Sorry if a similar thread like this was created. I used the search function and just couldn't find a proper thread to post my thoughts on this (the one about purchasing the Ultimate Edition was more about Bioware's downfall than Origins). Apologies for the inconvenience if I'm wrong.
I'm currently replaying Dragon Age: Origins to catch up with Inquisition which I'm planning to buy, so I wanted to talk about those brilliant moments of the first game, and would like to know the favorite moments of other players, which being that special little scene precious to their heart.
In particular, what I really wanted to talk about was Leliana's song - not the DLC, but her actual singing. I know some people were weirded out by the sudden instrumental music coming from nowhere in the camp, but I felt like it was a very definitive moment for the Warden and her companions. Depending on how you play The Nature of the Beast, it could lead to tragedy or mere bittersweetness. Since the level-scaling of the quest was intended to be after Broken Circle and The Arl of Redcliffe, it should be somewhere around mid-game by the time the Warden managed to help the Dalish elves, and by then, the companions have probably opened up to your Warden about their personal demons. Everyone's worn out, another significant death has occurred in the form of either the Dalish Keeper or the werewolves, and it just felt so appropriate when Leliana sung that requiem for the dead, a sorrowful tune that embittered everyone a little more about their losses, their mistakes, and then some.
On a slightly unrelated roleplaying note: For my Warden, it was the perfect moment for her to turn a new leaf towards a less evil path. Much like the others, she was kinda tired of all the deaths that occurred around her, in spite of her inner desire for violence. It felt like a fitting moment when Leliana sung for the Warden to share her sorrows with her camp-mates; Alistair (who lost Duncan), Sten (who accidentally killed a family), Leliana (who got backstabbed by her friend), Wynne (who had to witness the deaths of the Circle mages), and even Zevran as well. I especially liked how Morrigan brushed away the sentimental song, probably to cover up the fact that she had her own sorrows to mourn about as well.
Anyway, that was probably my favorite moment of the game. Such a brilliant cutscene and an appropriate main theme for Origins. I wish there were more moments like that in later Dragon Age games.
So what about you? What's your favorite Origins moment?

The music soundtrack and event of the Warden crossing the bridge on the way to the Tower of Ishal. That's really the moment your Warden first feels like a hero.

-The part in which Loghain's men forgot to check out the Tower of Ishal and it's low chambers because of the writers wanting an Ogre running around the Tower.
-The part where Duncan committed all the senior GW into the frontlines because "reasons" of wanting them dead so that the game may have continued within a sets of unbelievable rails.
-The part where the Archdemon and his army disappeared from the game after Lothering until the end of the game.
-The part in which Jowan is able to poison Eamon in Redcliffe(thus traveling from the Circle,to Denerim and then to Redcliffe to tutor Connor) all in a single week.
-The part where companions don't become ghoul even if bitten of by the AD himself..
-The part where Riordan and Duncan don't care to reveal how to kill an AD until the very end of the game, sort of a stupid and forced tie up to the Morrigan Subplot of the ritual.
-The part where Oghren,Leliana and the Warden are able to defeat death itself with their own resurrections.
-The absurd mechanics of Flemeth's ritual which don't make any sense.
And finally the part where Morrigan has her plot armor in Redclieffe.

This is why I love Origins so much. You just don't get these surprising(ly amusing) choices like that. So much fun. Might bring Sten on my next playthrough.

Just to add on - the "Captured!" quest was easily as much fun as the Citadel DLC of ME3:
"I'm the pretty one."

King Cailan scenes, his death and finding his body.
When Alistair tells you: "you wanted me to be King? Well, I am going to be king and dispense justice" or whatever, and kills Loghain. Then gives Anora a boot.
Yeah, I have a thing for the two brothers. Too bad Alistair dumps your character the moment you actually fall for him, lol.

I know that one could marry him, but can you still do that, and have his moment of magnificence when he steps in, and asserts himself by slaying Logain against your wishes? Plus, you have to artificially create it from the start, unfortunately, by playing one specific origin, so it is really not the selling point of the origins in my books. It is actually one reason I don't like Origins and Inquisition in comparison to DA2.

