It's my opinion that DA:I and ME:A are single player MMO's. I think the last true rpg they worked on was Dragon Age: Awakening. Well, you got one thing right. It is your opinion. I'm confused as to what a single player "Massively Multiplayer Online" game would be. I think MEA is the most RPG (with things people normally associate with RPG like crafting, inventory management, choice, open world, etc) of all the Mass Effect games. Because it has grindy side-quests? I mean, I can kind of see the comparison, but all RPG's have those.

Well, everyone here seems to have more information than I have, saying "I have no interest in this type of game" and "It's Destiny meets Titanfall meets The Division". I didn't get any of that from the teaser. And I didn't think they had previously announced hardly anything about Anthem previously. I wish people had links to all of their prophetic information. I, for one, am excited. I think it looks cool, from the small teaser we got. I'll see how I feel tomorrow after the gameplay footage, but I've never not-liked a Bioware game, so I will probably enjoy this one, too. People already writing it off is...odd to me. I get if you just don't like the setting because you prefer fantasy to sci-fi, but besides that I don't think they showed enough to instantly say "I'm going to hate that game!" However I shouldn't pretend to know how other people feel I guess because I severely enjoyed MEA while some people seem to have had it actually ruin their lives. I wouldn't say I'm hating on it as I hope it's a successs for Bioware because after what's happened with MEA they probably need one to be fair. I'd prefer to wait and see what kind of game it is before I decide whether to get on the bandwagon for it. In the case of ME and DA they'll always have me on board as I love both series and they'er both well established. Despite the technical issues I have running it I do like MEA and can see myself doing many playthroughs eventually over time. But with regards to Anthem I'd prefer more info and I think most of us are just working on rumours that it could be an MMO type game whch tbh doesn't interest me. As I don't really do multiplayer games only SP Which for the most part Bioware's games are or at least have been until now.

You know, wow, I was just looking through the trailers for EA, and my God, they are all mp. every last one. lmfao. If it wasn't for BW, EA would have none of my money. Not one dime. On topic:...I don't really have anything else to say. Indeed if it wasn't for Biowaer and perhaps the studio that does FIFA they probably wouldn't have mine either

RPG focused is giving as much rp as possible. ME1 was much more of an RPG than ME2, ME2 was much more action focused. Both were still RPGs but one put more focus on it than the other, that is my point however I'm saying the newer games as a collective do so at a lesser extent than the older ones. The argument isn't is one an RPG or not, Andromeda is an RPG, but a watered down one. it really has nothing to do with role playing "how I want it" when I can count the instances and compare them to others. Andromeda puts no emphasis on classes and lets you be whatever you want, ME1 made you restricted to one and made that decision more meaningful, that's just one instance. ME1 had persuasion and intimidation checks where you HAD to have the points to get certain dialogue, Andromeda gives it away like candy, instance number two. I can then move into companion rivalry/friendship as well. Of course it's all about "how you want it" - you obviously favor class system above classless as well as persuasion/intimidation checks over systems in Andromeda (also - to get certain dialogue in Andromeda you have to keep picking certain options and make certain decisions). Truth of a matter is none of systems make the game "more RPGey". All of it is just personal tastes. It's not about how I want it, I never specifically said that's how an RPG appeals to me or that it's a preference, I won't play your game of "it doesn't meet my preference so it's not so" lol. A game has to have elements to be considered whatever genre it's intendted for. There is such things as a full born RPG, sub RPGs, light RPGs and games with only an element or two of it. so you're flat out wrong on the lack of certain systems not making something less of an RPG(why do you think people have referenced bioware slowly losing their RPG mojo?). What are they replacing these things with to make up for it to retain that role playing? You take away something and don't replace it you are removing that element, and these happen to be RPG elements, hence myself calling them watering it down. picking dialogue in order to use others isn't the same as meeting a check to use it. One requires you to put effort in achieving those numbers, the other simply requires you to memorize the order (ME2-3 R/P and then Andromedas own special ststem).

I honestly got absolutely nothing from that trailer to figure out if I will play it or not. I sort of hoped for a more complex setting with something a bit less of a monster-hunting theme and different aesthetics, like alchemy, Renaissance or what-not. I am worried that by the time it comes out the folks would have had their fill of the guys in mechanized suits.

I really liked the concept of Fallout 4 about getting in and out of the Power Armor units. That was a good move forward and it really helped in deciding when to use it because it burns through fusion cores. Of course, modding allow me to bypass that entirely and let me tell you, Fallout 4 needs mods.

