So I play a legionaire, and attempted to move from the routine to whatever was next, maybe perilous difficulty. Anyways on routine I can pretty much solo the whole thing, granted it's super slow, but doable. Then I moved up a difficulty and didn't even come close to lasting long. Hit counterattack for the massive taunt and guard fill and by the time I looked back down all that guard was already gone. Granted, my legionaire is only level 14, I also crafted the T2 armor, granted it wasn't with the best materials but i was told it would come out the same way anyways.
Anyone got any advice for someone who literally just picked up the multiplayer part maybe 2 days ago?
I'm pretty sure my build is solid, I got what I needed to survive, so I have the invulnerability for 10 secs + 10% guard every time im hit, I have warcry, counterattack and shield wall as the abilities that I have slotted just to make sure the guard keeps coming in. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

For someone who just started a few days ago it is absolutely normal not being able to last long by oneself on Threatening (which is the difficulty one level above Routine). The best suggestion I could think of is to try playing in a team as much as possible...with T2 armor your lego should be fine in a proper team set-up, e.g. mages who can support you with barrier, rogues who dps while you taunt on the front line. Usually more people there are, more xp you can get from each game and potentially more money if you have all 3 classes to clear every treasure room. It shouldn't be too hard finding public games to join in routine/threatening. Once you find people you're comfortable playing with, don't hesitate to send them friend requests which will make life a lot easier than pugging all the time.

It took me over 40 minutes the first time I solo Routine with my Lego.. You said your crafted T2 armor, make sure you crafted the T2 purple armor. The first T2 you could craft is really blue and it is not that great. In fact it is worst than the blue armor you will found in treasure chest and store chest. After your craft the first blue one, the purple ones will open up for crafting. Go back to the crafting screen and you should see the name of your blue armor with a (color scheme) after it and those 3 are purple and you could just pick one of them to craft. You will need better weapon to kill faster. Defensive skills are great but eventually you will need to kill them when you are soloing. It seems like you only have defensive skills on and your 1-H weapon is not strong enough to finish the match just by basic attack. I would probably drop Counterstrike and take Shield Bash. And Upgrade War Cry.. it gives you a lot more armor so your guard last longer.

Yeah, my problem was without counterstrike I wasn't able to survive, so I may get rid of shield wall since it rarely gets used for a different ability, maybe shield bash, i personally like return strike, but I'm still playing around with things.
Anyways I did craft the blue armor, didn't get any purple armor do i have to craft all 3 blue armors for that to show up? Also, I haven't been able to find an upgrade for my weapon yet, although I did get a good bow lol, but doesn't help my sword and shield at all.

Counterstrike has a very long cooldown, have you tried livid+walking fortresss? You can alternate and generate guard with both with a quicker cooldown.

Here's how you do it. Keep opening chests until you get a good staff. Once you do that, switch to the arcane warrior and solo higher difficulties to grab better equips for your lego. This is basically how I did it in beta to get the hakkon weapons under 100hrs of playtime (although the drop rate was much higher, but you get the idea).

As others have said 'its a process' if you went from routine to perilous you will get whacked around, make sure you go from routine to threatening 1st of all.
Also shield bash is a staple for me on all shield warriors.

Also, I haven't been able to find an upgrade for my weapon yet, although I did get a good bow lol, but doesn't help my sword and shield at all. With the multiplayer armor, you have to craft a blue one without the () behind it first, and then the purple ones with (color scheme) will show up. There are also dropped blue ones with () but those stay blue. For Lego, you need to either craft the Legion Commander plate or the Inquisition Captain plate first. They are blue and they are junk. You just need to craft either one of them (same armor class but look different). After you craft it, the one with () after will show up in your armor craft screen. Those are purple with 184 Armor, same look different colors. Wear those. Once you have 184 armor, you will find threatening a whole lot easier. Suddenly something that hit you for 25 damage in your blue armor will only hit you for 1 damage in your purple armor. Counterstrike may get you full guard instantly but cool down is way too long. War Cry is your friend. You just need to use it when there are things around you. If you found that you still cannot keep guard, take up Livid with upgrade.. those 2 will sure keep you guarded. Keep playing you will find bitter axe very soon. Once you have that, it will be your weapon for a long long time.....

It wasn't for my play style... WF proc from Hakkon and Isatunoll was great. I used Payback Strike, Walking Fortress, Shield Bash, Lounge and Slash; all upgraded. WF proc was enough to generate guard, so I used WF skill only in emergencies. I played Legio that way till I got Cresent... Damage output was better than with Bitter Axe.

I think it was the unbowed proc from the hakkon generated the guard instead of WF proc. I don't think I could ever give up Shield Wall on the Lego.... purple xp!

Nope, if you upgrade WF skill, WF proc from Hakko and Isatunolln will generate guad, Unbowed is just a plus. Same goes with Fade Cloak on Scepter of Razikale. Never used Shield Wall on either Templar or Legio and generated enough xp for fast promotion... Purple xp is less than half of green xp anyways... Had 15 promotions yesterday...

I'm getting around 170 damage xp on NM, while support is around 70... On HB 350 damage xp... With every agent. You are doing something wrong... Probably because that SS was from 3v3's level 1 lego soloing perilous. The support xp is actually around 40% extra. When you do 170 damage xp alone, you will get 170 support xp + 70 damage xp float up if you block it once before killing it. I don't know why they swap the title.. I think it should be 170 damage xp + 70 support xp, but it always shows 170 support + 70 damage with the purple number higher. When I first started looking it, I thought OMG, I am getting 170 support xp! Then I realized that they just swap the damage and support xp...I am really getting 70 support xp. But 40% extra support xp is really nice for just having a shield block skill (free from level 1) equipped I think. I don't think I could block everything once.. too much work, but if I could block half of them.. that's like 20% extra xp. So it would be like every 5 matches, I get a free match worth of xp.

Did a NM solo to test the support xp with lego. The numbers below are all from killing zone 2 darkspawn archers If I block the arrows with shield wall before killing the archer, I got 59 damage xp + 150 support xp If I just simply kill the archer without any blocking, it's 157 damage xp Sometimes I got 157 damage xp + 52 support xp when I kill without blocking. Not sure the exact source of the support xp but it might be the taunting effect from counterstrike I don't think the titles of damage xp and support xp are simply swapped in the scenarios of blocking vs non-blocking, though the numbers are very close. My guess is you get less damage xp by blocking with shield wall......It could be tested with a lego and an assassin : lego only blocks without any attacking while assassin strikes the killing blow. They only need to kill one enemy like this then they can suicide to proceed to the xp summary screen...it would be clear whether the support xp from shield wall is actually high or just appears to be so...

It makes sense that you get more support xp when you block melee attack, because it stuns attacker, but due to WORKING AS INTENDED, game recognizes projectile blocking as melee blocking... That might be a case...

That might be a case... Found an interesting thread in DAIMP resource library Shield wall against bosses? where Luke mentioned: "In ideal circumstances it is used to block arrows and all attacks from lesser creatures. Against a boss you'll probably want to make sure you're blocking only the very strong attacks." So I guess it is indeed working as intended that blocking melee and ranged attacks can both yield more support xp...