You sound like my step-sister and I never had him dump me (I betrayed him on my own though as a Morrigan romance). I've played as other origins besides for a Fem Cousland before and yeah he killed Loghain (did you make him duel Loghain or something?) because he never dumped me while I played as a Female Amell.

I replayed that segment multiple times, with the duel being conducted by Alistair himself (he just kills L), my character (Alistair steps in when you try to Spare L and ruins his carefully arranged bethrotal to Anora which is all cool, save for the dumping) and with another character duelling L... don't remember this one, but I might have just declared Anora a queen there and she was even more of a bitch so I had to plead for Alistair's life. he always dumps the PC who would let him stay idealistic after the encounter with Goldana. Which is what I did, because that's what I like about both brothers, and what The bitch queen hates about them. oh, well, my Warden went to Zevran for consolation, then dreamed about Nathaniel before dying somewhere in Deep Roads or whatever. Life sucks, and then you die, that sums up the Origins.

You could've duelled Loghain yourself as Anora just will not accept the man that killed her father as her husband. You than could've hardened Alistair and than forced him and Anora into a arragended marriage and he would've accepted you as his mistress.
Not true. My Amell left him unhardened and left him a Warden and she was never dumped by him. My Female Cousland hardened him simply to make him a better ruler to the people, as she already had her own duties to attend to and she wanted to leave the country in good hands while she did GW things.

Life sucks, and then you die, that sums up the Origins. It's because Alistair has his sense of duty as a king and couldn't afford to let anything distract him from the lives of an entire country - which is just, oh, about millions of people in his hands. He's already stressed up about having such huge responsibility before he was king. Do you really think he, a Grey Warden who sacrificed his life (Grey Wardens have short lifespan due to drinking the tainted blood, don't forget that) to stop the Blight would really place the love of a stranger he's just met for probably a year or less (maybe even several months) before his sense of duty for his country? And besides, he's already told you about this before he becomes king if you asks him "Where do you think our relationship is going?" If you tell him, "As long as we love each other, nothing else matters," he will mention, "What about duty and honor?" It's not as if the whole thing just came out of the left field; it was foreshadowed beforehand already. For me, I personally did find it a bit annoying that an unhardened Alistair would dump my dwarf Warden as well if he becomes king... but as a would-be queen herself, she could at least understand, as she would probably place Orzammar before Alistair as well - if she was queen. Which is why she chose Anora to be Queen. Anora made a compelling argument about why she would make a better queen than Alistair anyway. An unhardened Alistair is too soft to make the tough decisions nobles sometimes have to make. It's something that troubles my Warden when she picked Harrowmont as king instead of her traitorous brother, Bhelen, even though she knew Bhelen would make a better king. When she told Harrowmont to be a strong king, he answered with the whole "I don't want to be a tyrant" platitude. Bleh. Anyway, all's well that ends well. My Alistair is going to be Grey Warden and get a lot more dialogue in DA:I, and he gets to stay in romance with my cute little dwarf.

I guess she would be more interesting as Purple Sarcastic Hawke (mine was Red Hawke), but she still irks me as a character. So boring and mundane. Reminds me of Ryder. I am certainly both Hawke's and Ryder's girl, and Shepard's. I like Awakening. Origins and its cast is not my thing, and neither is a Inquisition, save for Dorian. Would not expect everyone to share the same opinion.

I've killed my Warden buddy before (not Alistair, but Loghain and Stroud XD) I love playing as male hawke (even though I'm female) I like his snarkyness more than the females.

I didn't even know you could kill Hawke. (shrugs) And "saving her". I don't know; I just couldn't see myself playing a male Hawke, in spite of being male myself. Female Hawke, I have to admit, is slightly more badass than the male one. You can kill both Hawke and your Warden buddy in Inquisition. I've killed my Warden buddy before (not Alistair, but Loghain and Stroud XD) Whoa, spoilers. Some of us haven't played Inquisition yet. I love playing as male hawke (even though I'm female) I like his snarkyness more than the females. I don't know; female Hawke has quite a bit of snark in herself too:
