My neighbor and friend died of leukemia, not today but a week ago but strangely enough, first I felt nothing but now it has hit me hard. In my mind he is still so present I cannot fathom the fact that he wont be around for a fun talk or helping me with a garden project. A person gone like this is just wrong, just cannot wrap my head around it. I remember last time I spoke to him I gave him a really expensive cigar which he was supposed to smoke after beating cancer as a victory gesture, that feels like yesterday. Damn.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know how you feel, I lost a really good friend a few years back and then his father dies a couple of years later. My friend, it turned out, had diabetes like his dad but he wasn't even aware he had it, his dad had come home and found him passed out in the bathroom. He had gone into a coma and died briefly afterward. His father never really got over the loss and when he passed away, it had taken a couple of weeks before someone had come across his body. I had considered both of them more like they were family, he was like a little brother and hid dad was like an uncle, it really is difficult when someone you never thought you'd lose actually passes away.

It'll take time to for you to get used to realising that he is no longer there, but we always have our memories of those who are no longer here. Take your time and look after yourself.

. Diabetes is sneaky sometimes, one of my more distant neighbors died under very similar circumstances in his 30's. Oh Beetle, that's terrible. Sorry for your loss, it sounds like you were good friends. Grief likes to sneak up on us and get us when we are least expecting it. It'll take time to for you to get used to realising that he is no longer there, but we always have our memories of those who are no longer here. Take your time and look after yourself. Thanks. For me he was a little like a father because I never had one. He helped me set up my kitchen and lots of garden projects, we had fun conversations about men stuff and I helped with his dog and when he got diagnosed with cancer I helped him find proper ways for treatment (Because you cannot always rely on your doctors - I know this from painful first hand experiences) - since I do have above-average medical knowledge. And now I feel like an absolute ass, today was his funeral (urn) and I did not attend - I just could not take it. I'm weak and there is no excuse, but I've had lots of very bad luck lately, including health issues, and now a friend died. I will visit his grave very soon.

Tomorrow is my first day at my new job and I am really nervous, and kind of scared, as I am not really experienced in this kind of environment; I have worked in a similar position, but it was in a low profile company. I hope everything runs smoothly *finger crossed*

Well, I'm kinda confused lately. Drove to the civil service office for some papers, turns out they're closed on afternoon. I kinda forgot. Well screw it, drove to the gun store to get some powder, turns out they're closed, like on every Monday since pretty much ever. Whoops. Lots of driving for nothing. Now I cooked me chicken with rice, pumpkin and shrooms. Anticipating a rather dull knife I did not handle it very carefully when cutting the pumpkin, then I cut open my entire right thumb. Well, I sharpened it just recently. Kinda forgot I guess. Then I slipped and dunked said cut thumb into the boiling pot with the rice. What a dumb day.

Well, I did not have a dumb day but a rather dumb moment; I've spent more time than I'd like to admit looking for my glasses when I had them on. First day of job was kind of good, actually; people here is very nice and they helped me whenever they could.

Ahh more people like me who do stupid things!
I once cut most of an entire packet of dried dates, and was wondering why it was so difficult and took so long.
Gonna just say...its faster if you use the knife with the blade side not going into your finger.
Luckily, knife wasn't that sharp, but I thought it hurt cos I was using too much force.
Sooo dumb.

Ahahah. Reminds me of my peeler, when peeling potatoes with it I always manage to use it reversed and then I wonder why it takes so much damn force to peel them. Once I even bent it to hell because of that. DUH! Also, one time I used my new peeler and it hardly worked at all, it took me a while to realize it still had the transparent cover on the blades. Man.....!

Speaking of hats, i'm a fan of the Afghan "Pokol" hat and might order one soon. We need pics of Lavo "the good boy" in his PakolThat reminds me of something you'd see an orphaned Victorian boy wear for some reason lol

My hairdresser botched my hair, I asked for a specific haircut (even showed her a photo), and she did whatever she wanted. So yeah, I am pissed.
On another note, I have to deal with a kid that has a speech impediment at work, which causes him social anxiety, and I don't know how to make him feel more comfortable and at ease.

On another note, I have to deal with a kid that has a speech impediment at work, which causes him social anxiety, and I don't know how to make him feel more comfortable and at ease. This is why I usually end up cutting my own hair, that way I only have myself to blame As for the second part, I'm not really sure what to suggest other than just spending time with him (to develop a friendship as such) and be encouraging and patient and pay close attention to what he is saying. Or ask him how you can make him feel more at ease.

seven has it right. It helps to know that someone has your back and gives moral support. Make him compliments and offer encouragement to show that even if he lisps or stutters there's nothing wrong with it. Ironically that's often the first step of change anyway. Also, sorry about your hair.

My day officially sucks lemons. Why? I've been given the news I have not been looking forward to even though I'd known it was coming sooner or later.

Today, I was in the bus when a maniac yelled at an old lady because she was climbing the bus' stairs "too slowly" (he also say that women are getting increasingly slower by the day, lol, whatever). He said more crazy things as well. I was appalled. It was, tho, a great day at work, one of the kids (the one who stutters) said he was so lucky to have me. And it felt great! P.S: Two days ago was my one year "anniversary" on BSN .

Today I had a relaxed man-day. I cleaned, dis-and reassembled and lubed 3 of my rifles followed by light exercise doing standing biceps curls with the EZ bar and then some bent over dumbbell rows and overgrip forearm curls, finished watching Carnival Row, now I'm gonna continue reading Black Company : Water Sleeps. Good, lazy day.

I noticed a few days back that my favourite ankle boots are so worn that I won't be able to wear them any longer totally unrelated, a coworker dragged me shopping in our lunch break cause she wanted my advice browsed a bit myself and found a pair of ankle boots almost exactly like the ones I need to get rid of they were super expensive though but then I saw the 20%-off-tag and yay, new shoes
