Witcher 3
I played for all of about 45 minutes last night but I took care of the noonwraith and am now helping the guy who wants to find his brother lost in the battle. I found a map online with the herbalist's house noted, so I plan on paying her a visit soon. Hmm, isn't she the one who has a patient and the only possible help is witcher potion? If you don't give it to her, the patient dies. If you do give it to her, the patient doesn't die but something even worse happens?
Edit: Found the missing brother and his Nilfgaard comrade. Convinced the brother to take them both home. Ran across a "merchant" looking for something left behind on his wagon when it was attacked by....something. Turns out he was the attacker who wanted to stop medicine getting to Nilfgaard troops. Geralt (after many failed attempts) chased him down and told him to bugger off, without his medicine, which Geralt kept. Found the herbalist's house but she's not home. Finally made it to level 2!

Still in gaming slump. At least no PC gaming. I still have some of my mobile games installed that I regularly pop-in. Marvel Future Fight, The Arcana (waiting for updates), Pokemon Masters and that damn Magikarp Jump game that made me emotional when Pigeotto swooped in and stole my dumb Splashing baby from me. Oh, and I watch Untitled Goose Game gameplays because I'm too cheap to actually buy it. 10/10, would watch quack again.

Replaying first Witcher, my favorite in trilogy. Playing on hardest difficulty of course and Swallow with dominant Rubedo makes game like walk in the park; other alchemy stuff is helpful, but not necessary at all. I'm half way through chapter 3 ATM, running around, doing side quests. There is significant number of ladies in this chapter who Gerald can bang so I have to pay attention to that as well.

More Devil May Cry 4, now with less whining and more pics. Mostly going back for this part, so a lot less getting lost. Going through the forest was still a bit traumatic. So they put portals at the exits, so spent some time running around the area until realizing that the portal under the bridge (where there was no exit before) was probably the right move. Then met again with this cutie. And she wrecked me. Since I didn't have Nero's grabby arms and while I could have sworn I upgraded Swordmaster Dante still wouldn't rave in the air. And since she likes to hover I could barely put a dent in her with his measly slapping around in the air. So look it up and see that raving in the air is the way to go. So rage quit the mission and restart it, since I used some items. Except it doesn't work like in DMC3 and I'd still used them. But did find out that the style I actually upgraded was Gunslinger. So that was an egg on my fight. Invested in air raves and BOOM easy mode activated. And got some fancy gloves outta it. Made my way out and met an awful enemy. He's super weak, but just appears for a moment under you and if you walk into him he teleports you to an area where you need to fight multiple mooks before being teleported back to the area you were in. And that's just swell when you've got flying lobstermen around you, blocking the screen so you can't see the sneaky teleport fecker. So big sighs of relief when making it out of the forest. Where I met this bastard. He's the worst. He's got a lightning shield to start with, flashes around the room like the energizer bunny on speed and hits hard. Well, this one wasn't too bad, since it was a big area with spaces to dodge. But the second meeting with him was harrowing. Cramped room, little space to maneuver and him jumping around like a maniac. After he killed me 3 times the game had mercy on me and put the dunce hat on him so I could beat him. Otherwise the area was fine. Easy to navigate. Boss was fun. Had these lovely ladies at the start. And they were connected to this guys brother (didn't have good shot of the one with the red, but same design just different colors), much cuteness to go around. But the fight was very straight forward. Then the final of the return bosses. Big fire lion guy. Even easier than last time so that was nice. Cutscene with him was funny and the introduction of his weapon was sublime. Then Mothman made his final show. Not as fun when you can't grab his knives and toss them in his face, but there was other fun to be had. And then the big guy. He was a pain. Or well, the second bit was since I didn't figure to use the super duper blade I got a few seconds ago and was even put on the screen with the blurb that it made this mess but it can also END IT. So, well. Egg on my face. Ended the session after that mission, which was again fitting because of character reasons. Had quite a lot of fun this time around. So that was nice.

I love TW1 as well, there really isn't much to play TM maybe I might play that again soon but just not sure I want to go back to the gameplay mechanics!!!! The challenge for me with the ladies was always the one in Chapter 2 in The temple Quarter I think who wanders the streets and you have to give her the right sort of flowers??? I don't think she had a name just "Gossip" or something like that.

Flowers are from Ch1, you must give Tulips you found on dead body to peasant girl, gossip girl in Ch2 takes both red and gold woman's gloves as gift if you take some sort of frock route. Noble woman in Ch3 takes Kikimore claw IIRC.

Witcher 3
Went to talk to the Nilfgaardian garrison captain about a girl. In exchange for killing the rampaging griffin, he might tell Geralt something useful.
Went to talk to the herbalist about bait and a hunter with additional info. Leave it to the army to muff things up. Some soldiers killed a nesting female griffin and....surprise, surprise....her mate took his revenge out of their hides. Seems a shame to have to kill the beast just for protecting its own, but given the amount and type of bones found in the nest that predate the Nilfgaardians' presence, sounds like they are a menace anyway.
Also found an old lady's pan.

