For some reason, I keep thinking of Mark Rolston (Drake) in Aliens whenever I see Norman Osborne.

The game contains a reflection of a pair of towers not actually standing in the game. A rather tasteful (and subtle) tribute I thought...

I don't really have any problems with Black Cat's look. I like the more somewhat conservative, high tech look as opposed to her exposing original design. They at least remembered to keep the long white hair, Black Cat's trademark feature.

I love this game and the spirit and effort put into it. Though I'm not a fan of Electro's design or Negative's origin, what they did with a certain other Spider-Man was cool. Just don't kill off or replace the real deal. Hoping for more outfits (Spider-Armor, Unlimited, Amazing Fantasy, Symbiote, Captain Universe).

It was a pretty clever combination of the Ultimate design and classic color scheme. I also like how the scars on his face actually looks like his classic mask.

The Symbiote Suit won't be in this game (for obvious reasons). But yes, if they do kill of Parker for whatever reason that would cause a big backlash for Insomniac.

Normally, I’d be heading into my third playthrough of a game like this. Being out of town/away from my PS4 meant that I didn’t get to start it until this past Tuesday. Unexpected, real world complications have drastically limited how much time I’ve been able to play it since then.
I’m only in Act 2, with Pete around Level 32. I’ve been completing nearly all side content before advancing the story missions. Some of the side quests are sort of ass, but others are really good. Those have been a mixed bag. The main story has been good so far. I’m looking forward to seeing how it unfolds. If it weren’t for the myriad advertisements before launch, I’d have no idea of whom to expect/not expect as foes for this game.
Acquiring new costumes has been pretty fun, though I mostly use the Stark and Dark outfits. I disagree with the devs’ logic on denying us the black costume (it’s a skin, same as all the other costumes that appear with no regard to continuity). Still, at least their comments suggest that Venom could appear in a sequel.
I’ve not progressed far, so I’m avoiding most of the thread for now. I hope I get to catch up on my playtime, but I have new house guests and a disrupted rhythm to my days, now. It’s definitely impacting my enjoyment of the game. I hope I can get better immersed in the days to come.

I have just finished the mission Dual Purpose, which means I also recently played through And The Award Goes To... HOLY COW, was that an intense moment! You could feel the tension and suspense in the air as you navigate Miles through the rubbles of the Osborn Rally, with Demons shooting and stabbing anyone still alive. I jumped when the body of a dead driver suddenly fell next to Miles! Super tense, and interesting deviation from the source material (I think, I haven't read Miles in the comics much). I also did the side mission with Screwball, who I have to admit is a really cool idea for a villain. A crazy psychopath with an obsession for live streaming and social media? I'd actually like to see more of her.

I finished this game today. I’m very impressed.
The gameplay is incredible in every way. Combat, traversal, and everything else— it’s damn near flawless. It just gets better and better as player skill improves and Peter’s moves list grows.
A few side quests were pretty lame. (I’m looking at you, R&D.) Others were really good. Overall, these were a mixed bag, but enhanced by excellent gameplay. There are a few I may never bother to complete again.
The main story was good. Each sequence and chapter was good. Chapter three and it’s numerous mega-battles were epic! I loved the final battle of the game, and the denouement was good.
I’m sitting with 100% completion, but still have trophy mop-up to do. I’ll hit up an online list to see what the few remaining hidden trophies are.
I really enjoyed this and intend to begin replaying it this week. I can’t wait for NG+, since my favorite costumes and moves take some time to obtain. I’m also looking forward to the DLC expansions, hoping that they’re substantial. There seem to be lots of possibilities for the inevitable sequel. I’m glad they used their own continuity, and think they did a great job. Overall, this is an excellent game, and more story, gameplay and costumes will only improve it.

Not that I'm surprised, but that's rather disappointing as she looks more like dc's catwoman rather than marvel's black cat. Tsk, tsk. Black Cat always looked like Catwoman. The latter’s current outfit also has her tits out so if anything she looks less like her DC counterpart now which is great.

Haven’t got a chance to play this yet, but I have to say I’m really enjoying John Paesano’s work on the score for this game. He really captured the best of the past Spidey film scores.

Haven’t got a chance to play this yet, but I have to say I’m really enjoying John Paesano’s work on the score for this game. He really captured the best of the past Spidey film scores. The score of the game is amazing! Really helps to capture the spirit of the Spider-man films and make you feel like Spider-man doing epic stuff. The only real gripe with it is that while it's good, I'm not sure if this is they type of soundtrack I want to associate Spider-man with. Kind of like Stan Lee when he saw Jack Kirby's concept art for Spider-man, I feel that music feels too heroic. The appeal of Spider-man for me is that he's supposed to be the everyman, a nice guy down the block who wants to help (in this case, swinging across New York fighting supervillains). It's pretty much like what Brad Bird says about the "fantastical in the mundane."* Personally, the best Spidey score for me would be something like the song used in the beginning of the game, something more down to Earth that's fun, playful, and a touch inspiring. Maybe with more emphasis on electric guitars and drums and less with powerhouse orchestras. The closest would be something like the theme from Spider-Man Homecoming or the NY Instrumental from Spider-man: Turn off the Dark. That's just a personal prefence though. Nothing against the game's score which is great! *Somebody talk to Brad Bird about directing a Spider-man project!

Man, I suck at the Taskmaster challenges. The drone tasks are no joke. I was completely satisfied to score Bronze on those. I didn’t get a single Gold for the drones. The Stealth and combat were both easier and more fun. If the drones were fun, I’d enjoy getting better at those challenges. They feel silly and pointless, though. I actually need a few more challenge tokens to get my Platinum Trophy (all suits), but I just can’t be bothered. I’ll get them on the next PT. Another feature of the game that’s really impressive is the Accessibility Features. Many won’t use these, but they’re huge for those who need them. With my joints being as they are, anything that reduces necessary pressure, repetitive movements, etc... is great. I used the option that allows a button hold for events, rather than hammering Square. It felt weirdly passive the first few times, but quickly felt natural. My joints already get sore from playing, so this was much appreciated. They have features for a variety of circumstances, whether visual or manual. It’s cool to see this extra thought put in by the devs. I started a new game last night, and progressed at a pretty rapid rate. I’m playing on Spectacular, looking forward to Ultimate difficulty. Spectacular kicked my butt at times during the first playthrough. Every challenge was new, after all. Once you get down the timing for a patient, well-timed defense, the game becomes much easier. Familiarity with all of the offensive options helps, too. I’m really looking forward to NG+. I only like a handful of costumes, but it will be nice to have them whenever I wish. More importantly, having the full assortment of skills will be nice. I got smacked a few times during my new game while trying to trigger a move I’d not yet unlocked. I took a risk and bought the deluxe edition, and it worked out well. Sony exclusives never disappoint. Still, even with the DLC arriving soon, I may not play it for a while. This gaming season is busy, and I don’t want to just keep hammering away at this game while awaiting DLC. I’ll likely play some other things before eventually returning. On the Patch front, a dev commented during a live stream that Web Blossom is brokenly OP. I guess I can’t argue, since I’ve never even been tempted to use another suit power. I’m not sure what type of nerf would work, but I expect one will eventually come. I’m rambling a bit, as I sometimes do with phone-posts. I agree with the positive posts regarding the soundtrack. It is excellent. I had a bug that briefly had me swinging without the musical theme. It was noticeably less cool. 😆 To my relief, music resumed after a cut scene. Again, very fun game. I kind of wish it were longer, but it’s probably a healthy length. I’m a bit too used to 80+ hours games.
