Negro please. This entire forum is a ghost town compared to what it used to be. I don't have to ring up anything anecdotal, much less point out how completely obtuse "I'm gonna buy it without even knowing if it sucks or not" is. The numbers slap your argument full in the mouth, sight unseen. I'll address this point by point. Negro please? I have no idea what that means you'll have to fill me in I am not young and hip. Your 1st sentence has absolutely zero to do with my post. My post was to do with people on here buying the game or not, nothing to do with what happens after the fact. After the DAIMP experience hoe many people (you included) waited for a month to by the next game? Despite every one and their dog saying the same things then as now. No one knows if a game is going to suck until you buy it or don't buy it and wait for a month to find out from others. Once again, how many people on here waited to find out if this game sucked or not? No game is sight unseen since you get a year and half of hype, demos, etc before hand. See you on day one of anthem! The fuck you will, and seeing as my gainful employment is making customer experiences fun and engaging, your logic is cartoonishly flawed.

Destiny with Exosuits, PROPER jetpacks and somewhat better visual style ..... hmm, let's see, what they are able to do out of it.

All I think when watching this trailer is: "So this is where Mass Effect's resources went." It's kind of hard for me not to resent this game.

Would be interesting to compare how long it takes Anthem to hit $30 vs ME:A. I bought ME:A at $40 and I was like no way in hell it will be cheaper than that until it's been out at least 1 year.... I can't remember what day ME:A released now though. bsn.boards.net/thread/11192/ps4-gamer-holding-out-time

Does that mean you can romance your robo suit and furniture in the game? in patch 1.08 your bar stool or refrigerator will become bi and your mech suit will get freckles... Sounds like either EA or Bioware had read too many books/watched too many movies like Maze Runner and Divergent and played too many games like the aforementioned and thought what could go wrong? What could go wrong? My guess would be a mashup between MEA release and Batman: Arkham City first release.

Extensively tested, Immaculately balanced, Living breathing world, The future of game development standard. GOAT is the question. Anthem is the answer. Seriously? When I saw this thread, I immediately thought this was gonna be posted: epic win, 10/10 pure covfefe.

I think it looked amazing on the Xbox One X and I hope it stays that way. I’ll be keeping my eye on this one. Looks like a splash of Destiny & Division with a touch of Evolve thrown in with the chance to be better than all 3 depending on story and how the final product turns out. For instance, something small like how the woman playing got a loop drop, I loved the animation for how it displayed on screen. I can only hope that things like that stay. I remember seeing some before & after of Division in a similar scenario to finding loot... it got downgraded.

Exactly my thoughts....this is the kind of graphics and gameplay that I was expecting for MEA, instead of the average game that we got There seems to be a HUGE difference between BW's main team and the one that developed MEA, and WE paid the price ANTHEM looks gorgeous , the movement and combat seem to be solid and looks like a next gen game BTW, I've put 4000 hours into Destiny and the idea of a third person shooter with loot done by the same team that brought us the original ME trilogy gives me a hard on .

Getting some major The Division gameplay reveal trailer flashbacks here, right down to "wow, that's pretty" moments and scripted voicecoms. I bought and was severely burned by that game, and was never interested in Destiny, so this so far doesn't really look like my kind of thing.
Also, BioWare related tweets never fail to amaze. One of the first ones I saw was "looks great, can I be gay?". Well, it's a multiplayer game, so you can be you. Roughly 10% of the population will be romance options, but they may not be into your blue hair and nose ring.

I love that Anthem seems to have actual class types. Destiny 2 looks to be leaning towards it now but with vanilla Destiny there really was no set class type which was a let down for me but I still enjoyed it. I'm hoping it holds up upon release.

Screw you guys, ill probably get it. It gives me an excuse to not buy Destiny 2.
I hate Destiny so much..but I also really really liked it. Playing it is like someone giving you free ice cream, but stabbing you in the arm with a pin every time you take a bite.

I guess I'd need a new rig to run that. I'm somewhat scraping the barrel with my current one running BF1 and MEA. It'd need decent gameplay, too - not just gunplay and soldier abilities.

Anthem looked spectacular to me. My game of show for sure, don't see anything topping it. It's easy to see that this is Bioware's A team. Obviously the game is a ways off, so who knows what it will look like at launch, but if it looks anything like it does now, that's day one for me.

The real idiocy of Anthem, beyond the fact that it's part of the reason ME:A was such a debacle, is that it's launching a year after Destiny 2. Though in a way maybe that's a good thing, provided a year is enough time for them to go back to the drawing board and either change everything so that it doesn't look like they're just blatantly ripping it off, or for them to say fuck it and crib even more aspects. It's just...I don't know man. It boggles my mind. This is such a big gamble for BioWare, and they're putting pretty much all of their eggs in this basket since Mass Effect and it seems Dragon Age as well have been shelved to make room for this. And it's such a departure for them. If I worked at BW Edmonton I'd be polishing my résumé . I feel like this comic is becoming more and more a certainty. static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/0/2610/2161667-zFrTB.jpg

I mean, I think their ideas are in there and they were interested in doing something a bit different, but I think EA saw it while they were thinking of the financial success of Destiny and the Division. So they told them: "We want you to make this to compete in this market" Which I actually think will turn out to be a positive because the only reason I can imagine EA going to Bioware for their Destiny competitor is that they want a competitive advantage in the area both Destiny and the Division were criticized for: story.

