Fallout 4. Went searching for Virgil since he knows the way into the Institute. Went hunting after a Courser, had to fight my way through those idiotic Gunners. Found the Courser and gave him a dirt nap along with everyone else in that building. Went back to the Railroad to see if they can decipher the chip. Beautiful. Courser? You mean a warm up for target practice? Told Codsworth to restore my ride back to its Prewar pristine condition.

More Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Wrapped up the main quest and I must say, just judging from just the main quest, it has finally tossed number 2 off it's snug post as my favorite. Spoilery recap/rambling/nonsense. Jacob invited himself to a job and took a lovely lady and her cutest of doggos for a spin. Desmond was such a cutie. And the cutscene was a bit predictable, but still fun. Broke my streak of winning fisticuffs, since Evie got knocked out on the last round of the level 9 bit. Argh. Not sure if the headache came before or after, but blaming it either way. Back to main questing. Tried to bluff my way into a party by using a police man. But I'm rubbish at the kidnapping stuff so they kept discovering Jacob, he ran off, hid, they forgot, he kidnapped the fellow again and the games begin anew. After the second time they probably should've gotten wise to my tricks, but alas, silly ai. Succeeded (sorta) on the fifth try. So yay? Rest of the mission was messy, since nobody had to remain alive, so, well.
Then got a bit spooked since I thought I'd skipped a cutscene, but luckily the game was just glitching and decided to replay it instead. Phew.
Then tried to attend another party. For this one Jacob just stole the invitations, since the policemen are useless. Hehe. Didn't kill anyone, but there were a lot of people chasing Jacob about. Game started glitching half way through, just some mild flickers, but it made things interesting. Did manage to wrap up the mission, so yay. Then it was Evies turn. Spooked some horses using a smoke bomb (and felt pretty smart figuring it out. Granted I did try tossing knives near their feet but they didn't react. Smoke is scarier than knives I guess). Then tried out being a taxi service. Carriage didn't burst into flames, so calling it a success.
Then the final party! Really liked the outfits for that one. The dress was lovely. Pain to move in but grand to look at. Liked Jacob's portion better than Evies since I'm rubbish at stealth, but liked the idea of her part. The dance was just amazing. Florianne should take some tips. Final bit was also great. Got some repressed memories from Unity at the start, but luckily I had a way better time.
Had to take a break in the middle of the fight and was very happy to learn that the checkpoints had my back so I could just continue the action when break was over. So got to be all pumped and stuff. Then died near the end. Not in game, just in real life. It was so up my alley that I forgot to breathe and fell down dead. Good times. The ending outside the simulation was also pretty great. The song was real nice, the sequence was fun and camera names made me sad. Then the final final bit was just spooky. Just no, you can't do that, it's too creepy.
Was confused at the lack of credits, so did the new side missions to see if they'd appear. They didn't and it turns out you can only access them from the pause menu. Which is a pity since I do like using them to reflect on the ending.
Ah well. Decided to power through the Last Maharaja dlc. But first, looked up where to find and got the last upgrade for the berserker darts. Helped me get through the mission I stopped on. Not because I used them but knowing I could and they would work made things just feel so much easier. Next two missions were okay. Had some glitches which made them fairly frustrating but the ideas were nice. Optional challenge kinda soured the one after that, since the first attempt was so graceful but missed the challenge and the attempts that got it was pretty messy. Drunk mission was also a fun idea, but shooting the person shaped bottle was a pain, both because of the filter and the wobbling. But a decent idea. Did like bit number 8 and 9. 8 because it went fairly smoothly and I liked the concept. 9 because murder. Final mission started out fine, got a bit buggy near the end but then saved by the conclusion which I quite liked.
So all in all, an okay story but had some frustrating bits. Oh and also checked out the pay off for the flowers. It was adorable, but a bit put off by how fast they moved. But at the same time, Henry is quite the catch so maybe it's better to be quick than to miss him. Ending the main game at 96%. Missing one optional objective from the Train Memories and too lazy to get it. Not bothering with the rest of the collectibles, the pictures and tasting notes were fine, but I'm not going to loose any sleep over missing them and there are just too many chests. Fine to find one and one on a mission, but the effort of opening them all surely wont be worth it. And missing Ned's and Toppings full loyalty, I like Ned but he's too needy and I'm not too fond of hijacking. Same with Toppings, but mostly that I'm still mad about loosing my winning streak at the Fisticuffs and if I'm mad I aint focused and if I aint focused I aint surviving and if I don't survive it wont complete and there are no points for half measures. So.
Not quite done with Syndicate yet, since I've still got Jack the Ripper left. Did the first three missions of it and well, it's quite something. Not too fond of the fear stuff but the story so far is interesting enough and am for the most part having fun. So all in all, grand times.

Glad you liked it, I liked Evie and Jacob but the game didn't do much for me especially the god damn carriages and combat. Be prepared the final combat in The Jack the Ripper DLC (well for me ) was really hard. It took me a couple of times doing it to figure out the mechanics of it.

