Frankly I never felt like the Initiative was in any sort of trouble throughout the entire game. I mean, aside from a few minutes when you get to the Nexus, but then they plug your ship in and everything is solved instantly. They had no colonies and almost 0 resources, but our mere presence solved everything. What kind of supplies did a sleeper ship even have? Enough for itself AND a 7km space station? What? This... lack is shown in dialogue as well. We're fighting an interstellar war and apparently we can hold our own with no armed ships, outpost defenses or supplies of any kind. Why be serious when nothing around you is? Honestly, the dialogue is spot on. Oh, our AI is shut down and one of our ships was stolen? No worries, our pathfinder can now control an entire fleet of remnant ships all by himself/herself. Hahahahahahahah see ya at the bar bro

In time this will most certainly become a thing but we're not there yet to be using it fully. This. We are not there yet, also can we please stop trying to let the computer do everything? One of the biggest reasons for the state of MEA at launch was Bioware obsessively wasting it's time to make the game world procedurally generated. For the moment no procedurally generated world will compare to one that's been hand made. Now generated dialogues? Yikes.

Eladeen: The best imo. I loved the giant crashed ship on the horizon, the beautiful sand dunes, the "oh no" moment when driving at full speed and coming across an area filled with sinkholes, The krogan storyline was neat and didn't wear out it's welcome (but it could have been slightly longer). Also while the weird invulnerable mechanical worm thing was neat it couldn't have hurt to know more about it or involve it in a quest in some way.
H-047c: Looks great, love the low gravity and flying across huge canyons in the buggy while the companions are all screaming in the backseat, could have taken advantage of it by adding a bit more to do there, wasn't a big fan of the domed shooting arenas but put up with them.
Havarl: It looked beautiful, i enjoyed the fact that there was a planet where we didn't have a buggy, loved getting into firefights among the trees and at times not knowing where the enemy was, was surprised to realise that you could go down into the giant crevasse and explore it.
Voeld: Like the environment as i've always been a fan of icy places, loved the start where you exit the base into a freezing raging blizzard, liked fighting to the top of the kett base and looking out over a large part of the map.
Eos: Boring, but pretty once the radiation goes down and you can explore a bit more. First planet where I fought/saw an architect, that will stay in my mind for a while.
Kadara: Didn't like anything about it, sorry. Didn't care about Sloane, or the feud, or Reyes, didn't care about the environment or any of the quests and ESPECIALLY not the constant go to the elevator back to port then go back down onto the larger planet, then back up the elevator then down again. Not much else for me to say here.

Not interested in Anthem at all. Playing with friends is all fine and dandy, but not if that's all the game is. I want to immerse myself in the game and experience things at my own pace and in whatever order I want. Constant grouping up with friends removes those entirely for me. MEA dlc please.

Dear op, You had expectations and hopes. You built it up in your mind. This is your biggest error here. I don't see personal stories working well. DA2 tried it somewhat and the fanbase kept yelling that they want to be a snowflake, that they play games to be the best, the most special messiah of the multiverse. I was also disappointed in how it unfolded because I keep expecting the best from these guys and for a while now they have failed to deliver. MEA is not a bad game in any way, I certainly enjoyed it for the most part. At worst it's a missed opportunity. Yeah it could have been much better, but this is what Bio wanted to make. We can take it or leave it. Personally I'm looking forward to a new game in the series, crappy plots, time-frozen npcs and countless boring tasks included. 1) Let me remind you that The Witcher 3 and even Horizon: Zero Dawn to some extent were personal stories.....and yet those were critical AND financial successes. The main complaint for DA2 was that it felt rushed, too linear, and too streamlined. 2) If this is what Bioware wanted to make then by all means they make whatever they want to make. Whether that means it will be a financial or critical success is another story and EA is not going to continue to throw money at Bioware to make Mass Effect games if their games is not generating the required ROI. So yeah, we can take it or leave it, but if more people leave it than take it, expect MEA to be the last Mass Effect title ever made by Bioware because EA will not waste more money on a ME game that isn't a financial success. DAI was a financial success for EA which is why there is a DA4 in development. Coming off the financial success of DAI, you would have thought that MEA, a more popular brand than Dragon Age, would be able to at least match, if not top the financial success of DAI but it looks like that has not happened. After DAI was released EA always made it known. Two months after the release of DAI, EA bragged about the success of DAI. However it has been about 3 months since the release of MEA and all I hear is crickets in the background regarding any financial success for MEA. You can downplay it all you want but that is really significant considering that DAI one MANY GOTY awards (in a weak gaming year IMO) and it was the fastest selling Bioware game and DA is less popular than ME so logic would say that MEA should have been able to easily top that and yet that hasn't happened. Also, unlike DAI which won a slew of GOTY awards, I doubt MEA wins any awards, which is also telling considering that ALL 3 previous Mass Effect titles won GOTY awards which ME2 I believe winning the most. The fact that MEA will not win any says a lot. So yeah, take it or leave it.....but I imagine that more people will be leaving it than taking it. When i talked about personal stories I was talking mostly withing the confines of Bioware's abilities and it's rabid fanbase. Yes, DA2's main issue was the crazy asset reuse, the wildly spawning enemies and the disjointed story arcs, but whenever someone dared say that the more focused personal story was better, biofans would start screaming that they want to be superheroes from the get-go and save the world and be acknowledged as such. Those other games were critical successes not necessarily because they told a personal story, but because of other factors as well such as quality of writing or better game design, or not lying to their fanbase about features that eventually always get cut. Every time Bioware announces a game, they tell us about all these amazing things we're going to do and when the game itself comes out, nothing is there. I might be wrong, but DAI won so many awards because it had Bioware written on it and because it came at the end of a bad year in gaming. MEA not only had a metric ton of issues, it came out in the same month as some very acclaimed titles like horizon, zelda, nier automata.

