If squad commands were actually needed, I'd keep them where they are, but the game is easy enough that the only time I used them was when the game told me to while Alec was doing his door thing.
Wouldn't have a problem with them moving to the wheel, though.

Giving her the drive core is perhaps the biggest moment of idiocy in the entire story of ME:A, and that is saying something. The reasoning makes no sense. You are taking an alien drive core that powered a massive ship full with incredible technology, and you are giving it to a tribe of barbarians essentially, so they can power a few turrets and whatever other technological doodads they have there?... Something like this could and should have been used to provide the entire Nexus with say, a powerful shield, or a weapon, to defend from the Kett attack, which at this point was inevitable. Well, it also gives you a colony and the means to power that as well. Can't keep everyone on the Nexus forever.

Yeah I went through the dedicated topic on General Discussion myself, and it was OP's interpretation of EA that MEA was a financial success. It was a major contributor to EA's earnings which were better than last year when we had Mirror's Edge among others. To call MEA a financial success would be an optimistic assumption, but it doesn't look like it's an outright failure in that regard. I mean, we just can't tell based on the info released. It was one of two major releases and was always going to be a "significant contributor." We don't know the breakdown among the titles or where expectations were. Any conclusion (either way) is completely groundless based on the contents of the call. Was Mirror's Edge released in exactly the same quarter? If not, it's not part of the YoY comparison. Also I don't think Mirror's Edge is comparable to ME or FIFA but maybe I'm wrong about that. Mirror's edge (which was not a hit) plants vs zombies 2, and a ufc game (by far the smallest in the EA Sports stable). So yeah, not the highest bar to set for year on year growth.

How about you provide a source that isn't a site that panders to the type of people who lie about, harass, and threaten women who work at BioWare? Show me literally one single other site that has actually contacted EA themselves and gotten the same reply. Hell, show me one gaming journalism site that anyone actually gives a crap about, not these niche pandering trash hills like MMORPG or TechRaptor. Hey fluffy, is Ian Frazier tweeting that he's with Motive after the recent merger good enough? I'm sure Techraptor will receive your apology any second now, right?

Ian S. Frazier @tibermoonOh, I'm still around. Just with EA Motive now, that's all. Can't talk about what I'm working on yet, though. -Glad to see he's staying true to form. Still can't tell us what he's doing... Ian S. Frazier @tibermoon
I'm with EA Motive now, following the recent merger. Not much to say beyond that at the moment, since the game I'm on now is unannounced. -I'm guessing its something Star Wars-y But... but, it's totally not a merger, guiz... just sharing office space.

Someone on Twitter: Is there any chance of an Xbox One X patch for Mass Effect Andromeda? Ian S. Frazier: No idea, sorry. I'm no longer with BioWare, but you could ask someone in Edmonton. So Frazier is no longer with Bioware and questions about Andromeda are answering folks at Edmonton. Interesting. I think Montreal is really dead. And Ian's follow-up answer, just for the "it's not a merger" crowd: "I'm with EA Motive now, following the recent merger. Not much to say beyond that at the moment, since the game I'm on now is unannounced"

I still really, really hope there is dlc and more games coming because I like MEA. But the more you post, a little part of me wants to get confirmation that there is nothing.

There's no annoyingly vague statements about it. They just said very clearly in english that they hired 100 more to work on someone specific's team for an IP they are working on and that they moved the montreal team into that space as well. The clarification we got seems like people now want to refuse acceptance or put in on EA. Same Facility is as clear as it gets. They weren't downsized They weren't fired. They weren't sent packing or moved to some dark side of the moon. It was an office change. How is that corporate speak. It's worth noting that none of this would even be a fucking discussion if Schrier hadn't been the town crier that went on a kick to report information that now proves to not be accurate at all as best as I can tell. These debates have grown tiresome and all of them stem from his not very accurate journalism. Did he get any of that article about montreal right? Any of it? If he had not rung that bell, I doubt we'd have a subforum with about 100 pages total on all things related to montreal and what that means for the game's future including DLC. Montreal BW moved to another building and it could be as simple as leasing issues for all we know. But it was reported as anything but that. Unfucking believable. I'm not getting into this with you and your rose tinted goggles. Here, have this: "With multiple major projects in development in Montreal, we are merging BioWare Montreal with Motive Studios. This is an ongoing process, but there are many exciting roles and opportunities for everyone on the team.” techraptor.net/content/bioware-montreal-merge-ea-motive

