On November 2016, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said they can afford to delay MEA for up to 5 months. (Support till 21 August 2018)
"Our focus is on building great games, and right now Mass Effect is tracking extremely well, the game looks beautiful, and we’re really pleased with its progress. However, as you've seen, we are willing to make moves in launch dates if we feel it's necessary to deliver the right player experience, our guidance assumes that Mass Effect continues to be in this [fiscal] year, but it gives us some flexibility that we might choose to move it either a week or three, or four, or five months if we have to based on what we want to make sure in terms of delivering the right experience to the players."
We know the game will have 1 year support, but considering the state in which the game released they owe us extended support, even if it's just the minimum of 1 week. (Support till 28 March 2018)

The game has been in development for 5 years at this time, and it will be 6 years when it launches. EA seems to give Bioware enough time to develop after the lackluster DA:2 and ME:3 reception/discussion. What i want to know is how Bioware actually spend that time. In the case of Andromeda, it was certainly not well spent.

I've played DA:I right before ME:A. DA:I was the GOTY. It was in worse state than MEA for me, with botched banter triggers, three not triggering cutscenes, more crashes than I have seen (unmodded) in any game, a few quests that felt like they were roughly sketched in, but left unfinished, unpolished journal, quest description that were absolutely useless in explaining what was expected of you, misplaced quest markers, six or seven gigantic areas without any real content, and the worst ending in any BioWare game to date. DA:I today looks and plays like an abandoned project by Obsidian rather than a regular Bio game. With MEA, I had three glitching repeat VAs, one major option missing in CC (skin complexion/texturing slider) and one quest messed up in NG+ so far (movie night). mea is playable beginning to end, DA:I feels like a WIP to be heavily edited and added to. yeah, Eyes looked terrible before patch, but nothing in MEA ever come close to the nightmare that Ducchess Florence or what's her name looked like, or that What's his name Tevinter wizard you can judge to make tranquil. Ye gods....

Not quite sure exactly what you are getting at there. At some point they need to get the game out the door and start making money, this is a business. Aside from giants like Blizzard or Nintendo you can't keep a game in development indefinitely and still have money to keep paying your developers and other employees. 5 years is a long time. Aside from Bethesda I can't really think of any other AAA game developer that consistently uses development cycles that long. MEA's problems are not because of a rushed development schedule.

I dunno, if EA already allowed them to delay it twice then what is the issue we are even discussing here? For support I don't think there is anything so horribly broken that it is going to take them longer than a year to fix, aside from maybe the CC which is a total disaster. Is there a specific issue you think they aren't going to have time to fix in a year?

Might as well just be 5 months of MP content lol, that's not the point. - This is about Blake's statement, saying that they are willing and able to delay MEA up to 5 months (21 August 2017) if player experience isn't satisfactory, which it isn't based on the released product, thus this thread calls for extended support of said product to the possible stated delay. Even if EA were to say they'd do it for player satisfaction, they really mean they'll do it to their satisfaction. GL on trying to get extended support.
Regardless, 5 years and a delay was more than enough for this game. Blame goes to bioware cuz EA was the good guy in this case.

Well a company owes delivering on the product that was agreed upon a paid for. If MEA is still a buggy mess in a year, then yes, EA should continue to fix the thing.
And yes, I know it's not a buggy mess for everyone. But it is a buggy mess for *does a google search* a substantial number of people. Deal with it.

They'll provide support until such a time that it's no longer profitable to provide support. EA, in the end, is a business with many developers and many games.

Especially on consoles it shouldn't be anywhere near this buggy even after the first patch. MEA is in the top 3 of the most bug filled and glitchy games my brother and i have ever bought. It's not uncommon for a bug or two on consoles these days but nothing like MEA especially since all hardware is set. God the sheer amount of crashes from MEA over two plays is mind blowing..... Worse was after playing HZD that was mind blowing and i think completely bug free. It made jumping in MEA test our patience if it was any other thing but Mass Effect it would of been destroyed.

Blake's statement was after the already revealed release date of 21 March. DAI was in better state than MEA on release lol, - and it can be anything, be it patches to fix more bugs or more content. You're saying that the March release date was announced before November 2016? When was it announced? I can't find any record of it before January. We were all guessing March because of the EA fiscal year, of course.
