I picked "Too early to know if I'll like this." If I do end up getting it, I would likely play a combination of solo and duo if it is balanced/scales for that.

I generally try out all a game has to offer, if I enjoy it enough to play enough of it. I think it's a bit silly to say you'll completely avoid an aspect of the game. At least give it a try, 'cause you might be pleasantly surprised. Or not, but at least you've given it a go.

I'll wait for Twitch streams and decide. If there is SP and gameplay / story / chars look good, I'd likely buy it.

I'm an SP by default. I don't have many friends that play games, and the ones that do don't play on the same consoles as me, nor do I like interacting with strangers.
So yeah, unless you feel like adding cross consoling on this game, no MP/co-op/whatever the hell you wanna call it for me thanks.

Only solo here. No compromise. If I want to play with other people, I do PnP roleplaying and only with people I know.

I was thinking about it for a bit longer, and I think I would settle on not buying the game unless my husband would play it with me and there is enough content for 2 people. I just can't see how it will be fun solo. Unless they do add AI mule companions.

IF (and that's a big if) the upcoming info and trailers appeal to me, I'd play it, and I'd play it solo.
I play all my games solo with the very tiny exception of the occasional (and very temporary) grouping on The Elder Scrolls Online. Emphasis on the temporary nature of the relationship. It's very hard to be a team player when you're a female sniper with a sailor's mouth.
I would play some games with a real-life friend if I had any gamer friends...

Probably half the missions are with 2+ player. Like Dead Space 3 and The old republic.

I picked only play solo, play MP with friends and too early to know.
I prefer playing SP, MP has never been my style. If Anthem absolutely requires MP with no option of going solo, I won't buy it. I might consider playing some of it a with a friend (there is only person I know that I would consider playing with) but we're not on the same platform so I don't know if it will be possible. Also, would we be able to play missions that require more than two players?
So I might pre-order but so far I don't know enough about the game to make that decision.

I picked both solo and multiplayer.
My main focus would be solo, but I'd like to try out the MP as well to see if I like it. I'll have to rely on the PUG experience, so we'll see how that goes haha.
I'm keeping an open mind though, as I used to absolutely hate MP, until I played ME3.

Single player only.
Only single player.
I play games specifically because there are no other people there. It's been over 12 years since I've even touched multiplayer, and that was probably me soloing in an MMO.

I'll try to play both but unfortunately I stopped playing Destiny around the time when I could enter a raid because I'm not comfortable with voice chatting with strangers when I play online and it pretty much requires it and I expect Anthem to play the same, so it probably means that unless I can overcome those insecurities and enjoy my time I'll have to quit.
I played a lot of strikes and the Crucible in Destiny but every time I tried to have voice chat during Strikes I just found myself getting uncomfortable and stressed because of all the coordination and there'd always be someone really bossy on the team telling me not to go somewhere or stop shooting and it just became a hassle.

If I play it will likely be only solo. I don't have many gaming pals, and those who are don't usually play the same games and are on different console...or are in a different timezone which makes it really difficult. I'm also really introverted and the thought of playing with complete strangers fills me with dread...

I got a tentative maybe from my husband, so changed my responces around to solo/mp and mp w friends/pugs. now, I am more interested in the game, and hoping for sort of like old SWTOR style when as a duo you had more options (ie heroics back when they were not solobale, if not FPs and Ops)

I watched the 'in game' 6 minute bit and right off the bat they say "you and your friends, and you start out with "one of your friends," and then later 2 others show up, so I'm betting it's going to be Co-Op or MP with maybe a shitty solo campaign thrown in just so they don't have to deal with all of the complaints.

Considering this game is going to be another Destiny or Division, I feel like players really miss out on all the great experiences playing solo. Destiny and the division were really dull experiences playing solo. I've been playing with a clan in destiny for 3 years now and it's the co op experience that makes it so great.
Hopefully they get the matchmaking and social areas right for the times you playing alone. Most missions shouldn't be easy enough to complete solo.

"Link" up with me and my group, and we'll nip those insecurities in the bud. Seriously, we've got a fun group and everyone is getting anthem

This is exactly why I will not be playing this game if I have to join groups to move forward in the story. What you describe is exactly what I imagine MP raiding would be like for me -- something like being the only kid in the soccer game in gym class who can't kick the ball straight -- and I'm already stressed thinking about it, so no thanks... :/ Sometimes it really sucks being shy/quiet/very independent.

(wishful thinking, but I guess I will hold out a tiny bit of hope until the the devs crush it...)

You can do the campaign in destiny and division solo but beating the campaign is really where the real game begins. There's no doubt that they cannot create an awesome, engaging story campaign for both single player and multiplayer, but it's where the end game content and weekly resets that come into question. Do they sacrifice some of the difficulty to allow single players to complete it or do they encourage more multiplayer to tackle tougher content that would normally be extremely difficult to alone

I play Destiny, and from my time in Destiny and The Division (which I did not finish) I would play solo, but it will probably be a better game experience playing co-op with friends.
Everything in Destiny 1 was better with friends - even daily patrols (otherwise known as grinding, of which there is a lot). Once you knew the pattern of the Strikes which require 3 guardians you can play with 2 strangers because the game matches you with other players to form a team. If you're lucky you can go through consecutive strikes with those two because your play styles mesh together well. Otherwise you leave the team and wait for another match to be made. The Nightfalls were hard weekly strikes and you had to be in a pre-made team to get the best out of those - but rng being rng meant you could work hard and get rubbish rewards!
It really depends on how Bioware handles the story mechanics as to how solo friendly they make Anthem. Too early to tell so waiting for more information.

I'd play both, and too soon to know.
I'm not against MP, I just don't lean that way and I need some pretty compelling stuff surrounding the MP to make me really like it. Could Anthem be the game to do that? Maybe, maybe not.
My SP would be focused on and MP would be with few friends (but maybe some), but mostly public. I know how to block players that ruin things.
On a 1-5 scale of excitement, I'm at a 2. I think future material could very well bring it to 3-4 but I have no clue if it will. Won't be a 5 already due to such MP focus, the iron suit idea, lack of roleplay, but even this is theoretically open to change.

I'll be playing Solo but mostly MP(friends and PUGs), honestly games like this always have certain points where you will need help. Only game that didn't was Destiny but it's campaign is a joke anyway
Surprised to see so many here opting for Solo though, seems to be the consensus that PuGs are toxic (most aren't btw) but if that the case why not just play with people here on BSN, seems like a simple solution to me
