I haven't seen your other posts, but I don't think you should apoligise to us unless you were rude or something. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions. I, for one, absolutely despise how elves look like in DAI, male elves especially.

Depends. They said they wanted to add VFX and SFX after launch, and for those I would be willing to pay $14-$20 (depending on the overall quality of the armor/vinyl). But for everything else? I'd say the right price should shift around $10.

If you go back to Vivienne, you can ask her to join you back. She'll still be Divine, but you'll be able to pick her too.
You could, of course, tell her not to join you back. In that event, if Dorian was kicked out or if he was never recruited in the first place, than you'd be left without mages. It's important to note that Dorian does not leave the party if he plans to go back to Tevinter.

I'd always try to avoid that situation, because it'd feel like you'd be missing out on content. I'd love it, however, if they did something more similar to how they handled Alistair in DAO, who leaves the party if you recruit Loghain. So for you, does it boil down to gaining something in return; to make up for the loss (ie. a companion)? Hmm, not exactly. I didn't have a problem with how DA2 handled companions leaving either, since they only actually left your side at the very end of the game, once their story arcs were pretty much complete. In the end, what matters to me is to not feel like I'd be missing out on content. DAO did that when it came to Alistair leaving by giving me Loghain, DA2 did that by making companions leave only once everything was already said and done.

I've never understood this argument, since you can always see the alternate paths on your next characters. Do you have have to see everything on every playthrough ?
The Loghain/Alistair situation in Origins leads to alternate paths, which I'm more than okay with. Not recruiting someone or having them leave doesn't lead to an alternate path whatsoever, it simply deprives you of content. Especially since a a lot of the focus that is put into BioWare games goes into their characters.

I wouldn't recommend playing on PS3, though I don't know if the game will run on your laptop. I highly recommend buying the GOTY edition, since it's 30 bucks for the full game and all the DLC. Consider buying it when it's on sale.

Since we were not given any indication regarding the deities associated to each Vallaslin, I chose based on looks alone. Turned out I gave him Mythal's Vallaslin lolol We did get indication for DAI's vallaslin. It was only in DAO that players had to choose blindly. Not really. Matt Rhodes posted the explanation a few weeks after DAI released, so I (and everyone else who played day 1) went in completely blind.

Never thought I would write in one of the "skepticism" threads on the BSN . So, Anthem was showcased two days ago during the EA conference. The gameplay looked solid, and I can definitely see myself playing this game with some friends. I was, however, left with the same doubts and fears that I had when the game was first showcased last year at the Microsoft Conference. To me it looked a lot like a more-of-the-same of last year's. Sure, it showed some of the differnt classes and their abilities - but they didn't even showcase ALL the Javelins: we saw next to nothing regarding the Storm, and we only saw the Interceptor when it saved the Ranger in the cinematic trailer (does that make it a support class? And yet it's giving people an assassin vibe). Instead, the focus seemed to be on the spectacular visuals and environments ( AGAIN). I know I personally would have preferred if they showed a bit of Fort Tarsis, maybe even some actual conversation with NPCs. Or, perhaps, some more detailed gameplay. Anyway... Most of the questions many had were answered off-stage, on Twitter or on the Game Informer website. They mostly answered technical stuff, but also dropped the bomb of no romances (which are apparently being replaced by more in-depth friendship relationships?), no AI party members, limited character creator and "limited dialogue choices". They also insisted that the game can be played solo, but tried to keep it vague when questioned on whether it would have been more difficult to do so. The fact that all this information was released off-stage makes me somewhat skeptical. Let's go over the points I mentioned before: - No romances. Not so long ago, BioWare revealed that romances are incredibly expensive. I doubt they would have removed a feature that has become iconic for BioWare games over the years if they had intended to put the resources behind it towards a similar "friendship" system. I see it far more likely that they didn't want to pull funding from other departments, which could have harmed the gameplay. Which might have been understable, if this wasn't BioWare we're talking about.
- No AI Party Members. There will be NPCs that sort-of act like DAI's advisors. I am fine with that. I am, however, worried that there might be too few "companions", or not enough dialogue with them. So far they've only confirmed three characters that will accompany you during your journey. I'm hoping for more.
- Limited dialogue choices. I don't think I even need to explain why I'm skeptical about this. We've had two cinematic trailers and two gameplay trailers, and we're yet to see how this new, more limited conversation system works. In one of the gameplay trailers, we see our character talk to someone... and the dialogue wheel doesn't come up once. It's just auto-dialogue. I was hoping it was simply because this was an old build of the game, but now... I'm not so sure. Mass Effect 3 was already more limited than other BioWare games by only offering two choices in the dialogue wheel (besides the "Investigate" options), so I'm wondering: how can they be more limited than that and still be offering a choice?
- Limited character creator. How limited are we talking about here? Like, more limited than Andromeda's was at release? If so, that's disappointing, even though I'm sure that, however limited it's going to be, we're going to be able to make our pilots have a unique appearance. What I'm really worried about is that they justified this decision by saying that they wanted to focus more on the Javelin personalization. To me this reads like they want their consumers to be more invested in the time spent outside Fort Tarsis (which is apparently where the storytelling happens) than inside. It's like they're saying "in this game, gameplay > story".
Overall, until we see more of the narrative side of the game, I'm having trouble understanding why Anthem is being developed by BioWare. This doesn't look anything like a BioWare game to me. Hell, Dying Light 2 looks more like a BioWare game to me. Why is a studio known for their storytelling and impactful decisions creating an action game? I understand that they might want to try something new. But look at what Bethesda is doing with Fallout 76: they're trying their hand at multiplayer without giving up too much of what their games are like. Or, at least, that's how it feels to me, and I'm someone who disliked every Fallout game and who thinks that The Elder Scrolls is ovverated. Still, Anthem looks fun and I'll probably get it. Problem is, I'm not getting it for its story components.

I feel like some overly critic comments might ruin the enthusiasm that, I believe, a fan forum should be about. But that doesn't mean that there shouldn't be any criticism at all: just be careful with your wording. Saying "I didn't enjoy this game because [...]" is very different from saying "This game is garbage"/"CDPR does things so much better"/"EA destroys everything it touches".
Of course, Anthem is in a very weird spot at the moment. They haven't shown much that would appeal to those who usually play BioWare games so, naturally, most BioWare fans might be feeling disappointed right now - especially since some blame Anthem for Mass Effect Andromeda and others might be resentful that they're prioritizing it over DA4. Still, that doesn't excuse you from acting like a jerk.

Anthem has a character creator! Woo-hoo!
Also:
-no AI party members.
-Four different "classes" AT LAUNCH.
-You can swap "classes," but not in the middle of a mission.
-Won't be able to change appearance in the middle of the game (at launch, at least)
-Limited Inventory space . -Your apartment is a hub. -"The only thing stopping you is your own good sense"
-No fights underwater, no snowy or desert areas.
-Tarsis is the main hub, but the Strider is the "storytelling hub".
-No coop in hubs.
-No PvP.
- 4 or fewer in a squad.
-There are dialogue trees, but they're slightly different. -No co-op story decisions.
-No local co-op.
-No loot stealing.
