^ That's another good one! Shiver My Timbers (Adjusted to skip the opening credits and go straight to the music.)

Oh man, I was hoping to be the first to mention Calamity Jane, a movie I grew up with and know all the lines and songs to.. Same applies to Fame (the movie), and especially West Side Story . In addition to the lyrics, even learned the choreographies.. lol Also saw this as a kid many times - Bugsy Malone (1976) , the gangster musical where all actors/actresses are kids (in some scenes it feels slightly odd now, after growing up, and I'm sure this has also seen some controversy, but they do a great job in their roles anyway. It was the times. And honestly though, if today's wuss audiences can't handle it, they need to grow a quad.)(can be found in full on youtube btw..)

I am so pumped about American History right now! Hamilton is so good and I have seen 1776 a few times. My friends were lucky enough to see Hamilton 2 weeks before Lin-Manuel Miranda left the show, so that was great for them. I've heard rumors that there might be a 1776 film remake in the future, but I'm not sure how accurate those rumors are.

I'm always impressed by the detail that goes into the costumes and set designs as well. I've never seen it live but the dress change scene from Cinderella is rather impressive in my opinion.

I loathe musicals. All I see is false smiles, false characters, false stories. I just cannot suspend my disbelief with these. There is "Rocky Horror Show", though, that is so silly and absurd - it doesn't matter that it's all false.

When this movie came out my mother would drag my sister and I out every weekend to see this, sometimes 2 or 3 times a night. This is the movie I have seen the most in theaters, I'm guessing at least 20 times.
My mom loved Ted Neeley and this was her favorite scene. My mom passed away in 1991 and 3-4 years later the stage version came to town with both Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson (top vid) I was able to go and I met Ted after the show, he was a real nice guy...it surprised me he was a lot shorter than me..kinda tiny really, but I was able to talk to him about my mom and how much the movie meant to her. It was probably one of my favorite nights, ever. I still love this man's voice.

This thread murders my iPad every time I try to open it! So I haven't been able to read much but I still wanted to contribute.
I grew up loving musicals. My favs were Joseph ATATDC and Phantom.
I also love all Disney musicals of the 80's and 90's. Grew up knowing every word of every song by heart.
Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Ferngully, and Fievel being personal favs.

I'm obsessed with Hamilton right now. Don't know how many times I've listened to the soundtrack. It's the only thing keeping me going right now as it doesn't come to the UK for another year! I've been lucky enough to see Les Mis, Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera and Wicked. Les Miserables has always been my favourite. I remember watching the 10th anniversary concert on VHS over and over again as a child. It's one of those ones that never gets old for me. I only started getting into Phantom around the time the movie came out. I had listened to the soundtrack when I was younger but I never really understood it much just listening to it as a child. I got really excited about it after seeing the movie and went back and listened to all the original cast recordings again with a new appreciation. All I knew of Wicked to begin with was Defying Gravity, which I loved. I got tickets a couple of years ago to see it when it toured the UK and bought the soundtrack in advance to listen to it. I remember being a bit underwhelmed by the music at first, but after seeing it on stage I really grew to love it. It has a few really great songs. I also saw Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat when I was a kid, but can't remember much about it. Saw If/Then when I was in New York in 2014, which was decent enough but we really just went to see Idina Menzel!