Gotta love the variety of environment design in this game. Sometimes you just gotta switch to modern technology. As stab in the throat, then a shotgun to the face! Most satisfying.
I don't care what people say, this is the best Lara design they've done. Also, Lara, have you really not learnt about how much of a bad idea it can be stealing magical shit from temples yet. I'm liking this whole tranche of DLC.

dazk Heh I liked the carriages. Or well, I liked hearing Jacob going "Who's a good horse? You are!". And well, enjoyed riding the weapons of mass destruction this games horses are. Thanks for the heads up about the fight Got shanked the first try but heard the hints the second time, so it was less painful than it might have been. ---- So ended up wrapping up Jack the Ripper. Had a bit of a chuckle since I though I was on the second last mission and was thus expecting a big identity twist and kinda worried that the final fight would be even more gruesome. Then the credits popped up. So that was fun. So, I liked the main story a lot. Had been thinking that it was a pity Evie only got one "big assassination mission" so it was nice for her to get her turn. Liked the variance between bits, the cutscenes were just lovely and the story was fun. Only complaint was that the voices in the head could be a bit...needy and guessing I will never get a protag who doesn't fuss over killing civilians. They are witnesses too and witnesses must be purged! On the other hand I hated the associate missions. Or well, stuff happening in the background got me super riled up and made them all way too annoying. Basically, they took away a few of the skills/upgrades I liked and then added some annoying stuff on top of that. So there will be no non mandatory assistance from me! But I didn't mind the ideas behind them. And would probably have enjoyed them sans my annoyances. Then started up Assassin's Creed Origin. First attempt looked awesome but played like ass. So had Geforce Experience muddle about and then it played nice but looked like ass. Muddled around the first town. First impressions are: I like the bird, but prefer the eagle vision in the other games. It's a bit better now, but at first I had way too much trouble seeing what was going on in general so it was quite annoying. Combat was okay, but since I had trouble spotting the enemies it was pretty annoying, since I'd suddenly be attacked by some blokes on horses and had no idea what was going on. Other wise it was nice. People were for the most part friendly and stuff. Ended up going the middle way graphic wise and asking the game to put me on medium settings. Looks nice and plays nice. And now I kinda know whats going on around me, so yay. Did the next big kill and hot damn that got dark quick. Went to the next big area and finally decided to toss away the pride and put the game down to Hard. Which was a decent idea. Combat is pretty easy right now, but better easy and fun than hard and no hair. Did some sidequests and went on a wicked acid trip in the desert. So far I'd say I like the game. It looks lovely, the story is interesting and having a decent amount of fun play wise after I lowered the difficulty. Am feeling a bit overloaded on stuff I can do, but there are worse fates to be had. So good times.

Atlas My avatar hit 90. Time to go in search for the fountain of youth. One of the company had done it the previous day and gave advice. I went to the freeport, got myself a ramshackle sloop. Why not take one of the company ships? It's better to take an unarm sloop than a well built ship. I went to the grid, reached the island and was told the fountain had shifted to another grid. So I sailed there. On the way there, a storm blew up and cyclones appeared. It was so bad that I didn't see the slab of rock jutting out of the sea until I heard the grinding noise. I got the sloop away but it suffered damage. I couldn't repair it as I didn't have the supplies. I made it to the island. The first thing I heard was cannons. Uh oh. Griefers? There're players who deliberately blew up sloops and kill players on the FOY island. As it turned out, it was a brig firing on the cyclops attacking the sloops. I hit another sloop which sunk; it was already damaged by a cyclop. Then my sloop sunk because of the damage it suffered earlier. I got on the island but didn't get to the fountain when a wolf attacked. I tried again the next day. This time, three other company players were going. Captain whose avatar was already 100 and dying. The others were in their 90s. We made two sloops and sailed to the grid which was right next to our home base. It was a quiet trip. When we got there, it was populated by cyclops and a HYDRA! We thought it was a dragon at first until we saw the three heads. Initially we thought it was guarding the cave entrance of the fountain but the player who succeeded said it wasn't. She directed us to the right spot and we had to dodge two cyclops, a rock cyclops all jamming up the path to the cave. We climbed to the cliff where someone had thoughtfully built a ladder to the ancient buildings above. We climbed and around to the spot above the cave. We all died a few times, jumping down to the entrance but all of us made it. Yay, all of ours avatars are in their 20s again!

