As a transhumanist im just sad i dont have SAM in my head right now. ^^ The sooner we integrate with AI, develop Augments, invent functional brain-mapping, or perfect fetus gene-modification the better. Its very unlikely, but i hope to live to see the day were humans as they are now are finally gone and replaced.

Im actually baffled. At the end of ME1 i thought :
" So, there really arent any Asari that identify as male? Thats unrealistic, how long have they been in contact with bi-gendered species now? Also, i really expected to read about masses of humans who shave their heads and paint themselves blue, or wear volus-looking suits, or metal turian like masks, and the same for other species in regards to each other. That would most certainly be a thing IRL. Well, i guess they exist and just arent mentioned."
And now it gets confirmed and people find THAT unrealistic? Really? Smh.

I would like them to keep the whole squad this time. Maybe retire Drack, make him have a ME2!Wrex role. That leaves us able to continue all our romances, flesh the characters out more, and add 2-4 new squadmates, including the twin. Maybe Reyes too.

Eh, Suvi was the least interesting for me. Her belief system is also strange. I really digged the "Gods an artist" thing she had going on, but later i told her that her continuing to believe after a certain story revelation would make her delusional and she agreed? Happily? Thats as if i went to a priest and say:
"Hey dude, if you believe in God your f***ing crazy, there is no such thing." And instead of either dismissing, debating, or ignoring my rude ass he goes:
"You know what? You are absolutely right. Im still going to believe though, because even though i just admitted that it is crazy to believe, and God probably doesnt exist, believing is all that matters."
Its just weird to me. YMMV though.
As for the others, i have gotten really attached to my Sara. She feels so real, i could relate to her almost immediatley. Like pretty much everyone else too. Hope Reyes is a squadmate in MEA2, hes great.

That's not true. Every world can be brought to 100% without doing all the quests. Not all, but some. Even some feels like too many No, it is all. I have hit 100% on every planet before doing all the quests.

Off topic, but inquiring minds want to know - do you think Bioware named the bartender at the Vortex after you, Dutch? I'm new around here, but you seem to be...legendary. Well, the bartender is a generally stand-offish but ultimately harmless, even amusing guy who frequents a place that doesnt have anything to offer that he values, even though it had in the past, yet he still stays around, probably not really knowing why himself, just to belittle and annoy the regulars who do appreciate the new direction the place has taken, who just take it in stride and have accepted him as a strange, yet still loveable fixture of the little joint they like to hang out in, so i guess the shoe kinda fits. I doubt it though. While Bioware have a habit of putting forum stuff into their games, they havent done actual poster in a loooong time. On topic: Uhm....I dont find Plasma weapons to be that useful in general, i guess. By the time the bullet hits the enemy my powers have already cooled down twice. ^^

What exactly happens if u spare the cardinal? Also, does taking primus deal affect the ending? Was wondering on that one quite long Nothing. Those two choices are screaming Dlc/Sequel-consequences though. I left both alive in hopes that i may be able to negotiate with the Kett in MEA2. ^^

Because the whole point of the blow-up-or-save choice was that the Kett are mobilizing an overwhelming amount of reinforcements and you only have time to either save the Angara or destroy the building before they arrive?

Playing it for the second time now, did 97% first time, gonna keep that up for NG+. Companions are still amazing, Ryder is still great, not bored yet. ^^ Im going to wait with playthrough 3 and 4 until the first DLC is out. I dont think the game is good for more than 4 playthroughs though, just like Inquisition. Also, i dont know how people get the idea that Andromeda only has something for a select few. I see tons of people loving the game on Reddit, for example. Oh, but i forgot, Reddit doesnt count.

Angelarts. He is a gay male Lets Player who is VERY thorough, but also very interesting. He often pauses games to talk about story implications and lore etc. I have my gripes with him, but all in all he is pretty great. Just dont watch his Journey or Undertale lps. ^^

I dont think its a bug. Phase 1: You have to empty the HP bar of one of its legs by half. If the leg still has HP, see 2a. If the leg is destroyed, see 2b. Phase 2a: Attack its head. Thats it. Go to Phase 3. Phase 2b: The Architect will fly away and eventually land. Go to Phase 3. Phase 3: He will build additional Remnant. I think here is where people think its bugged. He will only show his weakpoints again after all Remnant are defeated. If you miss one its easy to see why you guys may think it bugged out. Your companions will eventually kill the last Remnant, which may take a while depending on difficulty. So make absolutely sure you killed all of the small fry. Go back to Phase 1, rinse repeat. I was disappointed that all worlds just had an Architect. I thought there would be a different giant beast for every outpost.

In the last memory the MB says " We are all thats gonna be left of civilization." This implies a) that the MB is going to travel to Andromeda too, hence the "We", and since he didnt say "We might be all thats gonna be left of civilization", or "We will probably be all thats gonna be left of civilization", he seems to think that the Reapers are unstoppable, which TIM never did. I sincerely doubt its going to be him.

It does. Some Asari are more masculine. Just look st Matriarch Atheta. Just because some are masculine doesn't mean anything. There are no "patriarchal" figures in asari culture. The pronoun "he' means nothing to them. It does since they made contact with bi-gendered cultures. I can guarantee you 100% that if we ever make contact with a tri-gendered species, where the third gender is Remale, there will be thousands of humans wanting to be adressed as such in less than a week. Same with Asari and male pronouns.

