After nearly 2 wks, finally got to play a bit more Witcher.
Figured out the missing sister quest. I sided with her and the vampires since the Flamey Knights tick me off with their hypocritical self-righteousness. First time I played I didn't realize snogging the girl was a requirement to get the clue necessary to positively ID her so I skipped that part and never finished the quest.
Headed back to the swamp to vent some frustration. Helped the Hierophant clear out more salamanders and got the letters that Leuvaardan was looking for. Turned those in and now waiting for the decryption results. Also turned in the wyvern meat contract and killed the big she-wyvern for the Royal Huntsman.
Last contract this chapter is the archespore juice, which is annoying me greatly. I had 2 bottles but I must have used them for potions or something because I couldn't find them anywhere. After running all over the swamp I finally got one archespore to spawn and it dropped 2 juices, so I'd only need 1 more. But, before I could save, the game crashed so now I'm back to having 0.

dazk Thanks It's the pirate set, but I wasn't buying a pirate without an eye patch. I think the wolf gave me the most problems out of the lot, but the boars were close seconds. The bear was the easiest. Poor teddy. Daphne got one shot with Hero Rush in front of her sisters. Had kinda been spoiled on the end of the quest, so didn't bother making an emotional connection. So the chick I talked to twice vs free roam through last playthroughs nightmare zone was an easy choice. Her praying to her god was the cherry on top. You poked the murder god on your own accord, don't bring your own god into this! Told Bryce after I saved her from the mob that I'd meet her later and she cussed me out good. So yeah. She needs a stern talking to. And then that snide little "Perhaps you found your courage" since I skipped looking up the merc. Dirty little flower picker, no sympathy for you! ---- More AC Odyssey today. So today the snake lady met her maker. In the first go. I was so glad. Was even more happy when I found out Barnabas can control the music on the boat. Over 100 hours and I'm just finding that out now. Wrapped up the family quest line and got full attendance at the dinner table. Which was nice. The ideal end would be just the siblings and no parents, but this is close enough. Then finished the Cult story line. Had been spoilered on the Ghosts identity, but was blind on their motives. Which were nice but Alexios had already murdered his way through the tree and was not planning to skip the stump! Then at long last Alexios started his artifact quest. He'd gotten all the artifacts except the bird lady, but already had 1/2 the key to her door, so just fast traveled to her location and got kicked right into quiz mode. And it was the first of the lot I did not "win" in the first attempt. Because I was stupid. And picked spider for a mosquito, where as just looking at the pictures would have told me that I got the answer wrong and the correct one was just over there. Cutscene was funny. Was disappointed I could not fight her, mano el birdo. So re-did quiz time and got it right that time around. Yay. The found out that I could only get to the artifact drop off via fast travel. But you can hear the dialog quite clearly on the island and Alexios even tried to join the conversation. Even if they deep below him. So that was fun. So fast travelled there and saw the ending. That suit suited him so good! Mowed through Heir of Memories to get to the start of the Atlantis dlc, which I'll try out in the next session probably. Was spoilered that I might meet my favorite cultist there, so am pretty excited.

I went back to World of Warcraft recently for a couple of my friends were having fun with it. Over the last couple of weeks I have reached max level and found out that about 75% of the people I raided with back in the day have regrouped and created a new guild so I joined them. I have found out that I am really enjoying Mythic+ dungeons more then I ever did raiding for its a nice 20 to 30min dungeon that gives loot on par with the hardest difficulty of raids.
Overall the game hasn't changed much and its the same as when I left and its my guild and online friends that keep me interested in playing and when that goes away I have no interest in the game.