Anthem, the view of an RPG fan/indie dev, and why it will take a different path regarding Bioware’s games.
First of some disclosure: - This game will probably be a real good game, maybe even the best of the co-op action genre. Or the opposite. - I am only an indie developer, thus, I have no real understanding of AAA production - I have no true insight of Bioware/EAs inner workings, therefore, this is just speculation - Regardless of my opinion, I hope this game does well, firstly for those who worked for it, and secondly for the industry as a whole
Bioware announced Anthem, during e3. It looks amazing, sweet graphics, but, it is not what most of the RPG lover will love. Why am I saying this? The devs said you could go single-player and have an amazing story, Bioware style”.
Simple: as a game dev I know that regardless of size, your resources are always limited. Generating extra tools such as networking, adaptable world, cloud saving, and so forth, will drain resources from other more “single player oriented areas”. And unless EA is granting extra resources on the team, that money will have to come from within the project, making the overall single player experience less “awesome”.
Therefore, even though the devs said they are indeed including a Bioware style story, I am skeptical with the whole story. I believe the narrative will be good, but probably it will lack the player diligence, or maybe it will be far shorter than that which we are used to within Bioware games, something is going to be lacking.
Hopefully I’m just wrong, and this is indeed going to be an awesome RPG; but from the get go, I feel this won’t happen, remember that Anthem has already been catalogued as a Action RPG (the mass effect games are considered by Bioware RPGs). As Stated above, I sincerely wish the best to Bioware. Yes, this is a product which is not to my liking (up to the moment), but does not entitle me to rant/cry/wreak havoc, because is not catered to my desires.
Godspeed Bioware, and regardless of the future, the past games, were a blast.

The question is whether or not BioWare can pull what they did years ago with their RPG: take an established formula, make a neat setting, beef up the production value, and put out a quality product. The few shared world games that are out right now sort of leave a similar gap. Neither Destiny nor The Division were especially compelling in the narrative department, and other than Bungie's stellar combat, they weren't all that amazing in the game design department either. It's unfortunate for BioWare that ridiculous production value has become an industry standard across most genres, so there's not so much innovation to be had there, but Anthem's in a genre that's not peaked yet.
I, for one, prefer singleplayer experiences, and I've yet to see an MMO or Shared World game prove to me that those genres can provide an experience comparable to a well-paced singleplayer narrative. I'm inclined to think this is just a personal bias towards unique, solitary experiences, but I'm willing to be proved wrong. I'm waiting for someone to make this massive multiplayer stuff click. And Anthem could do that, assuming BioWare can indeed do what they did a decade or so ago.
What they've shown is visually impressive, and unlike others, I'm inclined to believe that, as a Frostbite game, Anthem is unlikely to get significantly downgraded. EA has had a surprisingly good track record with that. The world is clearly structured in a way that Andromeda should have been. Unlike all the Andromeda pre-release stuff, there seems to be a genuinely explorable world here with some degree of character to it. In fact, given how similar the control schemes seemed, I'm beginning to think it may have been better not to release Andromeda at all, and had Montreal work on a more bankable Star Wars project (or, God forbid, a unique IP), but that's besides the point. The standard loot, quests, and XP are uninspiring, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for some neat twists.
I've lost confidence in BioWare for their seemingly consistent downward trend, and they haven't really shown anything that would earn them the title: "Bob Dylan" of vidoegames. However, there seems to be potential here, and at the very least, a clean slate. The biggest red flag here is the same one we had with Andromeda: there's not been a clear and unique hook from the marketing quite yet, the thing that a lot of Sony's new IP do at their first showing. I don't even own a Playstation, but the first trailers for The Last of Us, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Death Stranding had incredibly strong atmospheric cues that made me care about them regardless. It's being presented a lot like The Division was, but without the element of surprise (or the benefit of not being released before the disappointment that was The Division), and we get it, the game has multiplayer and loot. No one cares. Give us a hook.

The fuck you will, and seeing as my gainful employment is making customer experiences fun and engaging, your logic is cartoonishly flawed. How do you make customer experiences fun and engaging? Please sell your secrets to germany Kromerican. A great place to start is not telling them what their politics, religion, or worldview is or should be. Not bleeding them dry via microtransactions and endless grind is also nice, or preying on any predilections to repetitive behavior for monetary gain. Also showing a world and its various situations and then letting the player navigate and 'solve' them without telling them how or why tends to create emergent gameplay on its own. Also not forcing them to log in every day to "COLLECT YOUR ANTHEM POINTS FOR PHAT GAMBLING DIVIDENDS" is probably preferable to avoid title fatigue and burnout.
