It's amazing how much Jaal loves and respects Scott. It is awesome to see such a positive male/male romance in a BioWare game without all the baggage that most of the other m/m options have been like in the past. It is easy to tell that's how Jaal was originally meant to be. All the changes fit seamlessly with the content already in place. Perfect! Don't forget the first explicit m/m sex scene (a good one too) in Bioware game.

Bioware dev has replied on Reyes thread Tiberius Hello, and thanks to the team for making another patch (1.09). Unfortunately it doesn't fix the clipping issue in the Reyes/Scott dance. In fact, there seemed to be additional eye tracking issues with Scott that I hadn't noticed before. An Answers HQ bug report has been made and the issue has been brought up at this forum and on the ME subreddit several times. Reyes fans aren't as numerous as Jaal fans, so there won't be a massive twitter campaign about this, but I'm writing this tagged message just in the probably vain hope that this problem might at least be acknowledged. I would rather if it was just said that this M/M relationship is unimportant and will be ignored. It would make it easier to just to peace out and leave the matter rest, instead of vainly checking in to see if something's been done after every patch. This probably is among the least issues to the devs, but the writing and voice acting is very good and touching, and deserves better than the current animation. I therefore would like a confirmation, if possible, whether or not the patch creating devs are even aware of this bug. Thank you. Yes, we're aware of this issue. (And everything else that's been reported through EA Answers) Unfortunately, we're not always able to fix everything. Either because the fix causes ugly knock-on effects, or because we don't have enough resources to fix everything in the allotted time for a given patch, in which case we have to prioritize issues based on a mix of severity (crashes are much worse than aesthetic issues, for instance) and how often they're encountered in the wild (something that happens 100% of the time on the critical path is vastly more important to patch than a bug that occurs 1 time out of 50 on an optional objective in the bottom of a random cave). In any case: Apologies!

I am glad that this campaign is going so well. I think at this point it makes a business sense (to me) that there should be at least one story DLC. Obviously fans want it so it should make a profit (really anything ME franchise should make profit anyway). And it is one way to make people forget about somewhat poor reception at the beginning.

These data are not quite conclusive. EA wants 3M units sold during March 21- March 31, and it is not quite clear that ME:A achieved this, since the OP in the 2nd post assumes that sale rank in worldwide follows sale rank in the US. Much is still not clear if ME:A reached the goal though it is likely that it did. But fortunately the situation of ME:A is better than the situation of Dead Space 3 and Crysis 3 where they both missed the goal significantly and were shelved afterward. I am less concerned about ME franchise's future now. It still could go either way...

I would be sad if this is the end of ME franchise. This would be the third time EA kills my favorite franchises. First with Command and Conquer, second with Dead Space, and Mass Effect might be the third.

I'm glad that it turns out to be a hoax. Though I still hope Bioware makes some announcement regarding DLCs or future of ME:A soon.
I would like at least one DLC (with romance content for all!) for ME:A but I guess I will keep my expectation in check this time around.

Oh boy. Apparently there was this post (now deleted) made by Sinclair Networks stating that "there will be no story DLC for Mass Effect Andromeda from us" [ original thread] For those who don't know, Sinclair Networks is a 3rd party game dev company hired by some AAA developers (including Bethesda, Ubisoft, and yes Bioware) to support game development and/or help with post production. [ source1][ source2] They have been credited for helping with ME:A. Of course since they deleted it, this is not a confirmation. I hope there will be official statement from EA or Bioware soon.

My favorite husbando tier list from ME and DA - Sugar tier: Jaal. He is sweet, expressive, and passionate, and he's willing to protect you. Bonus point for the best m/m sex scene in Bioware games so far. - Marriage tier: Kaidan. He's the hottest one. Alliance solders must work out a lot. Bonus point for being a cool, mature, and stable guy. He's marriage material. - Soulmate tier: Anders. It's the most dramatic and passionate romance of all. It has all the taste: sweetness, sadness, anger, and so on. It's him and you against the world. - Fling tier: Iron Bull because why not.

And speaking of ace-spectrum romance, I hope Bioware does research and considers feedback from actual people in ace-spectrum. Last thing we need is a fetishized ace-spectrum romance.

