Certain ones have containers you can open that will turn them blue... Others seem to be stuck white for me and I've searched every square inch. Yeah same here for example the Cave just above Eos - listened to some dialogue there but nothing seemed to turn it blue? And there is really nothing else there...

Are you supposed to do anything at them? I noticed on the map the icons for caves and structures turn from white to blue once you've explored them. Is there a way to make poi icons blue also?
There is usually some dialogue that goes on but I tend to spend a certain amount of time trying to turn these blue but there is nothing really specific.

Playing on Insanity atm and using Push, Lance and Singularity. I focus on the Assault Rifle also.
Once a group is in Singularity or even 1 person, the combos just go off with push and lance lol! It's hilarious. Also with Push, lance triggers off of this as well which is devastating. The only issue at the start are enemy shields, so be sure to use ammo to remove them quickly.

I never have high expectations for video games anymore. I've been burned out by so many that I even stopped preordering after Rome 2 because of how much of a mess that game was. It needs to be said that I haven't played DA:I barely (and I mean that, I think 2-3 hours?) to see similarities between that and ME:A.
I've been doing research about ME:A and more and more it reminded me of Mass Effect 1. Just a much better version of the game which I do believe I got from it. I'm enjoying the hell out of the game, I think the pace of it is solid, I enjoy the characters and the story so far. I felt like I was on a new journey at the start of the game and it has kept me engaged. Back this up with good combat and good main character customization and this game has me hooked. However, there are things that I just have to ask me myself "why did Bioware choose to do this?" For example;
1 - No manual save during priority missions. I'm not sure who thought this would be a good idea, but this is just a really bad concept that doesn't make any sense. I was so angry during a certain part of the game (I don't want to list spoilers) and because I chose to explore and die (playing insanity) I was sent back nearly 20 minutes? I feel punished as a player at such a hard difficulty that I feel discouraged to explore because of time wasters like this. Please change this ASAP. Just to add, why isn't there a quick save? Why?
2 - No squad customization. I feel that this is a big blow for the game that has such a large crafting system. I really love the similarities with load outs, as it again, has the ME:1 elements to it, which is fantastic in allowing me to craft and research. However, why can't I make equipment for my squad mates? This is an RPG, picking skills for my squads and not their equipment to me is just silly. I never liked this in ME:2 and I don't like it in ME:A. The crafting system is far too bloated for just 1 character. Why go to all of this effort if it's just for 1 person? It's just a waste of time that could have been spent on other things.
I'm not going to go into the CC or face animations. Answer is I could care less. Any game that involves having the main character with a voice makes me want to be their default look.
There are some good things that I just love, the game size. I enjoy MASSIVE games with so much to do and I enjoy feeling overwhelmed. I like the new conversation wheel. I like it that when I explore, it get's added into conversations. There are good things that I seriously like about this. However, I do remain a bit concerned as fans that are unhappy have clearly mentioned their dislikes in DA:I and to see these occurring again makes me concerned if Bioware is listening or not.
Overall I'm enjoying this game a lot.

To each their own, I totally disagree (regarding gameplay for example), but I feel the ship has sailed with this discussion. Hopefully, you can find a game that meets your taste. I already have, it's called The Legend of Zelda; Breath of The Wild. I've already beaten that game but I'm still dicking around in it and having fun, discovering new stuff, etc. Tbh I think The Witcher 3 and now Zelda BoTW both spoiled me, both really set a new standard for open-world games and it's hard to live up to those standards. DA:I managed to get close to that standard but fell just a little short. ME:A... falls a lot short, but that's just my opinion (well, not just my opinion, lots of people seem to share this opinion, but that's besides the point). Oh well, you seem to enjoy ME:A, so good for you mate. More power to you. See hopefully more people like you can be more frequent when discussing something I'm glad Zelda is a success, heard great things about it. And Witcher 3 is bad ass, fucking loved that game.

