I do, but they contain the innocent. Awww... ok And otherwise relevant to the topic at hand, I thought it was good. Critically this one had better story and character development than the first one, but the first one was just SUPER FUN. I think I'm resigned to just having to like them both equally for different reasons... yeah, me and the Guardians of the Galaxy movies... we've got this unspoken thing going on.

It was pretty good. For once my issues with it are pure personal preference instead of some grand argument for what they should/shouldn't have done. I didn't like making Yondu likeable only to kill him, even though that was a terrific character arc well executed. I didn't like blowing their load with the mystery of Peter's dad, and I'm not sure Ego was the best choice, though his motivations in the movie made sense for the character as I know it. I personally despise the trope of having to choose between some type of godhood/ascension and being a mundane and choosing (or worse, being forced to choose) to be a mundane. There was no way Quill could've chosen godhood in these circumstances, it fits perfectly with his character, I just don't like the idea in general. I once again curse Fox for refusing to return FF and more importantly Silver Surfer to Marvel. Got a problem with an uppity living planet? You know who's good for that? A guy who eats them. But I take back 12% of the above curse because Fox was smart enough to allow Marvel the use of Ego at all(who is considered under the Silver Surfer umbrella) in return for more use of/creative freedom with Negasonic Teenage Warhead. I mean, I'd do that trade. Plus it just proves that one guy's point from the first movie- no one is 100% a dick.

This is a long way from hanging ancient 8-16" fresnels and ellipsoidals like I can barely remember from high school theatre. I think I remember there were also like 3 big cyc fixtures, and that was about it. So, I see the truss, but I have no idea what those mini 9 fixtures might be used for, other than some kind of wash?

Mini 9's are FAY fixtures (9*650w) of Tungsten. The FAY is similar to a medium lens par globe. In this configuration, overslung and underhung, it was used as a searing backlight, giving a very hard edge to targets for camera.
These were rigged with 3 20a Edison tails on them, so we used dimmer packs so that the lamps could be used in a chase, but I don't think the gaffer ever used them that way... It was my bonus gift to him.
The circular softbox in my earlier pics was the ambient overhead lighting for this set, using KinoFlo Image 85s.
Edit: Mini 9s were prevalent back then when you were playing with Source 4 ellipsoidal lamps. They are old Mole Richardson.
Edit2: You can see the image 85s behind the truss. Those were used to light the blue screen, which was 360° for Guardians except for the Dairy Queen, which we rigged in Atlanta.
