She was the established ruler throughout 2 games and the majority of a third. And depending on player choice she will be again in the 4th. Not to mention all of the comics, novels and extended DA content. I'm aware. Just pointing out for some people she isn't Empress presently.

I'm saying the important characters being all LGBT in the same game. So let's focus on the last one, rn. Empress Celene is only truly featured in one mission and has a couple cameos later. Same with Briala. Dorian's great. Anders was not in DA:I. Josephine's great but she barely had any relationship to the main plotline except kind of just being there. Divine Leliana I agree was very important. Maevaris hasn't been in any games, at all. Well I guess we could count Dragon Age 2, unless you see the LIs as playersexual. Isabella was used in the trailer. Anders wasn't in Dragon Age Inquisition, but his action caused the game's plot lol. Without Josephine, the Inquisition probably would have had to be in countless battles. I'm hoping Maevaris will be a companion I'm DA4. She may not have been in the games, but she has the comics. I'm a big Dragon Age fan, so I read all of the stuff more than I do for Mass Effect, so I'm counting every Dragon Age piece of literature. Nevertheless, Empress Celene rules all of Orlais, which is makes her important whether she's on screen or not. Not necessarily...

I think you get to choose the VS in a ME3 fresh game. Yeah I can understand the appeal of his voice, I know people love that type of masculine, deep voice, it just doesn't appeal to me. Unfortunately neither did Steve so I haven't yet had the chance to be properly gay in space, so i'm holding a lot of hope for Andromeda. You can only choose the VS when starting a new game if you have the Comic Book DLC (or a save from ME1 or ME2 of course). Otherwise for ME3, if you choose male Shep, you automatically get Ash, and for female Shep you get Kaidan. I think it was the same in ME2. Are you sure? I don't have the comic book dlc and started a game a few moments ago and it gave me a choice. I know ME2 doesn't though.

My issue is nothing to do with his character, im afraid its entirely superficial. I can't stand his voice, that gravelly tone is like vocal fry to me. I also quite like Ashley so its not a decision that weighs heavy on me. I find the voice sexy, but I see your point. The more distinctive a quality is, the more potential it has to grate on people. I certainly don't dislike Ashley, but I always found her kind of "meh." But then I've never had her survive the first game, so I never got to see her development and character arc. Maybe I should play ME3 while waiting for Andromeda. If you don't import a save, the opposite gender VS is the one that appears in the game. I think you get to choose the VS in a ME3 fresh game. Yeah I can understand the appeal of his voice, I know people love that type of masculine, deep voice, it just doesn't appeal to me. Yeah, Kaidan is dead in my ME3 playthroughs and I still prefer Miranda to Cortez. The romance is creepy and as you said he looks odd. Please keep in mind that I'm not criticizing your choices as everyone has their unique perspective, but I'm surprised you've never tried the Kaidan romance. It's my favorite BioWare romance of all time. Disclaimer #1: Kaidan is a little boring, but I'm of an age and temperament where I like stability. All the Dragon Age m/m options had too much baggage or personalities that I found tiresome after awhile. Disclaimer #2: A lot of my satisfaction with the romance is backfilled with my imagination and head canon.
Anyway, I liked the slow arc over the course of three games. I imagine that my Sheperd had persistent guilt that he sacrificed Ashley basically because he couldn't bear losing Kaidan. I imagine he was interested in ME1 but didn't think Kaidan reciprocated, so he romanced Liara. The option wasn't there in ME2. In the Prologue to ME3, Kaidan flashes this wonderful knowing look to Sheperd. The tragedy of Kaidan's injuries allows for flirting and the depth of Sheperd's feelings to come through. Then they finally admit their feelings for each other. It was all immensely satisfying to me.
P.S. I'm sorry to deviate from the subject of this thread, but as many have pointed out, there really isn't any Gil info to talk about. *shakes fist at 13 minute intro preview*

We aren't a collective, there are people getting interesting and satisfying responses from the devs. Why should they stop? I fail to see how "Soon" "Wait and see" "You'll see" "Play the game and find out" are interesting and satisfying responses? But hey if you find them interesting and satisfying, sure, carry on asking the devs. I'm just trying to be a bit realistic. We know we aren't going to get a clear answer from them either way, so I think harassing them about this on Twitter gets people nowhere. Thats just my personal thought on it. People aren't just tweeting devs about romance content, but even then certain aspects revealed have satisfied people not everyone is doom and gloom. I'm interested in Vetra as a character im not concerned with what gender can romance her i'll do it regardless. I'm satisfied that I know I can?

People are still going to do it so they can speculate on what ever reaction they can prod from the devs. That Bi Cora tweet being an example. Usually I 'd say it's all good fun, but it seems tensions are high atm. I know people will continue doing so. But with Early Access, datamining all coming soon and stuff, and the reality of the game being two weeks away, what good will it do anyone really but just allow the cycle to continue of hope to fear hope to fear, high and low emotions, which cause tensions. I know cause I speak from experience. I know a lot of people are probably angry that I've gone full circle or whatever, but I have calmed down enough to realize that constantly hounding the developers at this stage gets us nowhere. We aren't a collective, there are people getting interesting and satisfying responses from the devs. Why should they stop?