Trying the single player modes of the Battlefield series. I am up to BF1 (yeah, sounds weird that it comes after BF3 and BF4) and so far nothing to write home about.
BF3's plot I already can't recall. BF4 was actually decent (not COD1 or COD:MW level of good), but it had good missions and one good character to run with.
BF:Hardline...now it tries to do story. But actually wants to be a stealth game. Which would be fine if it isn't easier to just shoot everyone and complete the level in 3 minutes instead of stealthily arrest everyone for 20 minutes. This is not the AC franchise. I can feel how this game really wanted to be something else, RPG even, but somehow ended up as a BF game. Overall it's not a bad single player experience for a BF game, but it's no masterpiece.
BF1...boy, oh, boy...WTF...they took the stealth elements from Hardline (where you use your scanner to tag enemies, use GPS satellites, etc.) and cram them into a BF game about World War 1... Once it might be ok...but I did 2 of the SP "episodes" and was asked to be stealthy in each foot soldier scenario. Screw it, I went guns blazing and it's not a wrong choice. Just too easy. But it showed me a nice touch in the game I would want to see more of. I was on the top of a windmill sniping the poor Fritzes when one smart Fritz managed to get to a big howitzer gun and slowly destroyed 2 storeys of the windmill. It was quite the shock seeing how the walls around me fall down and all the ammo crates vaporized as I rushed down the stairs to escape. Anyway, stealth...why stealth? This game is called Battlefield, gimme huge battlefield fights, bayonet charges, shells exploding all around. But no, try to avoid all of that while you sneak around some surprisingly empty trenches and villages. I don't think I will bother with BFV (not called BF5 for some reason). Well, unless I really run out of games trying to milk this Origin Premier subscription.
Speaking of OriginP library - Frostpunk. Somehow surprisingly addictive and damn tough strategy game. No idea what it is about it, but I keep getting back to it. Maybe deep inside I like to see people suffer under my incompetent rule in minus 90C temperatures. You want to be warm, little man? Work in this coal mine then. What? You can't because you are sick? Well, then there is no coal. And no coal means no generator. No generator means you will be cold. What, you still want to be warm? Then work in that sawmill to get wood to build you a house. Oh, you are sick. Then I will force your children to work there. Say what now, you don't like that? Double shifts and half rations then! And yeah, gimme a second to grab my coat as you banish me again, ingrates!
Since I liked Frostpunk, I tried "This war of mine" from the same developer. Not a bad game, although definitely smaller indie title compared to Frostpunk. I like how they captured the feeling of desperation as your supplies run out and you are left with quite a few moral decisions in order to fight for survival. If I learned one thing from the game, it's to stock up on meds and tobacco if I ever end up in a besieged city And learn how to make moonshine.
I saw that the Ace Attorney series is ported to PC. Out of curiosity (I work in the field) I checked it out and find it quite hilarious so far. Especially since I know how court proceedings should work But the game obviously and honestly tries to be funny about it.

I started playing Forgotton Anne and it’s such a precious gem. It’s like Ghibli itself created the game, not only because of the art, but there’s also the typical female protagonist of their films and the whole fantasy setting.
It’s a plataform game, but there’s plenty of choices along the story and you have to be mindful because the game doesn’t tell you some options and it seems there are multiple endings.

As I just finished BF1's..."campaign"...I guess... I don't even know where to start hating on the thing... Stealth in BF games should die! And why an episode is like 15 minutes long? I might have finished all the single player portions in 3 hours, if not less. I downloaded the game in about that time, lol... Combat was horrible, levels uninspired... I am not touching BFV or any other BF single player mode ever again.
Ok, time to check "They are billions".
And I never played the "Dead space" games. They are in the Origin library anyway, might install them. Are they worth a recommend from you, good people? Horror usually is not a favorite of mine, but those games do have a nice reputation.

For me the first one is the best of the franchise. The second and third ones are "okay", but the third one was made during the NPC/Co-Op era so the AI gets wonky at times. I would recommend at least trying the first one, but I think the third is the least in the horror area as well. The second one has a sequence that my skirmish friends couldn't do. See spoiler if you want to know what it is, no real plot points involved. At one point you have to use a machine to put a needle through your eye and you need to line up your pupil with a beam of light.

Started Bound by Flame, this game is rough. You can see where The Technomancer made improvements, hopefully Greedfall takes another leap forward. I'm finding the dialogue falls under the so bad its good variety. All I do is laugh. I'll keep playing for now to see if the story grabs me. Also, I did find it rather funny that I could see my follower standing there watching as I was pinned to the ground by a beast during a cutscene. Thanks a lot, buddy!