Some Auroa moments.
All the cloak and dagger gets Maurice very excited.
Who's "we" little man? Uuuh You're kidding right? Look Maurice kick up that computer of yours or I will whoop your ass. And keep your cool, we're not out of the woods yet. Far from it. I'll high five you when we're safe. Deal? Well, they call me the hunter, that's my name Call me the hunter, that's how I got my fame Ain't no need to hide, ain't no need to run 'Cause I've got you in the sights of my gun Fog in Fen bog. Say bye bye while you're still alive Your time is due
Hunting the hunter...I popped three wolves here and I got the "hunt the hunters" chievo. Don't know where I can find that achievement list though because it isn't listed in club challenges. Still recent events have made the sentinels lose respect of the wolves. In fighting coming?
Now you see me, now you don't.
Morning mood.
Spotting some interesting tracks...
Tip of the day: For those of you that are thirsting for some AWR grunting make a female Nomad and go mountineering.

One of the best quests in the game. Full of atmospheric horror, lies and deceit. It's also expertly tied into related characters and quests in Velen. I didn't realize Vserad originally owned Crow's Perch, the Bloody Baron's keep.

Thaler was the intruder. You find his monocle in the cabin. I don't think I found that.....was too busy looting other stuff. Geralt may not be a thief, but I totally am since I am flat broke and want to buy stuff. I did scrape together enough coin and crafting materials to upgrade my armor. Then I was wondering what happened to the armor it replaced, only to take a good look at the schematic and see it was one of the needed ingredients.

Yeah that's a constant conundrum for me, I don't want to be a thief but games are just way too stingy early on with the cash!!!!!! Assassins Creed games, well the last couple at least have led me to start by spending a heap of time in the first couple of areas to harvest XP, resources and Coin. I was level 15 of 60 before I left the second area of the last AC game just so I could gather a heap of stuff so I didn't have to constantly be worrying about resources etc. Even then the game required so much stuff to upgrade I still just had to spend some days just doing resource gathering which wasn't too bad as I like the hunting but it was still time consuming and I feel bad being a mass slaughterer of beasts.

I forgot to go back to the old lady's house to see if I could find the monocle. I did however, yesterday, find Yennefer's defunct raven crystal that she uses in the opening cinematic. I wonder if I'll have the chance to return it to her?
As for today, Geralt and Vesemir beat up on the old royal griffin. I couldn't figure out how to use the damn crossbow so didn't get any free potshots at it. Had to chase it down and kill it the old fashioned way. Afterwards, I took the very scenic route back to the Nilfgaard camp so I could clean out all the remaining question marks on the map (I turned them off while working the main quest, then turned them back on to see how much I missed).
Killed bandits, monsters, and beasties alike. Found some good loot, the Viper sword schematics, and a bunch of junk to dismantle for usable crafty bits. I really like being able to dismantle just about everything into resources - just wish I could do it myself and not have to pay someone to do it for me.
Turned in the griffin quest, received the news that Yen was basically right next door the whole time, then told the captain he could stuff his reward where the sun don't shine. Paid the quartermaster to craft a new set of Witcher blades, courtesy of the Viper School, then went back to the inn to meet up with Vesemir. This is where the brawl breaks out, right? Since the only other visitors in the inn now are all labeled "bandits," seems like trouble's brewing. Left that hot mess for tomorrow.
Guess who made it to W3? Never did find the guy when I took Roche's path.
Wanted to grab this painting but alas, it wasn't lootable.

I don't play so much these months, no time. But I do play some. I've gone back to a 'Banished' -game that left, because the main challenge of surviving and establishing a prosperous village was accomplished. At the time, I was sated and had no appetite for the next challenge, controlled growth without collapsing anything.
I've done that now though. I've established two additional markets and village centers.
I've come to realize that I really like this game. This is only my second serious game (don't count those that ended immediately with everybody starving or freezing to death), and much of the gameplay satisfaction is still about figuring out what is going on in the game, and thus how you must play it, the dos and the do nots. I've done well this time. There have been deaths, falling trees, childbirth etc, but nothing I have control over. I have not lost a single villager to starvation, cold, or mining and quarry accidents (I don't have any mine or quarry this time). And of course I have 100% health and 100% happiness.
My immediate concern currently is Wool. My 25 sheep is no longer enough to supply the larger population with warm coats. And so it goes on. Always something.

Didn't know you could find that thing. Off to youtube to see if I can locate it. Welp, I missed my chance. After killing the Griffon it's not there.

Didn't know you could find that thing. I thought it odd Geralt didn't pick it up in the cinematic but I guess this is why? Didn't watch the video but good to know I can give it back to Yen at some point.

Well... I got Nintendo Switch today. For now I'm checking freebies and demos, since I'm still not sure what to get (the game I really want is like a month away... and that's when I originally planned to get Switch ). I was tempted to get Diablo III or even Switch's Diablo III limited edition, but in the end I went for standard red and blue version without game.

I've been playing Silverfall the past week and I'd forgotten how much fun it is. I have a human female mage and a an elf female fighter. In most high fantasy games elves usually make for better mages, not so in Silverfall as humans have some racial skills that make them very suited to be mages the elves not so much. Though any of the races can be any class. My human mage, Imoen is level 25 and about slog her way through the Cloudworks sewers oh what fun. My elf fighter, Nathyrra is level 5 and is still in the Silverfall refuge camp and will be for sometime.

Took a break from brawling devils in the streets in DMC4 to beat up citizens in the streets in My Time at Portia. Good times.
