Not all kits should have been able to use the pogo stick. Smaller, more nimble characters could have had it, others have a magic pogo stick, and some not at all.
Krogan are the greatest offense. How can they fly from being so fat? Pretty piggered on that.
Jet packs would have been a welcomed addition rather than a feature Nuver keep enforcing. Ladders were terrible yes, never heard a Juggernaunt from the past game wine.
A variety of fast and nimble to hulking bullet sponges as seen in ME3MP. But sadly, that game had the genophage set upon it so we're stuck with the shitty clone version.

Turians seem able to glide, and Krogan can't hover for very long. Nothing in this game actually flies, but I suspect the in-universe justification is that the hardsuits have eezo conduits to momentarily reduce the wearer's effective mass to the point that the jets can propel them.

The only thing I can think of when I read through this topic was the line that formed at the bottom of ladders on ME3MP maps between rounds, and then when you finally got to the front of the line you went into cover instead of climbing up the ladder... So yes, I like the jetpacks!

That isn't variety. Turians not being able to dodge at all or krogan not being able to use cover is. The cost of mobility for being beefy. Different gameplay all around. Silly fatty boombalaty krogan :^)

One would think that everything is made better by the inclusion of jet packs.
I would gladly trade it for ME3's combat roll, though, given how many things had to change to accommodate it.

I'm not at all a fan of the maps designed to take advantage of jetpacks or how Bioware "apparently" had to change the balancing of the game because you can now jump... Though, in fairness, I highly doubt MP concerns were seriously considered when this game was being made and the jetpacks are invaluable in the single player open world they made. I just wish they had taken them out for MP.

It does make for some better verticality as far as map design goes and the extra mobility is nice. I do think it could have been implemented a little differently for some chars to make it a little more unique though instead of just giving everyone a jet pack. - Give the wannabe Havoc Turian the same dealio that the actual Havoc had in ME3 when he did his ----> HAVOC STRIKE <----
- Make the biotics have some cool ass biotic field that they use to hover around with
- Some rip off of Iron Man for a few of the humans
- Krogans = Charge + Backhand
- Salarians hop around like frogs
- Mandatory Boba Fett setup
Some of the biotics do use a biotic field, like the Asari Adept. Not sure why the human Adepts use regular jumpjets, though. You'd think they'd do the same.

Jetpacks are ok. You can have both jetpacks and good balance. Honestly i do not think this game is much more difficult than ME 3. It is less fun cause of some questionable design decisions but fun != balance.

Yes. Jetpacks are not the problem - everything else is though. Jetpacks could have been a great addition to a fantastic MP if they had just updated ME3MP with good new features without messing up everything that made ME3MP so much fun.

i don't mind them but it's really shittily implemented and i hate how chunky it is to move with them and having the camera jank around slightly but annoyingly

I'm undecided, I guess. I like the idea. But from what I've seen I did not have a feeling that MP level designers had a clear idea about how to utilise this 'verticality' of theirs. Lots of closed tiny corridor mazes, and it's sometimes easier to use the stairs than to jet-jump to a higher ground. All-in-all - I think that ME3 levels were smarter and more player-friendly (and so was ME3MP).

MEA maps/levels were built from the ground up by assuming players can jump 3 meters up into the air. Removing/weakening jetpacks for even a portion of characters will instantly make those characters almost unplayable. They won't be able to traverse half the map.

A lot of what I love about Warframe is the joy of movement going back to ME3 felt like someone had glued my feet to the floor.
With the jetpacks while not as smooth as Wf, the mobility is much much better so I like 'em

also a few problems
1) The jump slam is almost entirely worthless. Good luck actually hitting anything with it.
2) HOvering is totally worthless outside of the Havoc trooper getting 150% damage resistance during it. it still counts as part of a regular jump so you can only dash in the air ONCE to reposition and you PLUMMET when you do.
3) Why is the havoc trooper LESS MOBILE than the original one that couldn't even jump?! Where's the Havoc Strike?! Why isn't their butt slam replaced with a targeted dive bomb?

I voted no.
I like the Jetpacks but hate the fact that they're the reason most weapons are now cap guns and powers are harmless space magic tricks.
It just doesn't make sense, like the damage penalty for not using the scope while sniping.

I think the game would have been better without them. The vertical mobility and dashing forces the game in an unfortunate by giving players insane survivability while not killing things. The same could be said for nucloak and stealth grenade.

Compared to the other games that have jetpacks, they're far and away the worst version of them. Titanfall happened and everyone wanted fucking jetpacks. Look at what we lost for those shitty jetpacks.

Weapon, power, and combo balance would be preferred over jetpacks.
Melee similar to ME3MP also would be better.
This could actually be a good game if they gave a damn to actually roll their sleeves up and turn some of those "dials" Billy has been talking about. They bioware did some light adjustments to ARs but now it's too hard to roll out another patch to fix other issues?
