So met Dr. Henry in Jacobstown and he had me start looking into the problem with the Nightstalkers...specifically a mutation where they are 'naturally' invisible. I also recruited Lilly while I was there because she was the next companion and she had a vessted interest in stopping these Nightstalkers. Went down there, had a pretty gay ole time, Lilly is freaky with her stealth girl perk having to constantly uncrouch to get her. Towards the end I was once more having trouble finding the objective so I did the good ole fallback 'triangulation', started walking in one direction, saw it was in the wrong direction, then moved in another, wrong direction...then when I checked again I was standing right on top of the thing 'what the' I went and then began checking all around me and I was standing right on a body so I looted it...which completed the objective.
Then things went screwy...as they do. Apparently some 'NCR mercs' were engaging the super mutants of Jacobstown and they were acting all ra ra. Went over to them and the options were engage them, try to pass an 85 speech check...when I only have 75 at that time...or pay them off worth 2500 caps. Well I never really trust doing that with mercs and I didn't have the speech...so i engaged. Where Lilly low and behold decided to huddle up, just like Veronica, and well switching her to ranged though really helps since she has some kind of auto rifle which let me spray and mop up the mercs. But Marcus was dead...so that was a reload. Second attempt got further away from the action and up the slope...started sniping...Lilly and EDE went down, gained NCR Infamy....and well died. Third time just paid them off. Not trying to gain any infamy with the NCR but they have some splanin to do.
Then I went in and gave the cracked Stealth Boy to Doctor Henry, he started talking about a mark two prototype, tested it on Lilly, Keene wanted it, I shotgunned Keene in the face. And also didn't have Lilly continue the experiments.

dazk Yeah the green portal is for getting between Greece and that other place, but I was at the point where the two episodes merged. So I'd been kicked out of Elysium for bad behavior into the real world. So going back into the Animus put me face to face with an angry boss fight and I figured that I'd have to reload to before the end battles if I wanted to use the portal that way. Granted I might have just been able to use the portal before the final cutscene, but still I doubt it. --- AC Odyssey Fate of Atlantis start of episode 2. Ended up just raging through the angry boss. Took like 20 tries or something and a lot of swearing and gesturing. First win was funny in hindsight since I powered through the last of his health on the Battle Rage of Ares. Except Alexios was on fire when the boss died. And couldn't spam healing quick enough in that small gap between it running out and the cutscene. And was too daft to roll the fire out while the buff was still turned on. Wasn't funny back then though... Took a few tries before the second win, where I did remember to drop and roll each time things started getting heated. It was also kinda funny when the cutscene ended and I realized it hadn't really been that hard, I'd just been excited to move on the story instead of relaxing and just focusing on the fight. Bah. Ended up putting the game down for three days or something. Loaded up the game today and found Alexios looking mournfully at the boss. I feel you. He didn't deserve this. Even if he was a pain. Moved on a little and had a good chuckle over finding Tom Hiddleston down there. Well not really but the likeness is super distracting and all seriousness he might have commanded is just gone. Poof. Granted he might not look as like him tomorrow. But for now he is a Puny God! The head pat was a nice touch though. Ended the session on the verge of adventure and my escortee was willing to ride Phobos with me. So next session is co-op adventures riding a unicorn!

Finished Bound by Flame. It was fine. If I hadn't already beaten The Technomancer I probably would've quit. But being used to the combat already was helpful. Also, the dialogue is often so ridiculous you can't help but laugh. LOL.
I think I'm going to continue my journey though AA action RPGs and play ELEX next.

POE II Deadfire
Came across the first additions to the game. Protag had a book thrust at her and it turned out the god Woedica wanted to talk. eeeewwww. I've no liking for Woedica though she represented justice, oaths and promises. Her followers way of maintaining her creed is ruthless and merciless. They clean and cut with a broad sweep, not caring they mowed down innocents in the process. Having had close encounters in the meetings with the gods, I cannot support her views; she doesn't believe the kith (mortals) can ever achieve the goals the gods wanted for them, it's better for them to be controlled, directed and obedient.
Having come across this change, what else she would reveal, I've no idea how the choices with Eothas is going to be like. It's a sure bet the endings are to be different from what I know from previous PTs.