No need to throw out the Fanboyism and knighting. I don't appreciate those insults if I missed your point (which you didn't make it that clear TBH). You seem really angry and seem to have had high expectations which I advise to not have in the future. You said that they don't live up the quality and conventions? Such as? And don't use face animations or character creation. Those seriously aren't that big of a deal. Writing, yeah I can understand but It's not that bad lol. The combat is excellent, I enjoy how huge the game is and I enjoy many other elements towards it. So please state your reasons without throwing the insults. Again, its my opinion and I'm loving it, if you don't like it then don't buy anything else now or the future. Go play other games lol! I made it perfectly clear what I was talking about in my first post in this thread. I refresh your memory, here it is again: You can absolutely compare games to other games released that same year/decade, especially when the comparison is about the technological aspects of the game. When reviewing a game, a lot of it will be subjective because art is subjective for the most part. But what is not subjective is the technological aspect of the game. The graphics, the gameplay, the animations, the bugs, the performance, etc. Sadly, ME:A is objectively mediocre at best in those departments. The environmental graphics are stunning, but the characters look cartoony and out of place, especially with the terrible animations. The gameplay is good, not perfect but not bad either. It is however an improvement over ME3. Sadly the game has plenty of glitches and bugs, mostly of graphical nature but in general the game feels very rough around the edges. Performance-wise, the game is also rather poorly optimized. You need a beast of a machine to play this game on 'ultra' while honestly it doesn't look better than The Witcher 3 or Dragon Age: Inquisition (which both had much less extreme hardware requirements). If we look at the open-world exploration aspect of ME:A, there's much left to be desired there too. The world look graphically stunning, but the things to do feel like busywork and things get pretty repetitive and can sometimes feel like a grind. This is especially obvious after having played The Legend of Zelda; Breath of the Wild, a game that really set a new standard for open-world games and really managed to make open-world exploration fun! ME:A just falls kinda short in that aspect compared to Zelda BoTW. Then there's the writing, which is a bit more of a subjective thing, but even so, some of the dialogue feels objectively awkward and out of place, with sometimes rather questionable delivery. Several times I felt "wow, a real person would never say that" or "a real person would never say it that way". I have some objections with the main story too, but I won't be going into that here. Still, you cannot deny that some of the dialogue is just kinda bad. The more I see about this game, the more I'm convinced BioWare should have delayed the release of the game by at least another 6 months. The game feels incredibly rough around the edges and it does not hold up to the new standard set by games like The Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn and The Legend of Zelda; Breath of the Wild. I didn't have high expectations for ME:A. I already expected a game with a piece of shit story and mediocre companions because that's what the last Mass Effect gave me too. But I at least expected good gameplay, decent graphics and decent animations. But even in those departments the game sorely disappointed me, even after already lowering my expectations, the game still turned out to be disappointing, it's just that bad. I think BioWare was way in over their heads with ME:A. They tried to create a big, expansive, open-world, next-gen Mass Effect game, but they clearly did not have the manpower or talent to do so. Maybe next time, BioWare should make a smaller but more polished game that is actually fun to play. Or they should ask EA for a budget increase. Because 40 million dollars might sound like a lot, but it's not a lot for a game like this. In contrast, GTA V costed 120 million dollars to develop. So maybe EA should be less fucking greedy and give BioWare more time and more money to develop the next Mass Effect, while BioWare should be less stupid about pushing a progressive agenda and start hiring new writers and animators based on talent, not based on "diversity". To each their own, I totally disagree (regarding gameplay for example), but I feel the ship has sailed with this discussion. Hopefully, you can find a game that meets your taste.

I actually feel relieved that other people think the same way lol! I thought I was alone in this. I really enjoyed ME2 because of improvements like the Combat for example. However, the story was a hot mess and felt like a filler episode (like The Walking Dead for example). It was a story that was not required, didn't show the true weight of the decisions that you made in the 1st game and overall I never expected the game's storyline to be like that. As you said Bioware should be praised for making it work, but I feel that this game is nothing like that and really carries over as a true predecessor of the first game. I couldn't disagree more. I love ME1's story but it was short and sweet compared to ME2 and I loved the added complexity of finding crew and such. The underlying story and sub plots were woven together nicely imo. No no, you make some very good points about ME2. Calling it a hot mess was silly of me, I thought it took a direction into the series that really didn't serve much of a purpose. The reasons have already been mentioned by other people. But I did like ME2 as I said, the characters were very good and trying to get all of my crew killed on purpose was very fun

