Someone should tell Cam that it doesn't work that way...

Lots of news since I last visited.
Gronk was a man among boys when he was healthy. It’s hard for me to unequivocally call him the best TE, given the greats that have played. He was definitely the most dominant I’ve ever seen. His dominance at his best reminded me of Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White or JJ Watt at their best— just unstoppable. I’ll miss watching him play, but I think it’s a smart choice. He walks away at 30 with some money, multiple SB Championships and many years ahead. We’ll be telling Gronk stories for years.
Jordie Nelson was a good player and always seemed like a quality dude. I kind of wish he’d retired a Packer, but I’m sure he’ll do so ceremonially at least.
Reviewable PI calls are overdue. There’s no way they could ignore it any longer after the way the Saints got screwed. I think it will work out and improve the integrity of the game. It does make me wonder where officiating is heading. My view on TV is way better than their views on the field. When they review a play, they sometimes still manage to blow the call. I wonder if anyone is capable of getting the job done to a high enough standard to satisfy fans. Hiring more full-timers probably wouldn’t hurt. I’m not sure why the League seems so reticent to improve the officiating situation. I’m sure there are a ton of factors I’m not considering.
EDIT: I forgot the most important piece. What happened to Will Smith was senseless. Nothing can bring him back, but at least justice will be served. Too many men are shot in the streets and their families left to watch their killers walk free.

I don’t even know what to say. Don’t do shit in secret that you don’t want your family to discover later. He’s obscenely rich, so I’ll not hold my breath on proper punishment or on his accepting responsibility. You’re on film twice, dumbass. Just own it and move forward.

That would be the sensible thing to do.

I’m really happy about the Eagles’ acquiring Jordan Howard. He’s one of the true workhorse backs in the NFL. He should do great things in Philly. (I really hope they don’t end up devastated by injuries for a third year in a row.) We’ll see whether it’s a one-year thing, or if it goes really well and the Eagles tie him up long-term.
