Before I have another playthrough of KOTOR I decided to play KOTOR2 with the restoration mod, and eh. I've read on various occasions that it's the best one, but I just don't feel any motivation about why I'm doing anything. Atton is funny though. Kreia is kind of like: listen to my Ayn Rand and Darwin teachings. still your mind, read this here Atlas Shrugged and feel it flow. I'm a sith assassin and every time my character is told she's the best hope for the Republic I'm like...and why do I give a damn? I'm probably missing something. I’ve never understood how so many people like it better than KotOR. I do enjoy it, and like the additional gear, skills, prestige classes, etc... It doesn’t remotely feel like a true SW story, in my opinion. Whereas KotOR is SW through and through, KotOR2 feels like a strange story that someone forced into the SW setting. It’s fun, but more than a bit “square peg meets round hole”. That about sums it up for me too. In the end, I stayed dark side and rebuilt the sith with my companions on Malachor V , or so I think that's what happened according to Kreia during the Q&A with her. Who the hell knows, really. Even with the restoration mod the ending was so abrupt and anticlimactic! Just imo, of course.

Well did some more free roaming, took over a control point and did the first main mission at the Theatre. Tired to get a PUG group together at the starting point but nothing seemed to happen so did it solo which turned out fine. Rescued this kid With this agent (Kelso NPC) hope we get to do more with her. For this woman Recruited my first White House base of Operations helper, looks a bit like Naomi Ngata from The Expanse

I won the war with Aztecs (well Status quo ante bellum) but... I'm not saying this game is unbalanced (like Civ 4 and 6) but... At least its score system is super cool and acknowledges my worthiness! and you can build your multi-cultural palace!

That's what I was told by various fans, but to me it was mish-mash of Ayn Rand philosophy and Darwinian, trying to seem deep. It was a deconstruction of Jedi and Sith, but holy shit it was like listening to a first year philosophy student. Part of it was how Kreia spoke: feel it flow, buzzing around you etc etc. I laughed several times. IDK, I just thought the story was unintentionally funny. Maybe I'll try again at some point.

Correct. I avoid Ayn Rand philosophy, Nietzsche and Darwinism in general. Too grey, materialistic and nihilistic for me. Kreia also is like the female Schopenhauer. And everyone knows philosophy was wounded badly by Marx, Darwin and Nietzsche. Only Spengler, Bergson and Heidegger somehow kept it alive. Then it completely died and its corpse was hijacked by charlatans and the malevolent. But I'm bipolar... shifting sides between the Stoic Buddhistic Neo-Platonic Light-side and Machiavellian Hobbesian Dark-side. Therefore I don't find the Jedi and the Sith superficial as people claim them to be.

Maybe that's why I wanted to force choke her, then toss her out of the Ebon Hawk while moving at light speed. I'm going to give KOTOR 2 another go though after my next KOTOR playthrough.

Tonight I did some more Raiding.
Ovaries of Steel, this woman: I love the fact she lampshades this. This section too far longer than it should've, it was quite tricky: God knows what it is like with a controller. Mouse and keyboard makes the combat fun too, with how quickly you can adjust aim: It still is a stunning looking game though. "Eh, it'll buff out."

So it seems my Farcry 4 playthrough has officially turned into a GRW playthrough. Le sigh.
Anyways this has to do with the fact that I actually completed the two missions that I hadn't finished with my first character. This means that I can now probably get the 'best' ending...the ending you get if you finish everything.
On the flip side I am not sure just how effective the new camo system is in practicality. I mean it might delay detection but it certainly is not effective as when what's his face was wearing it. In fact i was caught the first time because I couldn't uncrouch and grab the evidence I needed at the same time so someone came in behind me. Second time, went in at night and turned off the generator, which just caused them to swarm to my position like flies on rice...but I carefully swept through with a lot of synch shooting and finished them off. Evidence pointed me at a truck convoy with cocain which I blew apart.
So last night I did 2 story missions, raided 4 convoys, and killed a Sicario when I was supposed to interrogate him...but I already got all those Rebel Support. Hopefully up next is finishing out Koani and moving on.

Not sure if there's a story here or not, but after finally....finally!....scrounging the resources to make a repair tool and fix my radio, I was able to locate two other escape pods, both unoccupied and looking to have been blown open from the inside. Hmmm.....
I think I've decided that survival games suck. Having to scrounge for literally everything in order to do ANYTHING is a pain in the rear. Resource gathering is tedious enough in rpgs where it's just a means to an end, but having it be the entire point of the game is just.....bleh. Especially when I don't have infinite inventory space. What's also annoying is the game not counting stored resources as available to make stuff with. It only sees what's in your active inventory so shuffling stuff around is also a must depending on what you want to make.
I think I'm just in a gaming funk right now. Nothing is fun and everything is annoying.

Started playing Red Dead Redemption 2. I played it a bit at launch but quickly moved onto other things. I didn't realise the wild west had so many snitches. You commit some minor offence, and next thing you know there is a endless spawn of "lawmen" to bring you down. I've had enough. I lassoed the last guy that tried to snitch and dumped his body on some railroad tracks. I liked that part.

Subnautica really caught my attention a while ago but as soon as I found out the detail decided it wasn't for me. I was a bit the same re being in a funk, AC Odyssey after 270+ hours it just wasn't doing it for me but The Division 2 has me inspired me again even though I am still trying to figure out some of the gameplay stuff. At least taking cover and shooting a gun is all pretty straight forward!!!!!!

