Can we have an E3 thread in here? Technically it is about other games. I just wanted to let it be known what a giant disappointment this year's E3 was. Was there anything new in there? Anything exciting? There wasn't a single new IP for me to get excited about. If there were new ones, they were MP stuff and IMO they looked super generic and uninspired like Skull & Bones or Anthem and that's actually the only two major ones I am aware of. The rest was all sequels, Add-Ons, remakes, DLC plans and console/mobile adaptations. Hell, even consoles themselves get remakes now. The games industry - after only about 40 years of existence - already goes the same way as the movie industry and can just produce sequel after sequel. But where is the creativity? Granted, at least the settings for some of those sequels like the new Far Cry or the new Assassins Creed sound rather original but still, they are all rather mired down in their franchises in the end. I really hope that all the publishers and studios just kept their real treasures for next year (which is actually a possibility as we know that Cyberpunk 2077 is coming up as well as that new Bethesda game). I really do hope so because this year did not catch my attention in the slightest. on the contrary, the self adulation and pretense with which publishers and devs present their uninspired products made me much less enthusiastic about gaming as a whole.

I felt bummed after seeing this years E3. More and more I feel like I’m laying a lot of hopes on poor Cyberpunk’s shoulders. I was excited to see Beyond Good & Evil 2 though. It was one of my first video games so I don’t know what going back to that world will be like.

I hear the first part was a great game but I always felt the world to be a bit too ... out there. But that's my problem, I agree, one of the better announcements over all. OneWomanArmy: Now, that is a rather monumental task. Best thing I found is this thread: www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1389220 Hope that helps to keep it all straight.

I was about to create a thread about E3 tomorrow, seems like I wont, lel.
Actually, for me it wasn't that bad. Simply because I expected literally nothing from this year's E3. Other years there was always one or two games I already heard of that would be shown at that E3, but this year I never heard of anything, only had empty expectations for a new ES game from Beth and the new cool RPG IP from Bioware. Anyways, I'm hyped for:
*AC: Origins. I know, I know guys... but the new setting is kind of appealing, plus I haven't touched an AC game since Black Flag (And I never finished that one). *The new WW2 COD (technically not announced at E3, but still). I know, I know, RIGHT? don't crucify me. But honestly it was ages since I wanted COD to return to World War instead of doing futuristic bullshit, and is not like we currently have heaps of WW2 shooters with some campaign story behind. Maybe it ends up being crap, but I for the first time ever since MW2 have hope for a COD game. *Battlefront 2. Since I haven't played any BF games of late (and thankfully haven't played Battlefield 1, because I didn't hear anything good from that game) and Battlefront 2 is gonna have all the meaningful content for free, plus having much more content that the first one (like clone wars and shit), I am definitely interested in this one. *Wolfenstein 2. Absolutely, New order was great although I didn't play the DLC. It was fun like the new Doom, but with an actual story behind. How could I forgot! NEW METRO 100% hyped for this one. It's consolation prize for probably never again seeing a STALKER game, still I love Metro.
All in all not that bad for me. I am disappointed AF for not having any word on Elder Scrolls (wait, we did. Pete Hines said they're not even working on it ... way to go). But that's how things are.
And no, I am not hyped for Anthem. I have the same amount of interest as I have for Destiny 2 coming to PC. That is, none at all.

Don't want to rain on your parade, but I saw CoD WW2 gameplay and they just put red dot sights on MG42s.
New Wolfenstein looks interesting though, and while I won't be getting it, that's a movie to watch.
Of course, there's Life is Strange. I guess I'll be getting that after all.

Oh, btw I forgot to mention just for the sake of it... There was a PC exclusive conference again this year, but it was a shameful display. Not because of the conference itself (although apparently it kinda sucked) but because it wasn't even listed on any schedule. That's how lame its advertisement was. I wasn't even aware that we'd had another PC conference... so I completely missed it. Anyways past year was the first they did, and 50% of it was talking about hardware... what a joke, E3 is about the games not hardware...

I haven't followed E3 in years. Other than reading what the peeps on the Vroom forum had to say that is. I used to lurk in the E3 threads back on the Biower Forums for any relevant news but those days are gone now.

This seems relevant: He did an entire series of 6 videos on E3. But this video sums up his feelings. I didn't pay attention to E3 myself. Mostly because I don't trust the games industry, and have no interest in what they are saying. Put up or shut up, I say.

I personally thought this was the most entertaining E3 being how I'm an Xbox supporter and they seemed to have finally put up a decent conference for once. They didn't have any very interesting triple A titles, but I've found it tends to be the smaller third party devs that tend to make better games such as state of decay or sea of thieves. Plus being able to play the OG Xbox games will be awesome. Thought Sony was pretty weak and I care little for Ubisoft (although I hear they were probably the best this year) and Bethesda just spammed skyrim over and over.
I also feel very optimistic of Anthem, it won't be generic "if" it can succeed where destiny and the division failed at and it will be the first to win that market if it makes it work. I think because of its multiplayer focus or that it's targeted towards said Destiny audiences that it's viewed as "generic" because it isn't appealing to some, wrong way to look at it if you ask me. Still way to early to really even judge if it'll be good or not (hence my optimism regardless how intrigued i am) since it really hasn't shown enough, that demo was really just a "hey! This is a thing now" but it never really expanded on what it really is yet.

I'm mostly interested in the aftermath of E3. As in the Crowbcat video. Seriously, you guys should check out his youtube channel. His E3, Minecon and Game Awards videos are pure gold.
Apart from that I enjoyed the Nintendo conference. Gonna buy a Neon Blue/Red console tomorrow with Mario Kart 8 I think.