If you go to the collective base you'll see what a two-faced liar Reyes is, everytime he opens his mouth is pretty much one. Such a slimy guy. I picked Sloane myself, i like her direct style and the security she brings to the outpost. Besides i prefer seeing the milky way races on top over the angara - we're here to rule not to be nice with the locals. Actually, we are here to be nice with the locals, its one of the goals of the Initiative. And since they are in charge at the end, and not Ryder, i sincerely doubt the story will go the way you and a few others hope in dlc and sequels. Id be REALLY surprised if the MW races assert themselves in the future.

Its not "almost every single review", talk about hyperbole. Because of people like you i feared for the worst pre-release, until i actually checked the reviews for myself, and guess what? Writing quality is the thing reviews are most split over. For every "The dialouge is juvenile and weak" there is one "Companions and dialouge are great, and the strongest part of the game". I once thought the Biodrones were in denial about this game, but the haters are way worse. Go watch smudboy videos, he and his fans like to overreact to everything too. Andromeda is fine. It has a LOT of flaws, but the writing is not one of them. ( Except Addison, whoever wrote her should be fired.) Im more interested in the Remnant than i ever was in the Protheans for example. Tone change doesnt mean the dialouge is bad, its just not catered to you. As someone whos fine with any tone (Id watch a grimdark GotG and a silly comedy Saw sequel) i honestly just think youre not the target audience anymore. So move on. Wait for Cyberpunk, im sure itll be great and more up your alley. This is not specifically directed at you btw, more to all people who either blow things way out of proportion or dont realize that dialouge from a younger, lighter perspective doesnt equal "bad writing". Also, what are you talking about, the Kett are horrifying. If a potential sequel focuses more on their empire its gonna be dark as hell. (Sorry for grammar, am tired as hell and writing on a PS4 ^^) I agree with you on the writing - I don't think it's bad at all. The only criticism I do have with the writing however, is that the gradual world building that occurred via dialogue in the original trilogies, is quite shoe-horned in in this one. Most situations early on feel super contrived and heavy-handed in trying to make you understand something, rather than in the original trilogies, where the pacing was much better. Also - the Kett? Horrifying? No chance. When I first saw the Archon on the Habitat 7 vault, I legitimately thought the game was throwing a red herring at me and that he was eventually going to become an ally; there's nothing terrifying about their appearance. Perhaps there can't be, given we are coming off the horrific Reapers and there's not too many places you can go from there. But I didn't find the Kett terribly scary at all. Not until you get to the story beat that explains their motivation; which, let's be honest, isn't really a bone-shattering cause for fear either. I dont know. I get the impression that they are a vast empire that has exalted hundreds of races already. When i think about all the culture, knowledge, and individuality that was lost, the fact that the exalted actually retain a personality and still fight and kill their loved ones, how they think its for a higher purpose and that they think they are completely justified because religion....i get shudders all over.
YMMV though. What scares me seldom scares other people. ^^

This honestly was one of my favorite parts of the story and I'm amazed it wasn't more tied to the Critical Path. Lot's of cloak-and-dagger stuff going on. Still don't buy Cora's "I was raised on a freighter" story. There is NO way the writers are THAT bad, to give her the name of Harper with no connection to the Illusive Man. I may remind you that James Vega was originally named James Sanders, even though he has no connection to Kahlee. I also dont see how it is bad writing when unrelated people share a name. The One Steve Limit is a really stupid trope. Im not saying shes not connected to TIM, she probably is,just that Bioware has made that mistake before.

I should really make a thread for every stuff I enjoy about Andromeda, but that would be a lot. Question, could you not be best bros with Garrus, in the trilogy? Or Liara BFF's? Andromeda's system is miles head. 74% - with almost every single review talking about how the dialogue is juvenile and weak. Even the positive reviews mention this. But you're in the minority, that's cool too! Everyone is a special snowflake and everyone gets along. Even the villain in Andromeda is cute! I dunno. I haven't gone past Eos yet, but it didn't take me all that long to clear the place out and set up the outpost. I breezed through it and already went above 70% viability. Maybe this planet is the exception, but I didn't really feel the time here like I did in the Hinterlands. Even the remnant puzzle is pretty simple (I really like the vault) Wait till you return later, then the side quests explode... all in all the whole planet easily reaches Hinterlands level of grind. The vault was interesting, though, I have to give them that. It REALLY doesnt though. Im more of a DA fan than ME, but the Hinterlands broke me completely. After trying for hours to complete it i just gave up, and ignored every bit of content besides companion and story quests. So after seeing how big Eos was my Andromeda goodwill sank to rock bottom and i was dreading to continue. After all, i couldnt stomach this crap in a setting im WAY more invested in, so what chance does Mass Effect have? Fast forward a bit, and i have almost 100 percented Eos, Havarl, and Kadara, and truly 100 percented Voeld, and it never felt like a grind at all. I just explore a planet, and solve all quests that are on the way. After im done, i complete the few leftovers in no time at all via fast travel. And i only "almost" 100 percented the first three planets because i refuse to do the four or five quests that expect you to search a planet without any direction or questmarkers. F those. But these are only 4 or 5 anyway, so no big loss. Im actually kinda perplexed right now. I hate grindy gameplay so much that i refuse to play JRPGs without cheats, and had an hour long discussion with someone about how it makes no sense to me that people like Destiny and Borderlands, but i had almost no problem with Andromeda while most of you guys do. Normally its the other way around. ^^