I can understand your anger, my complaints are the quicksave/manual save during priority missions and also not customizing your squads weapons or armour. To me that really limits the crafting aspect of the game. Kinda makes it too big for so little reason? I really wish we get to find out how decisions are made and what were the choices the developers made. The issue you mentioned is very interesting because it seems odd that they set out on purpose to create an inventory/craft system like we had ME1 while at the same time completely drop the companion item customization. People either enjoyed the streamlined/hassle free system of ME2 or the RPG system of ME1, don't recall anyone was clamoring for what we ended up with. I do have a theory with no basis on any fact: 1. They just ran out of time/cash and here you go 2. They "listened" the fans, both the people who liked having to go through every item in the inventory to to equip everyone, and everyone who hate it but feel obligated to do it because they are OCDs (this can be very tedious, having to check out which mod/weapon with slight stat improvement for every squad mate, and then deciding who gets what newest weapon, and who gets hand-me down, and what gets sold). So the compromise is that you can still customize ton of stuff (satisfying first group of fans), but only on the player avatar as to cut-down on the time spent on doing it (compromise to the second group of fans). You make a really good point about the decision process because this screams ME:1 (which is probably why I love this so much) but adds in so many different things from the other games. It's like they tried to cater towards everyone? Either way It's a head scratcher.

Actually Mass Effect Andromeda has the potential to be my 2nd favorite game out of the four games. I'm in the minority here It's topping my list out of all of them. All I wanted was a much better version of the first game, which is what I personally think we got. I feel sorry for the fence sitters because they are stuck with reviewers and fans that are either praising it or hanging it up in a knot. The amount of stuff to do in this game is ridiculous lol

You know how sometimes you can get so frustrated with something very minor. I am so worked up that I decided to go log back onto Bioware Social forum to complain about Andromeda, only to find out that BSN was closed down. That pissed me off even more, and I tracked down this forum just so I can get this off my chest The issues with the game is already well reported, but in my case, there are only 2 things that I really can't forgive or overlook. 1. Ugly Faces I can forgive the janky animation, because I am told animations and motion capturing are hard to do and can be expensive, so fine. I can forgive the NPCs for not looking attractive, it's their lore and story, so is Andromeda is staffed and populated by "realistic" looking individuals, fine. I can forgive the default player character for looking the way they do, because again, it's the lore, and the Ryders will have whatever DNAs they have. I cannot forgive the dumb and useless character creator. I cannot for the life me understand why the preset faces looks like offspring of Super Mutants, or why the character creator is so useless. I truly hope that Bioware was just being lazy, 'cause they are making me googling conspiracy theories having to do with some SJW people, and that's rabbit hole I wish I never crawled into. 2. 3 Active Power Limit Again, I'm not against taking away the class system, whatever the merit of that might be. I don't have a knee jerk reaction against making the class system more fluid. In fact, having different load out powers pre-saved could be kinda cool, as you can switch it up as combat progress from initial contact to full on shitstorm. But limiting the powers per load out to 3? on PC? I know that you can access the different powers via favorites as mapped to keyboard, but that's a work around to a stupid system. Imagine if you are limited to 5 powers instead for 3, wouldn't that be so much better? Not only would it open up the battle field to more power combos, it would actually make the current power swapping system more meaningful and useful in its own right, instead of a forced work around. I am not asking for perfection, I just ask that you try. You have no idea how much it makes me mad that these two minor issues are the difference between a game I really enjoy and a game that just "meh, I guess I will get buy it, I played all the previous ones." I can understand your anger, my complaints are the quicksave/manual save during priority missions and also not customizing your squads weapons or armour. To me that really limits the crafting aspect of the game. Kinda makes it too big for so little reason?

Such as the case with leveling your character...Since when has this been an option to do in this game..This is about the 8th basic aspect of this game that is very important and needed that has not even been mentioned so the player is even aware of them. Every time I see a game basic and or some other important aspect that was never explained in the game that should have by now, it just turns me away from the game and makes want a refund. This is about game devs with holding information impeding the player's ability to play the game and not about a bunch of gamers guessing and messing around and getting lucky. "Since when has this been an option to do in this game" - Not sure what you mean? Could you elaborate?