Of course, modding allow me to bypass that entirely and let me tell you, Fallout 4 needs mods. I've never played a game with the mechanical construct you drive, so it will be new to me, but what concerns me more is that most people around here did play stuff like Destiny and Titanfall, so by the time we get the game a year or two from now, the majority will not be interested in another take on it. I'd rather they did something completely different, that we have not seen for a while. But then again, they started working on it a few years back, so maybe they could not have seen a bunch of similar concepts being realized. I've watched Assassin Creed movie a few days back, the movie itself I did not like, but the concept of hooking the protagonist up to a rig (as a researcher or a scoundrel who broke in) in a Time Travel Research Facility, and doing games in different time periods with a mix of supernatural would have been cooler to me than Mandalorians. But, maybe folks really like the superhero/supersoldier vibe, so who knows.

Andrew Wilson: "The design is stunning, gameplay mechanics are excellent and the action will be exhilarating. The game is built around a live service, and through our creative process, we've decided to add more to the disruptive new social designs for our players. To accommodate that, we are moving the launch date for this project into fiscal year '19." Sounds kinda like Destiny. I guess tomorrow will be the real reveal. Yeah no this game isn't for me. I don't do mulitplayers or MMO type games.

is that female shepard voice ? I feel uber compelled to say they shouldn't be throwing about the idea of 'choices' at this stage in the game. They've kind of lost most of their credibility on that front. Feels like the video should be far more nihilistic 'Do whatever the fuck you want. In the end, it only matters in your head canon'

So I was right.
They strip mined Mass Effect and shoved all the pieces into the new IP.
I expect it to be almost exactly the same as Inquisition and ME but improved.
They used Mass Effect as a prototype.

Was like pretty pictures of some things in a game. Meant to inspire me to consider opening my wallet down the line? Certainly didn't even inspire me to remember more than some bright colored armored suits and the word 'choices' which left me a bit triggered TBH.

Huh. Honestly expected a lot more. The "Bob Dylan" of video games. I know it's too early to tell, but first impressions, the setting, is lackluster at best...the frontier/monsters behind the wall. But not really surprising: their last pre-EA games( Origins/ME I) had better worlds/lore than everything they did afterwards combined.

Heh. My first thought when I saw this trailer was, "Hmmm, welp. Guess BioWare wants to be sued by Bethesda. Oh well."
I can't say that I'm not interested, because they didn't really show you anything. All that was was some intense music with a suit of power armor ripped straight from Fallout. Oh, and some woman saying shit in an inane matter of fact voice.
It's just meh. The game had really better hit it like three football fields away for me to like it. And not just in a lore sense, in a very technical sense, as well.

But not really surprising: their last pre-EA games( Origins/ME I) had better worlds/lore than everything they did afterwards combined. I don't even know what the Bob Dylan of video games would be. What strikes me funny is that the footage we got is literally nothing. Concept art maybe? And I have to ask myself the same thing I did when I saw E3 footage back around 2014 or 15 I think it was for MEA.... why bother? Granted, we know what mass effect was. But they showed up to show pictures of armor that you could color (customization was the big theme for them then) and a mako you could color. I know that yes it was ME and some fans really wanted some sort of information, but showing up to E3 just to show a few concept armors? Silly They insist on showing up at E3 and trying to create hype out of the thin air from a few pictures. It's insanity. Say what you want about Bethesda. I feel like I have far more respect for them that they didn't do a three year long hype train for fallout 4 and rather just showed up and dropped the mic. That was epic. Sure, the game was meh by my standards, but they didn't spend years getting people psyched for something that was meh. I really am now wishing more companies would do this.

Yah, I sat there stunned by I think Suvi stating that we needed ice, helium three to power our ships, and water.
wat?
EDIT : Also, I'll bet you that I know what it'll be. It'll be some shitty monster hunter game, whereby you take out monsters (like the one in the video), with slow ass combat. Which can make it more tactical, but replayable? Whew. That's gonna be the question. Otherwise, why would the woman say all that stuff about the wall, while showing you a great big picture of the wall?
Meh, I just have a baaaaaad feeling about this.
Imagine this with guns, and you've basically got it. Oh, and Power Armor which they completely didn't rip off from Bethesda.

Does this game release imply Bioware can now finally rename themselves EA Edmonton? Pretty much Bioware is done and Anthem is DOA. They let their fans down too much and now it will bite them in the ...... Reminds me of when Westwood Studios released their last C&C game and EA closed them down and moved C&C to EA Redwood Shores. Well Heres to CD Projekt Red and Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 4 to step up to the plate.

Uhhh, have you played a Fallout game before? If no, they have very very similar ways of getting into and out of power armor.
If yes, then why are you asking?