Hey y'all. I'll give the demon it's due. Bioware stepped up and fixed their mistake. I think I will actually purchase Andromeda now...when it goes on sale. There's no way in The Water Temple Bioware is getting $60+ outta me after all this shit. In the meantime I'll be occupying myself with this: www.nexusmods.com/masseffect/mods/80/?This is a mod for Mass Effect 1 that allows same-sex romances without the often associated issues. It uses unused dialog so your Shepard is not misgendered and uses same-sex silhouettes during the sex scene. The save carries over to ME2 and ME3 but the issues within those respective games remain. Enjoy. ^^^^^ Just a reminder. Took a decade but we can play Mass Effect as it was intentioned finally. Happy Pride!!! -And as ariatloak points out, the mod is available for Xbox as well. - The original reddit post I believe: https://www.reddit.com/r/masseffect/comments/5vvrz9/samesex_romances_mod_for_me1_released/ I love this mod. Before it, I used console commands to switch gender and misgendering and missing dialogues were annoying. Ninja-mancing prevention is also welcomed.

Ahhh the same old arguments that "[insert minority groups] are never happy/satisfied" and that "[insert minority groups] are only x% of the population" therefore they don't deserve equal representation/romance options. I swear some homophobes are so lazy that they are now plagiarizing these arguments lol.

You, fanfiction writers, are a bless. I would love to hear what people come up with improvements to the baby conversation or the baby plot. I wrote Jill out of the picture and the baby too. I guess for me it's too late to make the baby work, but that's just me personally. I'm sure it wouldn't take much effort to do better then BioWare did. I've seen several people do so in this thread alone. Oh I read what you wrote and liked it. I am happy with taking her and the baby out of the picture as well. I think there are more ways to get around this as well. I am sure Bioware is capable of that too but the question is whether they would be willing to do so or not, especially in a DLC or the next game.

It seems to me that they approached it from a "two dads" view and thought that players would like it and think it sweet. There are some players who do indeed feel this way. But the execution was horrendous. I think your method here would have been SO much better for showing that, and also would have shown Gil growing as a person from his relationship with Scott. On the other hand... the current way makes me feel less bad about declining the baby because it does come across as him being influenced by Jill, rather than something that HE really wants and understands the full implications of. I don't like the options when you decline. Scott starts to say something, but Gil interrupts by saying that, whatever the reason is, it doesn't matter and he's fine with it. But communication is important to me, and I wouldn't want to leave it like that. I feel like I was deprived of a roleplay opportunity in the scene. I actually did write up a fic (haven't posted it yet) where they do just that. When I put it up, I'll be sure to drop a link by here. But yeah... The fact that the whole thing happens in the space of a two minute conversation at best is ludicrous. Like, this is a major, life changing event, this is something you put time and thought into, not just jump into it because the opportunity happens to exist in this moment - it's not even like this is a decision that HAS to be made at that moment. I mean, I get the impression that Ryder, Gil, and Jill are all in the same age range, which means that Jill's still going to be able to bear a child for at least another ten YEARS, not even getting to the option of using other surrogates. Nothing about this decision HAS to be taking place right this very second. You, fanfiction writers, are a bless. I would love to hear what people come up with improvements to the baby conversation or the baby plot.

Welp, I am late, but thank you Artemis for killing it and calling out. I am glad I am not the only one who notice those things. I think the whole baby thing with Gil would have worked better if the involvement with Jill was limited to her being just a surrogate or a facilitator. Like the idea of having baby should have been brought up by Gil with nothing to do with Jill. And if you said yes to the baby, he could then ask Jill for help. This way there would be no duty to procreate stuff, and the baby would belong to yours and Gil's alone. It seems to me that they approached it from a "two dads" view and thought that players would like it and think it sweet. There are some players who do indeed feel this way. But the execution was horrendous. I think your method here would have been SO much better for showing that, and also would have shown Gil growing as a person from his relationship with Scott. But communication is important to me, and I wouldn't want to leave it like that. I feel like I was deprived of a roleplay opportunity in the scene. Oh yeah I would love a really long talk with him about the baby because it is not a small decision. The whole conversation feels too short and too abrupt. Now I hope for a system like DA Keep because I regret my decision about the baby and I would love to change it.

It's kinda funny that they said they wanted to avoid evil-bi trope but then continued with the "flirty bisexual men who flirt only with women" trope instead. I have a feeling with having bisexual men openly flirting with men is considered too risky for Bioware since it might offend a certain demographic. What about Dorian and IB? I thought it was adorable, but it stopped once I romanced IB. It was great one, but IB still flirted with women more than men. Still that was something. Now we just need that in ME games.

