I'm not confident in BioWare in being able to handle a online only "huge" open world.

Never had any interest in that franchise (played a tad bit of the first one, haven't touched the second)but I always see people reference how great those servers are.

id like to think server support "should" be good do to the kind of game it's supposed to be. Most of EAs devs do use dedicated at least (Dice specifically will even let players rent one out, and good god are they expensive).

lol, dedicated servers. They haven't done it for any of their games up until now, so I doubt it. But if they paln to support it for 10 years, then there might be an offshoot chance.

It has to be polished at launch. The hype window seems to get shorter and shorter. The amount of patience among gamers seems a whole lot less and frankly people are tired of blowing money on broken releases just to wait on patches. To me, EA has exhausted all of its goodwill Khama and this leaves all the pressure on the developers.

Now, see, this would be my take on it too (heck, it's even kinda why I still have an interest in ME:A, but am holding off on buying it).
However, when you've got an dedicated-online game, waiting "too long" to start playing it ends up limiting your experience, depending on how multiplayer-reliant it really is.

Heck, look at BW (granted, a different BW location but still) and their management of The Old Republic. There's some absolute ghost towns of content, which new players, or even new characters for old players, don't really have the option to finish anymore because it's too hard to put a team together for.

You need to cultivate a really amazing community (something I've only really seen in one online game ever) to maintain a quality multiplayer experience, and I'm not sure they're up to it.