Guys we are two weeks away from the game. Incessantly tweeting them asking them to reveal the romance options now won't get you anywhere. If they haven't released them already, they aren't going to release them at all. People are still going to do it so they can speculate on what ever reaction they can prod from the devs. That Bi Cora tweet being an example. Usually I 'd say it's all good fun, but it seems tensions are high atm.

Dubstep is an immediate identifier of a Geordie chav, no need for a convention of that lot. It helps round them up into one place though. Might as well hold another in south east London then.

The fan fiction world sounds wild, whats dub-con? "Dubious consent." So it's sort of like... pfff... I'm trying to figure out how to put this lol It's not rape, but technically, it is. Person A: No, I don't want to... Person B: You do though, look, you're so hard... Person A: Nooo please stop... Person B: Uhhhhh *thrust* Person A: Uhhhhhhhhh *thrust* *both come Person B: Now you're mine Person A: *crying* LMAO I feel like I just wrote a yaoi manga. That sounds ah.... kinda gross... but whatever floats peoples boats I suppose.

I don't like smutty fics either. Slow burns are my favorite kinds of fics, especially angsty ones. While I primarily read it on ao3, the amount of PWP and, how do I say this... colorful tags put me off from reading many stories... Sigh, yeah. You can exclude explicit and mature ratings, but sometimes those still have a really good story. I mostly read the tags. If it's labeled "mature" and then all the tags are like "anal fisting" and "dub-con" and such I keep scrolling. But if it's mature with "slow burn" and "friends to lovers" I'm like hell yeah, gimme summa dat. The fan fiction world sounds wild, whats dub-con?

I study Physics, and sometimes my professor bounces around the lecture hall when he's passionate about a topic. Oh I do that, too; that is just a professor thing, regardless of discipline! After all we are technically the nerdiest of nerds... Haha! It's truly rather a sight to behold, when he speaks about electromagnetism and optics he practically floats around the room.

Oh yeah Astrophysicists love talking about those stuff, especially black holes. As a material scientist myself, I am always slightly envious of how cool astronomy is, especially for public audiences and such. But I love spending some free time on reading about astronomy, and it is really really mind blowing. Like I was reading a chapter last week which described a possible situation that if a black hole is large enough, you can pass its event horizon without being shredded (not recommended though!). Perhaps I should have not dropped my relativity class when I was in college, but at least I will have ME:A to explore. sometimes I wish I'd gone into the sciences ;_; I love space so much. I've probably watched every recent documentary on astrophysics, particle physics, theoretical physics, you name it lol And now I've decided to turn my bathroom into a space bathroom. I'm going to paint the walls black and have my favorite heavenly bodies posted up, like Jupiter and its biggest moons (Europa has my heart), Proxima B, or the Trappist planets. I study Physics, and sometimes my professor bounces around the lecture hall when he's passionate about a topic.

So the trust system people have been talking about seems to have an impact on how characters react to you. I suspect that like approval in DA only squad mates will be impacted, meaning we can do whatever tf we want and still romance Gil or Suvi i'd assume?

Really!! Huh, I have seen TONS of Palavellan (Dorian x Lavellan). There's a lot on tumblr, or use to be! Regarding Cortez/Vega, I think they make a lot of sense because they are both in the same area and they have cute banter. Haha that is all the fanboys/fangirls need!!!! All my friends are straight, the banter is very similar (even bear jokes) but there is no way banter leads to bonking. I'm frequently surprised by the amount straight men interested in... boinking.

It's unfair to generalise though, evidence over assumption is the best way even if it seems a logical step. But in answer to your other question m/m content will be made of non m/m romances. I've seen many a Sheploo/Vega um artwork. (I mean.... Come on.)There'll probably be a lot of Liam/Scott and Jaal/Scott art, but I wonder if Gil/Scott fan content will surpass it in quantity. On one hand, there's the gay guy we can get without mods, on the other... He's not a squadmate, and it's no secret many prefer pairing their character with someone in the squad. Gil's reception I think will depend on if the crew mates romances really match the level of the DAI advisors. Honestly nothing we've been shown has instilled hope in me for that to be the case. 'Cause we literally know nothing

After looking at the face model I think the in game model looks more attractive? I know that sounds weird. As long as the in game model takes his clothes off as much as the real life one. And hopefully hes a bit thicker, the face model has the skinny muscle thing going on.

Dude, I'm asking you this in the most respectful manner possible: Are you aware which thread you're in? You don't have to be here if you're frustrated with us wanting more gay and being afraid this game might not deliver. And it was a simple statement in the most respectful manner. To most people in this thread the gameplay, story, etc, doesn't matter (it has been asked and answered before) just the who-can-i-romance. The rest is in my post, I won't repeat myself. Ugh, whatever, just try to keep the 672th doom&gloom conversation to 5+- pages this time. I t's hard to keep up with the thread every morning. Then don't? You very rarely seem to be enjoying it,