Depends on the character; Zevran, Anders (early on anyway), Isabella, and Iron Bull were all openly flirtatious. Leliana and Sera less so, but they still made comments on finding other women (and sometimes men in Lelianaa's case) attractive. Sure, it would be nice for the player to be able to discuss flirting with other people with such paramours, but I suppose the writers considered it a minor issue to the overall word budget. Besides, you knew these people were flirts when you pursued them, did you honestly expect their personalities to do an instant 180 on one of their core characteristics simply for player entitlement? If you have issues with such openly flirtatious personalities, why did you chose them in the first place?
Because we dont have options? XD The fact Jaal is flirty and Lee doesnt like that doesnt mean that he doesnt like Jaal's personality lol Jaal is the only m/m character with good content and squadmate status, and personality wise is a dream for a lot of us with his sappy personality. I dont like Dorian as LI because he's not my type, and I like IB a lot, but I didnt like the fact he only talks about women, but I'm not ditching the character as whole because of that. Adoribull is well hidden and it doesnt count. Ps. I dont mind flirty characters tbh, what annoys me it's that always are bisexual men who do this and prefer women. It's kinda funny that they said they wanted to avoid evil-bi trope but then continued with the "flirty bisexual men who flirt only with women" trope instead. I have a feeling with having bisexual men openly flirting with men is considered too risky for Bioware since it might offend a certain demographic.

I'm over the moon happy that Jaal's romance is as well done as it is. Aside from the obvious issues that he's so flirty with the females on board, it's clearly the most well done romance we've had in a BioWare game. So I'm happy with it. I hope in the future we can have romance options that don't flirt wildly with others though. I really personally don't see the appeal of it. I mean does anyone really want their love interest flirting with other people right in front of them? Is that a thing people like? Same here. I would have given Jaal romance a perfect score if he had not flirted so much to other female characters. So as soon as he starts flirting with them in Nomad, I stop the car and disembark lol.

I feel like the import system is something very unique to BioWare games as not many other companies do it, so it'd be a shame to completely abandon it. Choices like who are the pathfinders at the end are unique for sure as all 3 can either be different people or there just not be a turian pathfinder. Plus if any of the characters return they would most likely make references to Ryder and his/her history (romance for example). So I think it is something they should do. I know they already have a site built that lets us upload our custom Ryders, so it wouldn't be a shock to find out later on that there's already a system being worked on. (I hope that's the case) I think ME:A has a lot of those situations where the consequence of your choices has not happened yet but could occur in the next game. I hope they continue, and as you said not many games have decisions in a previous game carried over to the next. I do also hope that they will use a system similar to DA keep so that I could crease a world state without playing through the game again if I need to change it.

I think you misunderstand me when I said "let her take care of it." What I meant is that Gil would be still on board the Tempest and the baby is with Jill rather than being on the Tempest. So the first way makes sense. Yes, the second way implies that Jill, for some reasons, gives me and Gil the baby. And yes I left out how that is going to happen. There are ways to do this, including having Jill dead, which I am completely fine with. There are other causes that would allow me to take the baby, but I leave the details out because those would probably upset people. My point was that you have to consider how likely it is that they would actually write that scenario into the game. I don't think it is likely at all. Aside from everything else, I think the whole baby thing is dumb, and for the reason that the whole Old God Baby is dumb. Having a character, especially the PC, become a parent is a commitment. Not only is it a commitment for the characters, but it is a commitment for the writers of those characters. It is perhaps the ultimate writing oneself into a corner. Once that choice is made, everything else about those characters has to take the baby into consideration. In the next game (if there is one), if you choose to have the baby, a portion of Gil's word budget would be taken up with baby stuff, telling us where it is, perhaps lame "I never expected it to be like this" anecdotes, and so on. Ugh... I'm practically nauseous just thinking about it. It never should have been in the game. If it absolutely had to be, it should have been relegated to something akin to Trespasser DLC. That's true. That's not likely to happen at all. What is more likely (and is the one I hate to see) is that they will sideline Gil in the next game, move him off the Tempest and have him take care of the baby with Jill. Sigh.. as you said, the baby thing was a mistake.
