This one was pretty good for being an 80s film.
Event Horizon had some pretty gnarly parts to it as well.

House on Haunted Hill (the latest adaptation) for some reason actually terrified me with that one scene where one of the protagonists went into the security camera room to find the guy assigned to it dead. Where it got frightening for me was when he looked at one of the monitors and found the doctor's ghost walking towards the room of his wife in an unnatural jerky walk. The ghost looked up at the camera and smiled. Sorry, had to go find it. I love the 1999 version of House on Haunted Hill. It's one of those movies that just got me at the right time. I hated the ending, but my brother and I still spew quotes from the movie on a daily basis. When asking each other's opinion on something, we will occasionally say instead, "What do you think, Dr. Vannacutt?" Remember renting that and bringing it to a friends house when it came out, a group of us watched it, suffice to say they got spooked and didn't sleep that night. It creeped me out a bit at the time, the asylum flashbacks mainly but watching it again recently, I got over that quick. The ending is lame agreed. Another movie I remember fondly when it came out was Final Destination, had many lols watching that movie, those creative death scenes were great. I've never actually watched the I Know What You Did Last Summer movies, seen em parodied plenty tho. Scream is a classic, I'm sure it's been mentioned already, love it's self-awareness.

I love old monster movies, and ghost stories. The Others and Insidious are some of my favorites. Slashers: Loved Hostel and Saw. Dont know if you could really call them slashers per se but didn't know what else to call them. They're most often called torture porn, a little more focused on prolonged suffering than most slashers.

Don't like the Saw franchise either.

Event Horizon had some pretty gnarly parts to it as well. This trailer is pretty interesting. I am not into ghosts and supernatural stuff. My imagination finds science fiction and evil aliens to be more haunting. I will probably check this one out

I *love* The Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies. All of them. The original in the 70s, the cheesy sequels that followed, the remake and its prequel, even the terrible newer one with Trey Songz in it. I'm a sucker for these movies, I cant explain it, I never get tired of them. Super excited for Leatherface (this year, hopefully)!

My imagination finds science fiction and evil aliens to be more haunting. I will probably check this one out Event Horizon is great. There aren't aliens or ghosts in it though. Think of it as a haunted house movie, only with a haunted ship instead of a house. Or if you're familiar with Warhammer 40k, think of it as why you don't go through the Warp without a Gellar Field. Speaking of 40k, Event Horizon is startlingly similar to how unprotected Warp travel is described in that setting. With a few changes, it could very easily be a 40k movie. Or, hell, a proper Doom movie (minus the shooty-bang-bang that is in Doom).

I love horror movies (and animated movies too ). I saw few great movies, and so many funny/meh/crappy/disgusting/boring one (strike out inapplicable parts). The descent Martyrs 28 days later are probably my favourites Amongst the last I saw, JeruZalem, Krampus (more a comedy than a horror movie),Let us prey, The pyramid and Open grave were not that bad
