I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet but has no one noticed how much the players were able to traverse the environment?
You could say the initial jet flight was an on rails thing but the Colossus was doing a super jump and the Ranger was using some sort of speed boost.
If we actually had full on control of this I think that would give Anthem a leg up on Destiny with its double jump and Division with its simple fast travel.
I could see limitations of course with some sort of meter of how long you can use these abilities but I prefer seeing the players unable to attack while using any travel abilities with almost no limits except for the environment.
Thoughts?

Ever played Saint Rows IV?
Anthem doesn't look that different in term of mobility, except it's done via mecha instead of you being a Neo expy (in the Matrix) and the setting is a lush jungle/forest and not a metropolis.

I don't know if I agree that the initial jet flight was on rails, but I could be wrong. Seems like you would be able to fly around anywhere ideally.

Anthem will one up any destiny or division if it goes true open world. I still remember "see that mountain? You can go over there"-destiny but then you actually couldn't :/

I haven't played it but I know of its silliness. Prefer a more serious take on superpowered people.

All open world games have to details the environment past the world limits so the player isn't stuck looking at nothing once they reach it.

As long as they have in-universe justification for it beyond invisible walls, I'm okay with that.

Well of course, just don't tell your player base that you can actually go to a certain zone/area/location but then lie about it when you actually can't. there's various kinds of open worlds. You have open sandboxes like skyrim and GTA.Then you have more linear restricted ones (if that makes sense) like destiny that keep you more refined in the zones the story takes place in but with some minimal exploration if you stray off path.

There aren't various kinds of open world, there is various kind of gameplay that use open worlds (racing, RPG, adventure, builders, etc). In itself, open world is a game design concept that focus on free roaming nonlinear map design which allow to approach objectives how and when you want. If there is a loading screens between zones than it's technically not considered open world. That's why DAI is called a "pseudo open world" game. Going by your description of Destiny, that doesn't sound like an open world game to me.