So initially I was planning on this being a 'text based lets play' like what Phoray does but ultimatley decided against it for reasons of not knowing how to work these forums that well. That being said this will be my initial impressions on what I have been doing since Sunday.
The game in question? Horizon Zero Dawn.
Lets see in the story I just got to Mother's Crown and just finished hunting down the Raiders to their base plus starting all the side quests at Mother's Crown.
And boy am I glad I waited for a significant discount because this game, for me, is a mess so far. First of all once more the bone headed decision to not do a proper save system, they had to be all 'fancy' with it with the stupid camp fires. So I can't just save my game like I would want but have to run around. This has led to at least two instances of annoyance. First I wanted to quit a little early, had something I wanted to do but there was a camp fire on the other side of the wall, I figured I would have to go get it eventually but had to talk to someone before hand, which then led to a significant cut scene and huge battle. Second time the campfire was at the top of a hill with no intuitive way to get up there so I had to waste my time and run around.
Second the combat is a bit of a mess given the arrows seem to have a mind of their own, (which promptly ruin your ambushes) and often there is no indication of what is an enemy area or what isn't because I have stumbled into full bandit camps with no knowledge of what they were.
Finally the RP...the wheel itself is great but there are only like one option in a blue moon sort of a deal which gives me no real opprotunity to forge Alloy, and since Horizon is advertised as an RPG...I take this seriously.
Still enjoying myself and its a good game, but frustrating. Don't think it will fall as low as Tier 4 unless the story goes all stupid.

So took a break from Horizon to do a toatally scientific simulation of the upcoming Super Bowl in Madden. 'Toatally scientific' of course meaning that the rosters aren't quite right. I have Brandin Cooks...and he is on the Rams IRL...and also my created Tight End. But on the negative side I do not have James White with what I consider his 'proper' rating and also don't have Sony Michel, instead having to stick to Dion Lewis...something I will have to correct in the future.
In summary...the good news is I won 42-25, the bad news is 4 of those Touchdowns came from Brandon Cooks and RR so I'd only have scored like 14 points...yey.
Still the game was mostly a close contest throughout the vast majority of the contest. I had started to pull away with like a 10 + point lead to start the third quarter but they got a safety on me and then a field goal to make it 24-18. I was driving down the field as the third quarter was expiring, chose to run a simple run play with Lewis who prompty fumbled the ball and as time expired in the third the Rams took a 25-24 lead. Well that's when apparently I went to work and carved them apart. A touchdown (then a two point conversion), a field goal, and a touchdown later gave me the command I needed.
Brady finished the game with a 149 passer rating, 5 passing TDs,Ryder and Cooks had two a piece, and Gronkowski was somehow the MVP I think he had like 5 catches and a touchdown.
Over in Anthem news and yeah something like a 26 gig demo....which is also annoying because it just makes me wonder how large games are starting to get. DA 4 when it comes out will take me a week to download and be over a terra bite.

So since I couldn't play Anthem last night afterall... Back to another Super Bowl prediction game. This time I created Sony Michel so the Pats have their whole roster, more or less, pretty much on offense. Final score 59-30. Brady threw for over 400 yards and 7 TDs with one int for a 146 rating. Michel rushed for 124 yds and a TD. On the note of how the game would go even with players who aren't playing even then it would be 38-30. Brady hit 7 different recievers with his TDs. And then back to the world of Horizon. Either I somehow got much better at the game virtually over night or this is just going to be a game where I have a great night, then a bad one. It was a great night, I did a lot of puttering around. Highlight wasme ambushing a random group of bandits. I just had my marksman bow and walked it down the line headshotting them all.

Found a way to enjoy sims again.
Had been having trouble focusing since my favorite family tree got borked. After many many tries of getting engaged with a different family, I decided to put several of the more promising families in the same save and then rotate between them. Which did the trick. Got 5 families in the rotation, 1 week for each and am about to go full circle.
Nothing too exciting happened, except you know that time when you go to stow your free french fries for later, but get abducted by aliens and impregnated with twins? Matthew knows it now. No idea where the french fries went though. Guessing the aliens ate them, because they weren't where he tried to put them. Also got twins on another family, so this bunch is fertile I guess.
Also tried Anthem with my friend. Managed to do one mission, but then we gave up because her game was stuttering like mad. Which is a pity since we both kinda ended up having fun.
So it was grand in a way.

Decided to play some Monster Hunter World for the first time in months. Tried my hand at Diablos again and like the last time, frustrating with not being able to get past him. So, after failing multiple times at Diablos, just hunted some random monsters.

This mission was so important and hard all my best ended up wounded 3-4 missions later And shamefur dispray after a successful mission UFO attack is supposed to be harder than this... too bad I can't increase the difficulty.

Fired up the old Wolfenstein Enemy territory and had a blast. Also got me a new user name - who does not like to be killed or kill an innocent bystander?

That moment when you realise you have completely the wrong gun equipped: .. and one in the brain, just to make sure: Who needs a torch when you can create your own light: "So my Dad works late, but I'm sure he's ok isn't he? Busy coming up with new ideas and all that..." "Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............................ yeah. Of course. He's positively on fire right now, in fact."

Bonked the final boss in Kingdom Hearts 3 real good on the head. Absolutely bonked him!
Was rewarded with a looooooooooot of unclear information and loose ends that will be tied up in some future title..
A melted brain was not the reward I had hoped for after doing some increadible bonking but it is exactly what I expected of a KH game.
