The graphics aren't even the thing. The design of the planet itself is impressive, as well as the fact that can swim, and the game had underwater locations. I'm not really into MP games, or persistent online games but Anthem doesn't look that bad. I'm sure my best friend will nag and beg me until I play this and Battlefront II (which had an outstanding gameplay trailer), but these type of games don't hold my attention long. I will give them extra kudos if we can actually fight/attack in the air.Like if we can wrestle flying creatures and/or fly into them withour suits What if you can fight something in the air, but it only happens about twice in the whole game, and it's a scripted QTE sequence?

Here's the fuckin' problem with gamers, hyperbole at its finest. I can't understand if it's for attention, or simply some internet empowering thing. Good Lord. Hyperbole aside, how many gamers buy CoD for the campaign?
I bought the last one on a sale for the campaign (precisely because the Sci-fi setting which annoyed so many of their fans made it more interesting for me), and despite the fact that I paid less for it, I don't feel like it was worth the money I paid, I liked the design and the graphics, but the story was just... Meh.
I play mostly the campaign, and BO3 aside, they're also mostly fun. Some people just think everything is either a masterpiece or a hot smoking garbage, there's no middle ground. Super idiotic.

Sure it was running in real time in the engine, but I'd bet you that it was running on a high end PC with a Xbox controller attached to it(I say this because it's standard practice for the industry, even for "console" demonstrations). Putting a Titan Xp or even 1080ti behind that thing is a hell of a lot more than what any console is going to have. We'll wait and see, but all I'm saying is that I don't see a lot of evidence to suggest that the visuals wont be downgraded for the final release. That's not to say that it wont look incredible, but probably not quite as good as what we just saw. It was also scripted. The little touches like the way the main character puts her hand on the suit as she walks past it- lol, that isn't being generated on the fly. Do they think we're just total idiots? Actually... if we assume that we'd be visiting places like this market in 1st person perspective, making so the character's hands are seen touching things and interacting with environment (like pulling the curtain) would actually be a cool little touch (heck, would be cool for 3rd person too if our character actively interacted with environment).

I am kindda starting to wonder, if BioWARE actually focuses heavily on the story revolving around your character, and the diverse happenings in the world, rather on that character's relationships with the crew, if it may actually result in an interesting solo experience. But imo it has to provide way, way more than 3 or 4 responses for that in the sidequests. Swimming and flying is all fine and good, but we gotta meet someone of interest in the world as well and do interesting stuff, not just shoot mobs and gather crafting materials.

I'm not saying I approve of this model and the money-gouging that comes from microtransactions in full-priced games, but there's a reason this model is popular, and it's because it brings in tons of money. A few things. I know this is considered "common knowledge" now but is there any actual research that shows this to be true? Does a medicore RPG with a well developed MP mode the sells 4 million copies (MEA) make more money than a great SP RPG that sells 15-20 million copies (Skyrim, TW3) and its accompanying DLC? I kinda doubt it. I do believe it might have a better Return on Investment since that MP cash costs very little in development comparatively. That's where the difference in philosophy comes in. Is the developer/publisher primarily interested in making money or making a great game? I'll go with the folks wanting to make a great game that happen to make lots of money on top of that just being their fringe benefit. Maybe not Andromeda, but a more successful one like Inquisition? If the MP remains alive for several years? Possible. And you can bet your ass that multiplayer games like Battlefield and Destiny make more money than RPGs, especially the most popular ones like League of Legends and WoW which make billions. And it's not entirely about the total money made (albeit that helps) but also about a steady influx of money. Microtransaction sales keep bringing in money at regular intervals, that makes for a nice, tidy cashflow. SP games and their DLC see spikes of sales at release, then at DLC launches, then when they're on sale (which, again, you barely make money of). It's less predictable, more spiky, investors prefer a predictable cashflow in general. Microtransactions also never lose their value, your 3$ goes almost entirely in the pocket of the devs and publisher, whereas a game sale (or heaven forbid, physical copy) can be split between a good number of actors, especially if it's a third party launching on Steam or somesuch. And Skyrim is hardly in a different position anyway, since Bethesda is still milking the living piss out of that game 6 years (and counting) after its release and the Creation Club is a microtransaction storefront for all intents and purposes.

And now I wake up to this Writer of ME1, ME2 and KOTOR on Anthem. Why didn't we have the seasoned writer in MEA to ease us into a new galaxy for the ME series? I know, I know, there could be lots of reasons, maybe he wasn't available at the time or whatnot. I'm just so disappointed in Bioware for dropping the ball on us with MEA. I like MEA, but I don't love MEA.

They really shouldn't even have made ME:A on its own, not with Montreal helming. It should have just been ME:Anthem.

No. Bioware has a plan to release 1 game per year, with each game having 3 years of development. So 3 different IP's, cycling each year. well that promises quality content ... /s That's been their schedule since the EA aquisition and opening BW Austin and Montreal. It was all part of the alleged "EA Bearhug". Like Schlerf who left during Andromeda said. "EA are hands off in the creative process on a day to day basis, but I don't know about the studio level". So basically, it's EA's fault if BioWare has become a conveyor belt a la Ubisoft.

well, I can't say I don't approve of flying around in power armor blowing up bad guys... cause that actually sounds rather fun. if it still looks fun at release I may pick it up if I have the money. I've gotten my money's worth of just about every bioware game I've gotten, so it seems like a low risk bet to me.
and really haters, we have seen... what about 5 minutes of gameplay.
listen I know this hard to hear, but she just not into you anymore. there are plenty of fish in the sea.
if really would rather play *insert probably not actually all that different game* go play it and stop with the angry ex/stalker routine already, it's kinda sad.

Mass Effect>Anthem Dragon Age>Anthem KOTOR>Anthem N7 Armor>Javelin Spectre>Freelancer Warden>Freelancer If all you care about is graphics sure. And frankly, if I wanted a MP Shooter game like Destiny I would just go play Dest.... Actually I would go play Overwatch since Blizzard always makes flat out fantastic games that are polished like a gem on every level. Even if I was into MP Shooters I still don't think Anthem would excite me.

Balance/Mechanics, those things are ever changing. From the top down how integrated every aspect of the game is with every other, the UI, all the quality of life features and mechanics, the art, the music, the basic functions of the game (how smooth it is to move your character around in the world and how natural it feels to use abilities). Blizzard pays attention to every detail of their games no matter how small. That's why it takes them 10 years to release anything.

WOTLK - buggy. Cata - buggy. Then a little bit of WOD - buggy. I remember talking to my friend who got me into it because I was reporting bugs and he was telling me that many of them had been there from the beginning. Much complaining about bugs on the forums, as well as features not working as intended, etc. Very buggy on initial expansion releases as well.

Meh. I like DAI and MEA and I'm still playing both. I also like SWTOR playing PVE. If this game is equal to SWTOR PVE (which really isn't that high a bar), I'll probably get it. I hope it has a good story, but from first glance this game doesn't seem to be the type that would be stay heavy, so (assuming I get it), I'll go into it with that knowledge and expectation. Of course this is all just speculation and many things could change my mind before it comes out. Maybe this will be the game to get me to play with other people. The big difference is there is new content being added to SWTOR at least twice a year. Want my MEA DLC