We had a training thing in ArmA, like any other Sunday, but today was especially Funday. I got to blow shit up and place no less than two minefields. We also established that 2-1 Bravo needs to pay attention to where I'm dumping my toys, because I'm not beyond bringing an entire boombag and then leaving it all over the place for the enemy to find like they're playing some sick version of finding the easter eggs. Unfortunately, friendlies have been a lot better at playing find the easter egg tonight than the enemy who we had to shoot the old fashioned way But still I GOT TO BLOW PEOPLE UP WITH MINES AND GIGGLE ABOUT IT.

So not much story advancement in TD2 yesterday, just a lot of running around picking up resources to supply a couple of control points I took over for the civil militia, then rescued some hostages who were about to be executed, failed the first time oops Free roamed with a random player but he had a death wish so left the group, discovered another safe house and generally had fun doing random encounters with enemies. Also had fun escorting people to collect water from a sight I freed, then back again. Not sure I had to but they did encounter some roaming enemies so was able to make sure none of them died. Will push some main mission stuff today. Bit of sightseeing, unfortunately Washington hasn't been as visually interesting as NY but hoping that will change as I explore more. First really challenging fight so far, this is the dead boss: I waited a while but no one came to park my car:

Did some more roaming in Subnautica. Was able to find what I needed for my radiation suit which then let me get closer to the shipwreck and find some goodies there. Having to surface every minute or so to replenish oxygen is driving me batty.
I came across another life pod but wasn't able to do anything with it.
On the radio, there is apparently a rescue ship in the area and on the way. They sent rendezvous coordinates which I immediately headed for. I found an island! And it has structures on it! So now I'm just counting down the timer for when the ship will get there. Why do I have a feeling something is going to go wrong and I'm going to continue to be stranded here? And then I can explore the structures assuming I don't get mauled by any more sand crabby things.
I still think I'm playing this game wrong....I haven't built any buildings yet because I don't have a habitat building tool. It seems like that should be a priority and something that you could make sooner rather than later, but it requires resources that aren't close by where you start out. By the time I get to where I'm going to find what I need, I'm out of inventory space...again! I'm loading up floaty boxes near my pod to keep stuff in. So annoying.

In GRW:
So I eliminated the Smuggling side of the drug pipeline finally. I eliminated Boston Reed, El Boquita, and then flipped Nidia Flores. After that it was off to Tarbarcal to work on Madre Cocoa.
It was kind of funny I am still working on figuring out how the redeployment bit works for the game and well much like...when you first start the game....the redployment sends you to the nearest...safe zone? So I redployed relatively close to the are and then when the game went back in I was back nearly a kilometer away. Neverthless I quickly made it back to the airstrip in question, made my way through the guards and then summoned Boston Reed. Seems they might've changed something...last time I remember like a whole fleet of planes and helicopters but this time it was just the one. I decided to shoot it out of the sky, Boston Survived, but not for long as one of my guys I think got him. I was a bit surprised El Boquita decided to stay in fight rather then fleeing, worse mistake he made but it actually took me a lot of bullets. With him and some of his guards, I think the SB hires kryptonians or something. Nidia, the beauty queen. Started off a bit rough as I missed her guard on the perimeter and well I was able to get fight my way up to her, get her to her hlicopter...then handed her over to Bowman.
In Tarbacal the only funny thing of note right now is running around and I did one of the Sicario missions, there was a skill point and well I was in the neighbourhood even though there was no need to. First of all landed the helicopter in the middle of a lake...so it sunk...to where only the blades were poking up over the water. And second the Sicario tried running...then drove his humvee in the lake where he had trouble so I started shooting it up stopping him, then interrogated him.

melbella The early grind and inventory space issues are quite frustrating. I actually spent most of my time with Subnautica building bases but it's sloooooow going. You don't "need" a real base but you DO need to build a storage shack at least. Will make things a lot easier. You should be able to craft the Habitat Builder straight away if I remember correctly. Does it not show up in the Fabricator? I struggled a lot in the early game with the mechanics. I didn't find it all that intuitive. But at some point the game opened up and I started to have a ton fo fun. Hang in there!

Habitat builder tool is made of wiring kit - 2 silver ores (found in sandstone which can be found deep in caves in the starter area) computer chip - 2 coral table, gold, copper wire (require 2 copper which is found in limestone which also drops titanium) battery - 2 copper I basically built a simple donut shape habitat on two foundations below the escape pod, build large storage in it and go off resource gathering, etc until I get to the island to get the rest of the building pieces. I'll also build the simple aquarium and throw in peepers and bladder fish so they can breed rather than me going off chasing after them.

If you don't have a knife, gather creepvine seeds, the golden globes, to convert them into silicon rubber. Titanium can be gathered from wreckage or limestone.

Ohhhh.....I have a knife but never got any sort of interact with the coral yet. So, I guess I have to *equip* the knife for that. Sigh. I was thinking I'd need the laser cutter for them, and for that I only have 1/3 of the schematics discovered.

In GRW: So I have been having a lot of fun in Tarbacal. The two story missions I have run so far went pretty easy but then I crashed a supply helicopter off the mountain...twice. Also been hunting down skill points since I am max level, I think I have actually invested a lot of skill points and I wonder where I am compared to my first character. Up next, hopefully getting this area more or less finished.

Tonight I decided to re-visit Lesbian Misery Simulator 2: Not as depressing as the first one in of itself, but with the knowledge of the meta narrative it certainly is.