? Two months after Mass Effect: Andromeda launched to dismal critical reception, reports from Kotaku's Jason Schreier indicate EA down-sized BioWare Montreal, the studio that made the game, and put the Mass Effect series on hiatus. The remaining BioWare developers were then spread out across EA Motive and BioWare's core Edmonton division to help work on the latter's new IP, Anthem, the reports continue. Now EA has officially confirmed the fate of its Montreal studio, validating the reports from May of this year. While discussing R&D spend in a recent quarterly earnings call, EA Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen said BioWare Montreal has been moved into the EA Motive studio to help Jade Raymond's team develop a new IP. "We're building out a new studio in Montréal, as we've told everyone. And we've hired over 100 people into that studio that are brand-new to EA. This is to build the new IP around Jade Raymond's team that she's been building. I was in that studio last month. And it's a wonderful new addition to our team. And we brought our BioWare Montréal team into that same facility. So they now all sit in one new studio together," Mr. Jorgensen said during the call. Read more: www.tweaktown.com/news/58611/ea-confirms-bioware-montreal-moved-motive/index.html"And we brought our BioWare Montréal team into that same facility. So they now all sit in one new studio together." That's...not closed down. That's moving into new digs. It's an annoyingly vague statement, drenched in corporate speak, though. People focus a lot on the "same facility" part of that statement, and seem to ignore "new studio". I'm not making any claims to which is the correct interpretation, but it certainly can be read as "we've relocated the members of the BioWare Montreal team, they are now part of the new studio we are building under the Motive name". Again, not saying that's what they mean, but it's a possible and valid way to read it. "Studio" when talking game developers has a connotation of "this corporate entity that produces games" rather than "shared office space".

Yet its still a significant contributor to EA sales. "But, to be perfectly fair, Mass Effect: Andromeda was destined to represent year-over-year growth for EA. That's because EA's major first quarter releases in 2016 were UFC 2, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 (although that actually launched at the tail-end of the fourth quarter). Andromeda was going to dwarf those other games based on name alone. EA doesn't make any concrete mention of how Mass Effect: Andromeda performed. There's nothing about whether it was profitable or how many units it moved or how it did compared to EA's expectations. There's only vague comment about how it positively influenced specific segments. That alone is telling. Mass Effect: Andromeda was good enough to contribute to a solid quarter in a meaningful way, but it wasn't good enough to warrant more Mass Effect in the near future." www.destructoid.com/ea-had-a-good-quarter-and-mass-effect-was-a-key-factor-451727.phtmlThanks for digging that up, I had the wikipedia list of EA games up and sorted to 2016 but couldn't be bothered to look for exact dates for each title. But quite a few people in this thread could do with reading up on what year-on-year means in this context. Plants Vs Zombies seems to have been quite successful, but UFC is probably the smallest of the EA Sports franchises and Mirror's Edge genuinely bombed. To improve on that quarter's worth of releases with an established, popular franchise in the following matching fiscal quarter is to be expected. And before the pouf-brigade sets on me: I quite like Andromeda in its current form, release version was underwhelming and I want DLC.

Are you referring to the mp email survey? Not personally, but people on here have/been discussed. Yes I did and I answered both. Could not write as much as I wanted to though.
So, they're only interested in the opinions of people who play MP?
For this one, yes. The questions are about the contents and pricing of multiplayer packs, so that makes sense.

ME:A takes it by a hair for me, if we're allowed to discount the "scan x random things" tasks. I really can't be bothered with anything that doesn't have a map marker with at least a general search location.
ME2 also had great side content, but I can't vote for it since the whole game feels like a side quest to me. The main story is so paper thin if you count loyalty missions as side content.

That's no excuse for releasing a broken product in the first place. It's a fix after the fact, but it punishes themselves by poor reviews and word of mouth, and it punishes the fans who buy early by getting an inferior product to those who get it on sale in six months. It's not a BioWare-exclusive problem, it's a damned disease of this industry. Just because we have bandages doesn't make it a good idea to stab a fork in your hand :-) The point is while its ideal to release a 'finished' game at release I would rather have them devote time to patching a broken game then go 'gee, we released a broken game, oh woe is us!' Well yeah, fixing after the fact is better than not fixing at all, no argument there. I just wish developers (or rather, publishers) would not rush out broken games and then rely on patching. See also: AC: Unity, Batman: Arkham Knight. Neither are bad games at the core, but they were released in a state that made them permanent jokes. I can't personally speak for the Batman game as I never got it, but Unity (much like andromeda) is actually a pretty good game these days. But that's not what people remember when they hear the name.

If your friend was late to the party, that's a significantly different experience than what we got at launch, which was a broken game. It frankly deserved the mockery. Had a similar experience with a friend who's only seen the extended cut endings of ME3 and wasn't quite sure what all the fuzz was about. Again, very different to the launch experience. As to the OP's claim, I'm more in the "respectful nodding and a thumbs up" camp than the multiple exclaimation points awesome as well. It's a good game, but even with the technical fixes, it only makes its way to "good" in my book. That's why companies can patch games these days... Just because we have bandages doesn't make it a good idea to stab a fork in your hand :-)

Peebee and Drack were pretty good, if slightly focused on Drack being old.
Cora and Drack didn't seem to have much to say, although it was funny when Drack offered Cora shooting lessons.
Yeah, I tend to take that grumpy old krogan with me a lot... Something give it away?

yes. MOST who play it like it and that's a fact. Nice to see poisitive threads. SPread the word and convince your friends to play i too. Prove them how terrrible gaming community is. We literally deserve bad games with an expensive season pass as a whole. My friend, who doesn't follow a ton of Bioware news but watches The Kind Of Funny group (who were fairly positive about the game) has been playing the heck out of it since I convinced him to get it. He loves it and cannot see what all the bashing was about.
