The amount of skepticism is unreal and we're here in the unofficial forums. With that being said, I came up with this poll and its options just on what matters to as: will we spend the money or not. It's no longer of question of waiting it out by what has been posted.
Edit: No, I may buy it...

I think it's way to early before one should say if they'll be invested in it or not. It looks great, I like the concept, but can it actually live up to what destiny and the divisfailed at? If so it could arguably be one if the best games ever IF!! It can do what destiny failed to do.
The skepticism is expected, no one really asked for this kind of game from bioware, plus it takes away from the already established franchises (game looks much better than Andromeda and Andromeda looked pretty good too if I say so myself). You also have the fear if it being so online focused but that's why there's options when it comes to games, don't like online playing? Go play a single player game. It's funny seeing all the bitching over it being online, if this was mass effect or dragon age then I'd understand as their focus is single player playing, this ones the opposite and I hate to tell people this but multiplayer isn't all that bad, it's popular for a reason in a variety of ways, doesn't mean you have to like it or put up with it, I understand it can not be fun playing with randoms because *insert excuse* or when your internet cuts out and you can't play the game or you simply like to be by yourself, but again....options.
I imagine next E3 I should have a good indication on if I'll get it or not, it's not supposed to come out till 2019 so a lot can still change.

There hasn't been enough information for me to make a decision at this point. It's a multiplayer game, it seems more co-op than story. I don't care about pretty graphics. I still play Heroes 3 of might and magic, and it has shitty graphic.

As good as it looks gameplay wise, I don't care about multiplayer. I'm just not the target audience.

- Graphics is gorgeous.
- Hope that there is a great Single Player story. Dont flop another Titanfall 1.
- If this is Multi Player title like Destiny - there should be dedicated servers. If it is Peer to peer.. I'll pass. I hate P2P
- If this is like a Bethesda Open world, they will need to have mod
Finally, darn... If Bioware Edmonton was making ME:A... would it look like this? I mean ME:A could have looked like this no?
p/s: Taking bets on if there will be visual downgrades XD

I did think to myself of all the developers EA could have tasked with making this sort of game, they chose the studio best known for story driven RPG's.

Looks very intriguing. I was a fan of Destiny for a while but there are a lot of things that were done wrong with that game. Anthem seems to be doing those things right.
We'll have to wait and see.

I couldn't agree more. Imagine if MEA had received such handling. It might've been the definitive RPG, assuming pre-MEA levels of writing. As it is, all I can hope is that this game becomes a stable source of revenue, which they can use to go back to making RPGs. I'm not sure that we'll ever see a "proper" RPG out of BioWare again, once DA is finished. They seem to have lost the will, drive or skill. I'm not sure which. I enjoyed MEA, but it certainly wasn't nearly as good as it should've been. Now we begin to see where all of BioWare's focus was placed. Next to this, MEA seems even more of an afterthought. Edit: I just realized that I never really weighed in on the OP's question. I have no interest in any MP shooter, no matter how polished. I'm a grumpy, SP gaming-hermit who just wants to be left alone to play in peace. I play to get a break from people, rather than to join them.

I sure as hell couldn't blame them. The hate they receive from their "fans" is ridiculous, let alone the wider internet mob. I suspect that they're simply following the money, though. I can't really fault them for that, either, as much as I prefer SP RPGs.

The graphics are nice but I would never want that for ME or DA. They work for that kind of game, but for DA and ME, I like the fantasy, cartoon-like tones that have enough realism to relate, but also remind you they are fantasies. If they went for TW3-like graphics, it would work too. I liked the elves and dwarves in it, but not for a shooter-type game with that grungy war-like vibe.

Yep, I'm not going to be particularly interested unless it provides a decent story/character driven SP experience without 80 hours of grind-to-win. I'm sceptical, to say the least. Plus I still have TW2, TW3, New Vegas, FO4 and DE:HR waiting for me. I'm actually feeling a bit angry at how much Bioware and EA seem to have prioritised this over MEA. Doesn't seem like a great way to treat your loyal fans.

I wish there was just a "Maybe" answer to the poll. Just that. "Maybe".
Online grinders like Anthem aren't my bag of tea. For example, I played through the Destiny prologue on my nieces PS4 but once I was done with that I didn't touch it again. It's not that it was bad, it was fun and gorgeous, but that kind of game is just not my thing. I hope Anthem succeeds. I hope it finds an audience. I just have real doubts that I'll be one of them, though.

Edit: I just realized that I never really weighed in on the OP's question. I have no interest in any MP shooter, no matter how polished. I'm a grumpy, SP gaming-hermit who just wants to be left alone to play in peace. I play to get a break from people, rather than to join them. Absolutely. Zero interest unless there is a strong SP campaign. Not everyone wants to to be social all the time FFS. Many of us introverted and aneurotypical people are forced to be social all the damn time when we don't feel like it. For me MP is not entertaining but actually kind of stressful. and also kind of boring at the same time, because combat is only a part of the reason why I play games, combat without story is just a flat and lifeless gaming experience to me. even in ME, DA, TW (etc) it gets repetitive and boring after awhile, unless you fight a boss or have an especially challenging fight, but it's fine because it is a component of a larger narrative. and anyway I don't have the money for all that extra shit. I get why people like MP, but I am disappointed that my favorite RPG outfit -- who used to make games with some heart/soul -- is now pouring all their money and top people into a game like this.

Instead we got a well intentioned effort that never escaped development hell. I enjoyed MEA, but it isn't up to the standard I'd hoped. Seeing Anthem, finally, I now know that they could've blown away my hopes and expectations. It adds to my feelings of disappointment.

Its too early for me to say if Andromeda was a slick as they are portraying Anthem to be for there is still 15 or so more months of development time left. The thing is if the game is purely an action game I think I would still prefer what we got for Andromeda even though its presentation is flawed because it has the action-RPG trappings.