No mate. Not at all. Bioware announced that they wanted to continue new story lines within the Mass Effect universe. Commander Shephard is PART of that universe. The lore, races and Universe that Bioware made allowed them to continue making new stories and content. This was said years ago a year into ME3's release? I may be wrong but again this was mentioned several times. So I'll repeat myself, you have a company stating that they wanted to continue making new stories which is what myself and fans wanted. Shepard's story is over. It's done. Everyone knew this. So please stop posting this nonsense, this isn't a cash grab. If you cannot understand how much love has been put into this game then I feel sorry for you and I completely disagree. Bioware named it Mass Effect so people could buy it. Jesus Christ that is far off the mark, do you have evidence to back that up? The game is a better version of the first game with the amount of effort, detail and content within it. Unbelievable. Dude you're completely missing the fucking point. I didn't say shit about the story, or Shepard, or the Milky Way or any of that shit. I'm talking about the quality and conventions that people came to expect of Mass Effect and BioWare in general, and how this game simply does not live up to those expectations. Then again we should have seen this coming. None of the original ME devs are still on the team. The entire team that developed ME:A are people who came on als devs during ME2 or later. Hell, a lot of ME:A devs are completely new to the team and never worked on a ME game before. Your absolute blind fanboyism and white knighting is hilarious though. Sadly it's not going to make ME:A or its ratings any better. No need to throw out the Fanboyism and knighting. I don't appreciate those insults if I missed your point (which you didn't make it that clear TBH). You seem really angry and seem to have had high expectations which I advise to not have in the future. You said that they don't live up the quality and conventions? Such as? Very happy. Haven't preordered for nearly 2 years but broke it with this game. I never bought ME3 because I was furious with the Prothean DLC but I'm so happy I preordered this. It's a better version of ME1 with new characters and universe. Really happy. Can I ask your opinion on why you did? Just curious. Is it because you wanted the Protheans to stay extinct etc I felt that as a long time consumer of Bioware games and also being that the most mysterious race in the Mass Effect Galaxy was behind a pay wall was a massive slap in the face to fans. I also felt that it was a very cheap tactic to simply make far more $$ because of fans going for it.

This is where I scratch my head with arguments like these. Bioware stated how many times over how many years that IT'S a new series of the franchise. It's own game, story, characters and journey. People for some reason just cannot make that connection. This is a much better version of the first game for a new story, which met my expectations and clearly others as well that like this for the same reasons. I'm really enjoying this game and hoping to see more sequels, pity that others dislike it. Hopefully, over time it grows. YOUR argument makes me scratch my head. It's called Mass Effect, so people are going to compare it to other Mass Effect games, no matter what BioWare says. If BioWare didn't want ME:A to be compared to other ME games they shouldn't have called it Mass Effect. But no, BioWare named is Mass Effect precisely BECAUSE they hoped people would buy it based on the fact that it's a Mass Effect game. Mass Effect is a popular franchise after all. BioWare wanted to capitalize on the Mass Effect brand, expected that slapping the title 'Mass Effect' on it would score them easy money, and they failed miserably because they didn't deliver a game that lives up to what people expect from a Mass Effect game. No mate. Not at all. Bioware announced that they wanted to continue new story lines within the Mass Effect universe. Commander Shephard is PART of that universe. If you make a game called Mass Effect, gamers are going to compare it to other Mass Effect games. Andromeda wants to capitalise off the popularity and fanbase of the OT. It cannot do so without the expectations that will inevitably bring. You don't want that pressure? Make a new IP. Furthermore most comparisons in terms of combat and vehicles have actually been favourable, so there are benefits too. This is where I scratch my head with arguments like these. Bioware stated how many times over how many years that IT'S a new series of the franchise. It's own game, story, characters and journey. People for some reason just cannot make that connection. Hi Guys,
loving the game so far but when I want to change some of my graphic settings it doesn't allow it. The only settings that I can change is the overall from Low through to Ultra.
Can anyone help me fix this?