So been a busy week which has limited my gaming but I finished Crysis 1 and will start playing Crysis 2 soon but having some fun pushing through an MEA PT I had going and decided to jump back into yesterday. So Cryis, got through the normally painful underwater maze of killer squids far more easily than I normally do. Got shot out some sort of exit tube and into freezing cold and had a hell of a time as not for the first time the aliens were not taking damage. Normally with the Gauss gun I can kill a normal enemy in one shot, they were taking 5 to 6. The harder enemies did not appear to be taking any damage at all. So ended up using the speed setting on the suit and just ran for it. Got to Prophet and as his suit is damaged he can't keep warm therefore I have to kill the enemies quickly and then move from one fire to another so he stays warm. Well again the damage issue was affecting me so again just had to leg it, fortunately that worked and I got Prophet through the timed section with 1 second to spare!!!!! Then had to defend some troops from aliens and this time the damn gun worked, did that and then jumped in a jeep with a turret and while Prophet drove I shot more aliens. We received a distress call and went to rescue a scientist and whilst Prophet freed her I manned an AA gun and shot lots of aliens. Sent the scientist off in a plane and then legged it to a staging area and killed some more aliens then got on a plane as a huge ALien machine attacked. A gung ho colonel too it on with a machine gun whilst Nomad left in the plane. Of course the pilot got shot so Nomad had to fly the plane. I like flying the plane but this mission often bugs for me and it did this time as well, basically the weapons were doing little to no damage and there were just hundreds of aliens and it was impossible to kill them all, so Nomad died. Reloaded and same thing, reloaded and this time the wepons worked properly and the enemies spawned in a realistic quantity. Bailed on a support mission and headed for the carrier which of course bugged with the quest marler moving all over the place and a gazillion enemies everywhere. Reloaded and this time it was fine. Got to the Aircraft Carrier, did a side mission to put our a fire and then fought a massive battle against a he alien. Nomad, Prophet, a scientist and Psycho took off back to the island to find out more about the aliens and that leads into the next game which is set in NY. The End. Pic's Swimming in the alien ship/building One of the aliens Being shot out of the Alien ship Prophet and his big gun Using the AA Gun Here comes the big machine The Big Alien Machine

Very proud of them and how they chopped, shot, and fried the bandits I want that game so badly, though at present I have no money for a Switch
I've already read up a few things on the game on the internet (trying to avoid as much spoilers as possible)
which of the three houses will you be joining? (once I have the game I plan on joining the Blue Lions, simply 'cause I love Dimitiri's post time-skip look )
also, have you played other Fire Emblem titles in the past, or is this your first one? I myself got into the series with Awakening and Fates (only finished Birthright on that one)

So the other day I grabbed my Fire Emblem Awakening copy and continued raising up my army and forming bonds to spawn the children units ...this sounds so wrong on so many levels
I ended with recruiting my bab Morgan, though I've yet to decide on how I'll build him and his sister Lucina (I may also end up deleting my playthrough and start from scratch)
so far I've ended up with the following pairings Mystra (my Avatar) + Chrom Sumia + Frederick Lissa + Gaius Maribelle + Vaike I generally don't go with the "these pairings make the strongest child units", mostly I'm like "these look cute together or make sense child wise" for example in the Maribelle + Vaike pairing, I always felt Brady looked and acted a lot like Vaike, so imo. it makes sense for him to be the father same for Inigo, who's father I plan on being Virion, Inigo is shy but also a shameless flirt, mirroring the personalities of both Olivia and Virion for me some of the children are a bit harder to pinpoint, so they tend to change a lot depending on my playthrough
for my own Avatar I plan on making her end as a Dark Knight, though as I said above I might delete my playthrough and start from scratch seeing as I went in the wrong direction with building up my character

ACOD Finished the Family quest line. Declined Aspasia's offer / plan; don't think any more, let me do the thinking, she said. Yeah right. Be your robot. Nope. I think I got Kass OP or something because I killed Aspasia in one strike. This fight usually takes a couple of strikes but this one is straight out WHAM! She didn't have time to do anything, just met the floor with the sword stuck in her head after the dialogue ended and died. An outright critical? I'm kind of split between wanting / not wanting to do Legacy because I really hate one particular fight; the stupid vanishing and chasing act. The last time I did that, I was foaming at the mouth. I'm also not looking forward to the medusa fight.