When we look at Andromeda in the present day, we see it as it was around 2+ million years ago. When they looked at it with the all-purpose-magic-relay telescope, the time lag was considerably less, but still not real time. The whole reason they noticed an unnatural number of golden worlds is because the vault network was already up and working long before the AI launched.
The angara can't be the jaardan. At the very least because whatever we see of their ancient city on voeld looks nothing like the vaults or khi tasira.
The 300-400y old thing I can't explain. It's likely things got mixed up at Bioware or as you said, because our scanner is SAM-less the estimate is completely off.

If we're talking about the quest where the curator sends you to find artifacts around the galaxy, then that can only be the angaran statue. I only played once so my memory may be rusty, but she also wonders what it represents. If it's some alien race or the way her people used to look. Found a better-ish pic. imgur.com/2fUMKKW

I didn't feel much intensity from MEA. Did it have it's moments? Yes. Intense ones? No.
I suppose people like Meridian, but I didn't. It just didn't work for me. Not with what happened on the screen and not with the music. Nothing seemed to go together very well in my eyes/ears.
I liked ME1 from the Sovereign reveal onwards when everything kicks into high gear, that part basically saved the game for me. ME2 has cool moments everywhere despite being kind of a mess and you can't tell me that the suicide mission doesn't fit perfectly both visually and aurally. Despite disliking almost the entirety of ME3, I felt that the end assault on Earth with the fleets warping out near the relay and landing the shuttle in a hot zone shooting all the way down was really awesome.
MEA never came close. I had more fun exploring and wandering around aimlessly than I did finishing the game.

At the end of the game you get to pick the Andromeda Initiative ambassador to the new Heleus Council.
I was very tempted to go Morda but frankly I thought I gave enough strength to the krogan what with the whole super advanced dreadnaught core used to power lightbulbs. In the end I picked the Prodromos leader. My problem came when talking to the Moshae afterward. She was very... confrontational/upset that I didn't choose her. Why would I choose her to be the Initiative's ambassador? She doesn't know us, she didn't come with us from the MW. Sure she's an ally, but she's not Initiative.
Did i misunderstand something? Was the chosen ambassador meant to represent something else?

Before the game came out people were saying that the AI launches after the suicide mission but before Lair of the Shadow Broker. We don't know for sure though. What we know for sure is that Garrus tells his dad about the whole Reaper thing after he departs the SR2 and Alec learns about them from Castis thus speeding up the launch.

I always buy physical and my preference didn't change for MEA. I like having the games in my hand/on my shelf and stare at the collection with semi-pride. It's also somewhat cheaper and activating the code on Origin gives me exactly the same thing as digital standard edition, but i also get a disc in a box. Unfortunately, for the life of me I COULD NOT find a physical version of this game in the first week of release. It was nowhere, no store had it and I didn't want to wait another week so... I got the digital version. *sadface*

I voted yes. I think people have gone way too crazy with the romances. It's weird to buy a shooter type game just for 15m of "romantic" dialogue. For a while now, I've been getting the feeling that it's the sole reason bioware games get sales.

TNG's way of doing things isn't really in tune with bioware's target demographic though. People want to shoot kett in the face not ask questions about the meaning of life. Also considering the writing we had to ignore in andromeda to enjoy the game, I don't think the writing team would be up for that kind of thing.

I definitely don't want quarians. 100% they'll be in andromeda, but they are by far my most hated race in the franchise. Personally i'd like to see more hanar. That much? Not sure what you're asking exactly. The quarian ark is referenced early on in the game. Don't remember if it's just a codex entry or if a character actively talks about it. If you're asking how much i dislike them, then yes, very much. After ME1 I just couldn't stand how idiotic and pigheaded they are. I mean... besides kal'reegar, he's awesome.

The problem is that Alecs face doesn't adjust to match yours but rather just has 9 different presets depending on whether you pick head 1-8 or stick with default male ryder. He also always matches male ryder apparently whether your playing him or hes your brother. The only thing he will match on in regards to customisation is the eye colour. As others have said easiest fix is letting us select keep default Alec Ryder face similar to our twin. They could open up CC for dad to that would help. I played Sara and chose very different presets for the siblings. For me, Alec looked like he was based on the character that i was playing and not the brother. In that specific playthrough, momRyder looked like she was based off broRyder. At least according to skin color.

It has a lot of negatives, but yes I really did. Unlike another recent Bioware game, I DID NOT get bored in the first hour. Instead, I've played it non stop until origin took it away from me.
PLEASE, ORIGIN JUST 5 MORE MINUTES!

I don't know how long, it depends on how much the exploration aspect differs from DA:I. Yes, I'm one of those guys. If i get flashbacks of that other game, I'll stick to the very basics. If not, I'll probably end up doing everything.