It is a very annoying feature that needs to be fixed. You cannot manual save. So you could have finished some dialogue and a few minutes later fight and die, which means you'll have to have that conversation all over again. It's funny how that reminds me of the 1st game for some reason lol There's apparently a kind of work around for the saving issue, at least based upon the little that I've read about it. It's one in one of the pinned threads in the General Discussions section: bsn.boards.net/thread/5530/psa-save-priority-missions-workaround Thanks friend Any chance you could also help me changing my settings in game? I can only change the overall settings and not specific ones?

Oh my god, OP, why do you have such a weak nerve? For fuck's sake, just play the game and see how you like it instead of having a meltdown over other's people opinions. We get it, you're terrified. You did countless threads about it already. Despite how excited you were. I do think these reviews are low for a ME game, regardless - 75 ain't a bad score, if it stays that way, even then, I think I will love this game. But I need to complete this shit first before pulling the trigger, and so far - it's a blast. So, hell fuckin' yes - try to control yourself. If you can't deal with the reviews, stay away from places that are talking about them. It's just that, reviews. You might disagree with them, or not. This game's fate lies with its sales, and it will probably do well, it's Mass Effect, unless there's another twist in this story, but that's something we have to wait and see. And meanwhile, I will be playing it, thankful for a new ME game when it wasn't needed in the bigger picture, but here it is. PREACH BROTHER!

I'm about 3 hours in and I just cannot understand why this game is getting hate. I really just don't. People saying the beginning is too long, takes too long to set up the story, facial animations bla bla, It's just exaggerated.I'm loving this, the facial animations seriously don't bother me and I hardly notice anyway. What I have noticed is how intense Insanity is, jesus christ. My biggest gripe with the game is Saving. I don't like what they've done with it but that's about it... same here about the animations, it is so minor to me that I just don't notice it at all. I haven't tried insanity yet, waiting for the full game of course but when the full game comes out I am going to start with Insanity from the get go. Also agree with you about the story etc I to don't see anything wrong with it Yep agreed it's such a minor thing. I wish it would improve, but its seriously nothing that would cause drastic drops in rating. Be prepared for Insanity, mostly because of the save game issue I'm having. It can be REALLY annoying and frustrating. Insanity so far doesn't have bullet sponge AI, they do lots of Damage quickly to you lol but it's not as if they take ages to destroy. The intelligence is also pretty decent as well which is great. This game could not have been any better in representing a NEW story. It's a much better version of ME1. And this is coming from someone that refused to buy ME3 because of the DLC Prothean deal. I'm happy with Bioware, so far, this is great.

That's actually a pretty major issue for me. Thanks for filling me in. It is a very annoying feature that needs to be fixed. You cannot manual save. So you could have finished some dialogue and a few minutes later fight and die, which means you'll have to have that conversation all over again. It's funny how that reminds me of the 1st game for some reason lol

Then games like FO4 and Skyrim have dreadful facial animations but get a pass? "Oh HAHAHA BETHESDA You've done it again with your buggy mess and horrible character facial animations / writings BUT HERE IS $100 10/10" Double standards. Makes me sick to my stomach. I understand that it's their perspective and the only thing I can understand is the CC issue which I totally understand. But other than that, it's ridiculous. It isn't a double standard. The game world is the main draw with Bethesda games, not the characters. The opposite is true with Bioware, with the characters that populate the game world and interaction with them being the main thing fans most look forward to. Since character interaction is Bioware's bread-and-butter, the quality of the facial animations is much more important than your typical Elder Scrolls game. No one buys an Elder Scrolls game for Bethesda's cardboard characters. It is a double standard. The draw to Bethesda games isn't just the open world - which again is so misleading because the content in these games is not great at all. Nothing happens in these worlds. The "Wide as an ocean and deep as a puddle" quote is the best way to sum it up. When you have worlds this big, players expect to have good characters. Hence why it's an RPG and not an open world simulator. Add that with It's horrific combat system and character customization and there you go. The major issues for both Skyrim and FO4 were its poor character customization (it got SO MUCH WORSE in FO4) and lack of world interaction with its characters. It IS a double standard.
