I didn't see a thread on this, and frankly I'm confused why since it's a DC game, but anyway, discuss the upcoming fighting game by Mortal Kombat alumni NetherRealm Studios. The game releases May 16th. Confirmed playable characters (so far) are: Aquaman AtrocitusBane Batman Black Adam Black CanaryBlue Beetle (Jaime Reyes)BrainiacCaptain ColdCatwoman CheetahCyborg Darkseid*DeadshotDoctor FateFirestormThe Flash Gorilla GroddGreen Arrow Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) Harley Quinn The Joker Poison IvyThe Red Hood*RobinScarecrowStarfire*SupergirlSuperman Swamp ThingWonder Woman Asterisk indicates that the character is DLC; Darkseid is a pre-order exclusive. Character names in bold letters indicates that they are new. As well, some character will have what are known as "premiere skins", which will change character models and/or animations and voice lines but leave gameplay intact. For example, Green Lantern will have a premiere skin that changes him from Hal Jordan to John Stewart, while retaining the power set and playstyle. One premiere skin that I'm especially looking forward to is one that Captain Cold has that changes him to Mr. Freeze. Reveal trailer for Starfire, Sub-Zero, and Red Hood: I don't like that they're already revealing the DLC characters before the game even launches, but I'd happily give my left nut to play as the Red Hood. I was butt-pained to see that he was never added to the first game (though the OG Red Hood was available as an alternate costume for The Joker).

Not sure what to add, but I'll be getting this and probably main Grodd and Supergirl (I used HawkGirl and Zodd in Injustice).
I do like how they have the pre-fight banter, and I'm hoping that the gear will have a good amount of variety in terms of looks and that those looks will stay in the ranked matches.

Tomorrow the 18th it's going to be released around here, going to pick it up right after work.
It's garnering high scores and it looks fantastic.

A buddy of mine got it yesterday and I got a chance to watch and play some of it.
The campaign looks pretty cool from what little I saw, very cinematic for just being a fighting game. And speaking of the genre, I am notoriously bad at these types of titles, but I actually was enjoying myself when my buddy let me take the reigns as Scarecrow; probably my favorite character out of all the ones I've played.
The mulitverse mode is pretty cool as well, and lets you earn xp and gear for your characters at a fairly reasonable rate.
Minor nitpicks would be that I wish the game had a tag team mode or something where you and an ally can work together against AI opponents; as I don't relish the idea of my buddy breaking me as Bane over and over.
And minor comic/cosmetic issue: I really dislike the Damien Wayne Robin over Dick Grayson and Tim Drake. His character comes across like just because he comes from Batman's balls he thinks he's hot shit and is entitled to being the 'best' Robin. Well Homey don't play that.

Holy cow, that story-mode is insane. It's basically a fully realized animated movie that transitions into fights.

Yeah, I don't know why NetherRealm did away with tag team modes. The last time they did it was MK9, in 2011. On topic of this game, it feels like there are some delayed frames on some of the returning attacks on characters from Injustice 1. I main Batman (or did main him in the first game, I may pick up a new main here) and I noticed that several old combo strings that I used to be able to perform easily with him are either much tighter in the timing, or sometimes outright impossible because you can't cancel out of some animations, despite the animations being the same for attacks that he had in the original game.

Yeah, I don't know why NetherRealm did away with tag team modes. The last time they did it was MK9, in 2011. Actually, my buddy just showed me something in the Guild portion of the Multiverse that is a co-op tag team match. The downside is you need to be in guild of at least three players, and you will need to be an account level of 5 with at least one level 20 character (though the last part is not mandatory). The upside is that you can go to special guild only events which are essentially boss fights, you and your two other teammates vs. one super powered character. You each only get one life bar, but your buddies watching you can each drop down health boosts, power meter boosts, or even enemy damaging missile attacks to help you out. Once you die you go back into spectator mode, but you then get to drop down power ups to try and help the next person in your tag-team. It looks pretty awesome, and I'm honestly tempted to buy my own copy; though I'm not sure if I want to start over at square one after playing as my buddy's decked out scarecrow
