the foreseeable future. Sorry for the super long post. I am just still getting excited about this all new gameplay experience. It's like I am twelve again and discovering all this new stuff one can do with a computer. And when I get excited, I tend to talk/write a lot about it.

I agree that the achievement should have been called " Worth it " . It's not your mission to kill Hitler but it did give me a good laugh as I did it four times in a row.

So more Assassin's Creed Unity today. Did the first assassination. Got kinda worried about all the options they said I'd have, but ended up having fun. A massive plus for Unity is that if I kill them in private I can get out pretty panic-less. So there is a big incentive to be sneaky. Unlike the others where it wasn't an assassination unless I had like ten guards chasing me, begging for the loving touch of my blades. Not as big of a fan of the Rifts. I liked lazing about after a big mission in the other three games. But not the worst thing either. Did the Food Shortage CoOp mission by myself. And it was infuriating, then turned kinda nice. Since I ended up rage quitting near the end, because "shut your mouth lady I can't stealth like this!" So ended up upgrading the weapons, a lovely katana, Arno's gun I think and a belt for moar bullets. And for now, combat is easy mode. Which I like. And since I rage quit because of combat, I went back and had my bloody revenge. Met the most delightful man in the next mission. I think he was the one with the nice bum at the beginning? Either way, grand fellow.
And muh darts. My sweet, lovely little darts. Was so happy to see that I also got a small amount of the berserk ones. Because it aint a party for my enemies unless some of them get killed by their friends. So the next mission was great fun. Awww Arno. Why you gotta be a good boy. Just a wee bit of acid, common, he's worth it. Granted I could see the point in avoiding the guilt. But easy life is good life. Besides, it will make it easier for him to get money begging! But seriously I was pepped up for some nice violence and then he leaves me hanging like that. So made my own fun in the sewers. Really liked the next big assassination. Again, nice to be able to set things up so I could just saunter out. And just liked the whole setup. Target was funny as well, acting like he knew where I was. I do miss the little conversation bits at the end. I mean the flashbacks are nice and all, but it was nice to have a little chat. So now I'm at Sequence 5 and stopping there before the time suddenly turns 3am or something. Also did a murder mystery, solved some riddles and looked up some others and explored the top half of the map and view pointed most of it. Been having fun for the most part. Arno is the opposite of Shay when it comes to climbing, because he wont.let.go. Just hangs there like a little monkey. I do prefer it, but at the same time it can get a bit irritating. Otherwise, good times. And since top spot, top pics. Fairly big uns at that. Just your average citizen. But yeah, this is usually the state of him. But granted how many casual murders seem to be happening on the streets, he doesn't really stick out that much. They never knew what hit them. Or well, who was responsible for them hitting each other.