Beat the final boss in Remnant: From the Ashes last night. It was a fun battle and one not nearly as hard as the Undying King was, though maybe that was because I had the advantage of higher level equipment this time.
Anyways the story was interesting, though not something to write home about. The conclusion does leave open the narrative so that new content can be added in without issue. My only real complaint was that the NPCs don't acknowledge your conclusion of the game; indeed once their individual side quests and unique dialogues are over with they don't have anything new to say. In some ways it plays kinda like vanilla Destiny did with it's conclusion; though I don't find it as bad or annoying with Remnant.
The gameplay loop is what really draws me in and I have started over on essentially New Game+. There are still bosses to fight that I didn't encounter on my initial playthrough, and I still need to max out my weapons and armor. Really this game reminds me in a lot of ways of Phantasy Star Online 1 & 2, a game I played for an inordinate amount of time when I was younger; the grind for better gear isn't needlessly steep, and the way the gameplay funnels you into going after the next dungeon, the next boss, and the next difficulty is subtle enough that I don't mind starting over with NG+ whereas in other games I tend to just put down the controller after reaching that point.
In short, I like the game and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a AA action RPG/shooter hybrid set in an engaging universe.

Frostpunk - trying to finish the last scenario on Hard difficulty. It's a wonder my monitor is still in one piece For those that never heard of the game - it's a strategy game where you try to keep a minor settlement alive and content (cuz "happy" those bastards won't ever get) in a super cold and deadly environment. The game is real hard even on normal difficulty and the Hard preset is quite the challenge. I failed countless times. Everyone was just unhappy, dying and everything in-between those. My resources were barely enough, I lacked people to put on research, couldn't build better housing, couldn't afford adequate medical care... One thing I got going was food supply, but those citizens just ain't happy enough to only eat. They want to be warm with a roof over their head and all their limbs attached to their bodies... You can't have it all!!! My best attempt to finish the scenario involved creating a combination of a fascist religious order that thrived on exploiting child labor and murdering anyone that tried to raise a voice. And you know what resource it took to put this in place? Yeah - only food. Who knew people who do a morning prayer and get an extra food ration at the church won't give two f****s about their kid working 16 hours shift in the coal mine on half a ration per day... And everyone was ok with me destroying their tents (only home they had) in order to build another church
Jumped to Crysis 2 to relieve some stress by shooting everything in sight... no luck. I continued my game from a point where I had to go deeper into the alien zone. And because of some alien interference my screen went to a terrible state, shaking and distorting everything. I am ok if it just for a short time, but this went pretty much for the entire level and I was at a point where Alt+F4 and Uninstall looked tempting. Then at the end of the level I lost my favorite gun and so far haven't found a replacement for it. Gimme my Stealth Scar back dammit. I liked to sneak behind enemies and emptying half a mag in their backs while still in invisible mode Yeah, I know about the Stealth kill option...what about it?

Well that was a mess.
I was happily wiping out mythical species when suddenly I had to kill my dad... again.
Bit of a theme there. Anyway, suddenly I died.. in the future.. and the game seemed to imply it should have ended. Even though I hadn't finished other plot lines.. Anyway, clearly the game realised this too, by this not awkward dialogue whatsoever: So then I was dumped into this cutscene, which was clearly (again!) implying the end of the game! Did no-one playtest this? They could have easily gated off part of the ending to check other bits had been done, or at least changed the tone of the cutscenes!
Bah.

I am sure they were aware of it, remember that you are doing this all through the Animus which in essence is just like watching an interactive DVD. In your gameplay you just decided to watch the end before finishing the rest of the movie first. I got some hints from people to leave Atlantis to the very end for story reasons as that's where it made the most sense. Also helped as it meant I could do the Medussa and The Minotaur fights later on when I was better armed etc. So basically I did absolutely everything I could before I finished the family story and then I did the Atlantis stuff.

So New Vegas actually went fairly smoothly. Though I think I got into only one firefight the entire time.
It started off interestingly enough having to pass a 75 speech check...which I thought I had 75 but apparently I only had 70...after double checking I indeed had 70...which was weirdly unfortunate. But then I had salesman weekly or whatever it was so I read it, got the speech check, and recruited the companion Arcade in the Old Mormon Fort. Which I haven't had a chance to test out his 'combat skills' yet...of which I am dubious if he even has any...so I am off to try and find a fight to get into to test him out.
The administrator of the Old Mormon Fort also wanted me to A. go set up a supply line and B. get two people off of chems.
The two people with chems had the same drug dealer...and all he needed was a simple speech check to be convinced not to. And then had to pass speech checks to convince them not to take drugs...go cold turkey...and go to the Mormon Fort. Which worked out realtively nicely...I mean going cold turkey may not be the best of ideas but on the other side of the equation it saved me a lot of work. Though I did see one of the guys in the Atomic Wrangler later. Speaking of which...
Picked up a couple of quests in there. One wants me to collect a whole lot of debts..and then kill a thief...the other wants me to pick up escorts. Got the debts no problem but it was a bit funny I did cajole the ghoul of the group to give me more caps...but I let him keep his shirt. Then the woman is heading back to California...with a lot less caps to her name. All in a good days hard work.
A curious event happened though. Got to talking to Old Ben about being a courier where it was revealed that Alex was an EX Courier. Kind of interesting since I didn't think there was much of an ex anything.