Started Crysis 2. Very linear compared to the first. And honestly, in the first game it was obvious the designers wanted to give a Predator vibe with the stealth and jungle. Now with the heat vision it's just so obvious Me likey. If only the energy didn't go down so damn fast. But I fixed that
I really should stop replaying KOTOR Decided to play for 30 minutes and just finish the last few missions on Taris...many hours later I tackled the Krayt dragon on Tatooine and realized half my day is gone Easily one of my top 3 games of all time. I just have so much fun with it even though I know it inside out. I like that the game is absolutely stable on the Origin client. Well, I put it in WinXP compatibility just in case, but had maybe just 1 crash on Win10 so far in 10+ hours of play.

I'm having a long 4 days weekend thanks to a public holiday and taking Friday off (unpaid). I've been playing Cliff Empire almost nonstop. I've never played a game so addictive... maybe Anno 1440. I'm a mess! I barely sleep, too hyper, can't unwind. I hate when I get this obsessive about a game. It's really no different to a crack junkie. I forget to eat and drink and eventually I don't even feel anything anymore. Scary. As for the game itself, it has been a ride... I almost gave up on it repeatedly because the hazards and trading requests are so very unfair. Yesterday I thought I was "done" because I couldn't see how I was supposed to fix the crazy power requirement. Cliff 2 was stuck in a loss/gain balance and 70.000 in debt... Not sure how I managed to revive it. I just desperately changed trade numbers at random and it worked. And suddenly I had a ton of batteries to carry over at night when all my solar energy goes poof. Because I guess I got unlucky with the RNG and none of my three cliffs has 100% wind conditions. One cliff sucks for wind AND solar. It's also the cliff that has no steel reserves... but it's the food island so it did well overall and can endure losing money at night. The big issue was the finance island because it has barely anything to trade and wasn't making enough money to import food and other stuff. So for a while I was suddenly swimming in money. It felt SO GOOD. But in this game you're always only a breath away from losing it all. A bad sequence of hazards that effect the sun and I'm in deep shit unless you're into efficiency builds which I'm not. I want to build pretty. I want islands doing different things which sadly is not a good idea here. So I was pretty proud of myself for more or less making it work with cliffs separated into food production/industry/finances & tourism. I got cliff 2 out of the 70.000 debt. My industry island was making money like crazy. Sitting at 320.000 at one point. Food cliff was at 120.000. Fiances eventually at 60.000. Not bad at all. But then for no reason power was all over the place again without me doing anything. Batteries all used up. Why?? And THEN came bad weather and I lost something like 100.000 overall. Just for 8 days of rain... what the hell?! My food island was suddenly down 30.000 and almost spiraling out of control because of the power shortage. It can take quite a while for things to recover. And when you get hit with the wrong hazard that targets the struggling island AGAIN, then you start to hate the game, lol. On the bright side, things are stable again right now and I'm moving through the special task phase that will eventually result in unlocking settling on the ground again (which is currently still toxic). This takes a shitton of time. I've probably spent 50h with it already. If you do an efficiency built you probably progress twice as fast. But for a 10 bucks indie game this is quite surprising. I'm spending as much time with it a I do with the Anno series at full price. What Cliff Empire lacks in production chain complexity it makes up with all kinds of challenges. I spent maybe 5 hours just completing the resource time sink task of adding support beams to the cliffs. Previously I had to settle 2200 people which is not easy. The more people the more issues you have with the food chain. Then I had to have high prestige which I got quickly because my cliffs are REALLY well now. Relatively speaking... which means I'll probably go bankrupt next session, lol. You have to have all goods at max supply for that. I had to buy some from the trading post because no way is my industry producing enough for three cliffs! It managed 2 at least. You can do fine without luxury goods but if you want to "beat" the game you have to do it all perfectly.
Now I'm two medals away from the endgame phase. Currently doing a surprisingly easy looking trading task. Only problem is selling 1000 water because I rely on IMPORTING it. If water goes short EVERYTHING collapses. Nearly killed me several times during fire season. So that's going to be a balancing act. Gotta do it very carefully, sell only 25-50 a day... I DO recommend this game to masochists!