So Crysis 2, haven't played for the last few days have been having fun having RL adventures involving visiting many Hotels and drinking too much with a friend. Anyway so last session Alcatraz was making his way to a facility do to a deep layer scan on his suit. So he fought his way there killing Cell soldiers and Aliens galore and then entered the facility with Gould. It was of course a trap and during the scan Lockhart and Strickland turn up and Alcatraz and Gould are taken prisoner. Alcatraz gets his suit shut down and loaded on to a chopper but as its taking off a big metal tube used to spread the spore burst up through the road and causes the chopper to crash. Anyway the suit incorporates more of the "spore" that the aliens use to kill people and Alcatraz found himself unconscious and then had to manually restart his heart using damn stupid QTE's, they are especially annoying as they are just there for the sake of it and serve no purpose whatsoever. Anyway when he got his heart started again, he then gets video messaged by Joseph Hargreaves one of the suits designers and told basically he had to go get an upgrade for the suit to help him shut down the alien spore generating machines from Hargreaves companies offices in NY. Pic's Getting Scanned and captured Capture goes wrong and Alien Spore machine Hargreaves and Stealth killing an alien

Where was it you had the screen problems, was it the central park mission, that can be pretty full-on and man do I hate those stealth Ceph!!!! The Stealth Scar is my favourite too, I lost mine somehow as well and I think the game does it when you auto-pick up ammo sometimes. What I really hate is that the game sometimes won't auto pick up ammo if you are using a Scarab and the weapon on the ground is a stealth Scarab so you have to attach a scope to get the ammo!!!! The last mission I did was "Into The Heart" and I was a Stealth Lord!!! Impressed even myself!!!! It could have been Central Park. It was so bad, that I doubt anyone can miss that level when it happens It annoyed me so much that I just charged in trying to kill things as fast as possible and get it over with. Unfortunately it didn't work like that Those Cephs are always more than they initially seem. And they can see me with peripheral vision from a mile away when I stealth stab their friends. The tanky armored Ceph is quite annoying. I can't tell if grenades even hurt him. Weak point is at his back, but he takes so much damage even there. And the energy shield Cephs can take a beating too. Plus they look quite menacing with that red glow and slick armor design.
The last few levels had me engage in a sort of urban war between humans and aliens. It's funny that both are absolute sniper elites when it comes to shooting at me, but when they have to fight each other suddenly they have to come into melee range in order to land a hit. The game runs really nice and stable throughout all those explosions, smoke, gunfire and NPCs fighting. Always above 110 FPS and everything is so smooth. Brings that PC Master Race pride in your heart.
My new toy - stealth shotgun! Chews human enemies for breakfast, but those pesky aliens can take a hit even to the head. If I don't unload the entire shot straight into their helmet, they survive. And I found my targeting issue. Scopes should be just for sniping. In other shooters I am using the scope for everything, but here it's a handicap in medium-close range since enemies can move so far and fast that you can lose them in the limited scope area.
And a shout out to Plague Tale: Innocence. That game looks and runs amazing. It's also really well done with it's atmosphere, characters and story. But I got too cocky and had to learn that a 15 year old girl, armed with a sling and stones, should not be attacking a fully plate armored knight...

Central Park is the one where you get dropped off by the chopper and has trenches and tube things everywhere. The getting annoyed thing and going full Rambo has happened to me a couple of times lately. I just pretend I am doing an online Co-Op mission in something like The Division. The big armoured Ceph you need to use the missile launcher (RAW?) against, having played the game before I know when to expect them so I know to make sure I have one on hand same with the damn helicopters. Or if you can stealth close enough I throw C4 on them!!!! Yes PC master race is such a good thing, still working on the wife to approve the finance to get a new monitor but its taking some work. It may just appear when she goes OS in a month!!!!

It may just appear when she goes OS in a month!!!! She must be a smart wife She knows if you get 1440p (or 4k, lol) monitor with a high refresh rate, next thing you will ask for is a new GPU. Because your 1070Ti (if I recall?) can give you 1440p at 60 FPS Ultra on most games, but you need to push for those 144 FPS, amirite? And the only worthy current options for an upgrade here are the 2080 Super or 2080Ti. Or a 1080Ti if you find a good one for a deal like 350$ or less. Going high end on a PC can be an addiction. You do it once (like I did recently first with a GPU, then with everything else) and just can't stop
So yeah, the wife is protecting you. Avoid that high end PC opium. It gives you resolutions and refresh rates that you couldn't even dream before, but then you realize there can be even more of it

Decided to replay Ori and the Blind Forest. Prologue made me cry again. Such a beautiful game.

New Vegas: Continuing on the missions to find all the escorts for The Atomic Wrangler. Got the last two after some more map shannangans and actually got into a few random firefights which proved that Arcade actually uses ranged weapons so that was good news...energy weapons...which apparently he has a thing for.
So running around and finally got to the location where the sexbot was rumored to be. It was filled with giant rats and the like. Which was perhaps the most cathartic experience of the game since I had a 20 gauge shotgun with like 120 + rounds of ammo. Rats in a barrel. Just cleared them out with vats point blank...Clickity...BOOM! Then I tested Fisto out and everyone went on their merry way.

Got into the endgame of Vampire: the Masquerade: Bloodlines, and found out that its reputation for turning into an action game towards the end is well-deserved. Mildly disappointing, given how quality and multi-route most of the game up to that point had been, although nothing is quite as annoying as going through the Warrens.

Just ran through the new DLC for Metro Exodus. It was good but much too short, took like an hour and a half.

New Vegas: Continuing to slog around Freeside looking at solving issues for the Kings and also getting Rex. On that note I insulted, quite lightly, some witness to an attack on the Kings and I lost fame for it...quite surprised and annoying. I think I should be able to get it back. I also had an annoying glitch where Oris, the conman, decided to just stay put instead of heroically running ahead of me. I actually did have the intelligence in order to expose his plan...and then I started thwacking on his dead friends with a machate before turning to guns, a fire fight broke out and I killed em all. Then of course I was able to 'get Rex' by having Julie tell me about Dr. Henry in Jacobstown. Also it was fun talking to the Kings about the King. Thinking we worshipped him or something.

So short burst of Crysis 2 play yesterday. Basically fought my way through three different maps of aliens, one on a highway I always find hard and then sabotaged spore conduits to and cause it to eventually explode. Then jumped into a main spore tube and the nano-suit did a whole lot of analysis and recalibrating and then Alcatraz got shot out of it then hen had to run to avoid a dam being opened to flood the city and didn't make it. Delta team headed by Chino who was on the sub at the beginning were looking for Alcatraz after the flood and then they all had to fight there way to a building. Alcatraz left them there to scout ahead and there is a really difficult fight a long a flooded freeway and then along a road to an area where Alcatrazmeets up with more marines to be extracted. Pic's In the spore tube as the suit does its magic and getting shot out After going for a swim

Watched preview game play of Control, a third person mystery horror action adventure game. Protag is female. Mouth animation during dialogue was ok for the protag but very odd for the char called the director. Her mouth movements are exaggerated. As in when you speak the word big, normal mouth movements are at best described as minimal when the word is spoken but the char opens her mouth wide, showing her teeth. The char is probably not human, the way she talks is so odd and disturbing. Her eyes are big and glassy. Rather off-putting. The story thus far borders on mystery / horror / supernatural ; protag is looking for her brother, infiltrates org called the Bureau. Building is locked down due to an invasion by being / beings called Hiss. The CEO was dead when she found him at the beginning of the game and she automatically inherited his position by picking up a supernatural pistol beside him which seemed to have assumed many forms in the past; Excalibur, etc. Yep, that meant everyone who's not affected by the HISS acknowledged her as the CEO. When the protag talks to herself, it's unclear who she's talking to because sometimes it seems as if she's breaking the fourth wall. At the moment, streamer is running all over the place, looking in every corner for loot / info and keeps backtracking because he doesn't want to miss anything and he keeps orienting himself saying; this is where I started, ok good. Not getting good vibes for this game; I'm already zzzZZZzz. I know I'm not getting this right off. Why? It's a epic goon store title.

Pretty much the only game that I've played the last few weeks is Fire Emblem: Three Houses and today I took my precious students into the wilds to kill their first bandits. Very proud of them and how they chopped, shot, and fried the bandits I want that game so badly, though at present I have no money for a Switch
I've already read up a few things on the game on the internet (trying to avoid as much spoilers as possible)
which of the three houses will you be joining? (once I have the game I plan on joining the Blue Lions, simply 'cause I love Dimitiri's post time-skip look )
also, have you played other Fire Emblem titles in the past, or is this your first one? I myself got into the series with Awakening and Fates (only finished Birthright on that one)
Woah I am late 3H is my 3d Fire Emblem game. Started wth Awakening and then did Fates, first Conquest and then Birthright. Never did revelations, youtubed it in the end and was pretty happy with that decision. My initial house in 3H was the Black Eagles, was the house that caught my attention first but even then I had to put the controller down and think for a while as the first playthrough always is a bit special. Also managed to play through both the Golden Deer and Blue Lions routes and booooooy did I not expect to fall so completely for the Lions as I did. Dimitri is a very precious boi ^^