Goodbye Greece... hello Mojave. AKA welcome to FO New Vegas. Or PS3 game design.
What I don't like:
Voiceless protagonist. Voiceless protagonist and no cutscene which means you don't get to see the character you've spent half an hour creating... that often. No distinction between quests in quest journal. (Gonna really miss you DAI/ Andromeda/ Witcher 3/ Odyssey) New game with the title of 'worse character creator ever'. I mean I get it, as my wife pointed out they didn't want you to create abominations but having sliders move when you are trying to move another one just really throws off my groove man. And the mini map compass sucks arse.
Despite these minor annoyances...which could still snowball...I am actually enjoying myself mostly. The game seems to have a lot of personality and heart attached to it. Though in my first quest with Sunny I got her dog killed and the settler did...and my wife exclaimed...I didn't know you could get the dog killed!...yeah way to make me feel better about myself. I do rather like the dialogue system so far aside from the voiceless aspect. Like having it tied to your attributes...your attributes and perks also look good and could create a lot of good RP opprotunities in the future once I dive in. I really like having attribute points to assign again. And I also have to update my controller scheme to modern specs (flip VATS and fire around mostly)
My Courier, Alexandra, I think to get over the annoyances in the combat...though the gunplay actually seems better then FO 4 so far...I think I am going to make her smart, speechifying, and hopefully have a companion who can be a meat shield while I cower from range and snipe some bitches.

My CRIT build has resulted in that outcome for nearly all the bosses, dialogue is still going whilst said "Boss" is dead on the floor!!!! My sentiment exactly with both the LoTFB Fight and Medusa, really hate that type of fight and those two in particular in this game. Same with the end boss in Origins in the order of the ancients with his teleporting bullshit!!!!!

Yeah Crysis 2 is really linear but I don't mind that. I also like that you can stealth kill so much with a knife or pistol with a silencer and that the maps make you mix it up with what weapons to use and how you approach them. I also like that I hate Commander Lockhart so much, it makes killing him so much fun!!!!! Do you mean the stealth energy on your suit? I just try and plan getting to cover and recharging where possible. Looking forward to starting it today!!!!

Played through AC Odyssey the Fate of Atlantis Episode 1. When I'm not being confused or angry at the environment it was kinda nice. Least favorite were the bigger forts, because you can't save midway through and my build is two bad dodge rolls away from a reload. Favorites were all the pretty people and being able to escape combat by doing sick jumps off mountains. Am now in a bit of a pickle since I could really go with returning to Greece for a bit of upgrading and stuff, but the game aint having it and I'm too lazy to redo the last two battles. My wee heart can't take it. So time to git gud I guess.

Witcher 1
Close to the end of chapter 3 finally. After Leuvaardan's team decrypted the Salamandra notes, he told Geralt to meet his guard contact to set up a way to get to their hidden base. Well, after several wrong selections, I finally picked the right one. Met up in the sewers to get to the part of the Trade Quarter mysteriously sealed off. Found the base and cleared it, met Radovid through the magic mirror (why did he have to go bat-shit crazy in 3? even when talking to him later in his hide-out, he seems quite reasonable in this game), then discovered the secret identity of Captain Vincent: he's a werewolf!
Well, after letting a hive of vampires stick around, Geralt couldn't very well kill this guy. Afterwards, he went to talk to Carmen and yep, Vincent is who she was talking about. So, the parsley shirt didn't work, the special potion didn't work (too bad, because Geralt had to run all over town looking for a virgin to cry a single tear for it). Only true love could cure him and apparently it did. I decided to end for the day on something finally going right for a change.
In the main quest....I looked for Yaevinn to see if he would help me out but I couldn't find him anywhere. He wasn't at the Scoia'tael camp and he wasn't with the druids, where he was earlier in the chapter. Not sure where he went after flubbing the bank robbery and escaping through the sewers. So, ended up getting Siegfried on board again.
Next up will be locating and getting to Salamandra's main base. I think this the kikimore nest where you have to dance through the tunnels while escaping the queen? So bummed she gets to kill the Professor instead of me.

I never used it but thought that's what it was for.
