Looks like there's two games I want now. Bloodborne and Horizon. Might start saving to get a PS4 for the fall. I played Bloodborne about 4 months ago. Its the hardest game I've ever played. Good game though.

Good game though. Have you tried Nioh? So much fun and IMO, harder than BB even. Bloodborne I did power level quite a bit though....so that helped with the bosses from about BSB onwards. In Horizon news, so hyped for Wednesday, bring on Aloy Adventures!!

I went in with low expectations.
No need. The game blew me away.
It looks amazing, and it plays amazing.
Hunting feels great. I didn't know what I was doing at first and i was terrible at it. A little while later i was a master machine hunter. Emptying entire fields of mechanical life.
Didn't get very far because I spent so much time hunting and exploring. Almost called out from work today so that I could keep playing. Can't wait until I get back to the house lol.

The photo mode is insane. This is taken in game with no filter except the borders and title (all done from photo mode)

I just reached the revelation of Zero Dawn; lots of speculations in chat. I'm partially right in my theory. The story isn't bad; shocking moments. P.S. It's got some stupid FT hook though. For a game with such a huge world map, it's dumb.

I want this game, but i need to buy a PS4. Is it worth it? looks amazing! The game is gorgeous and a lot of fun to play IMO. The combat is challenging where it feels like every enemy robot is a Zelda Boss. You can pull off some insane moves but the enemies kick back just as hard taking you from full health to dead in seconds if you aren't careful. I will say that for those who aren't fans of the open world sandbox games, this game is very much that where it reuses other games' open world mechanics. However, those same mechanics work well in this case and what would seem repetitive to some, I have thoroughly enjoyed. HZD does the tower climbing, crafting, hunting, collecting, dungeons, outposts, traversing, upgrading, modding and gives it all a purpose. I actually enjoy the aspect of picking plants, shooting and looting wild animals, shooting and scrapping smaller robots because I out in the wild trying to survive and need to constantly craft ammunition, traps, potions, and buffs. Combine that with there always being this threat of something around the corner or near you wanting to take you out, and it makes for a fun, intense experience in a by far the best looking world every made in a game.

Speaking of GITS, Scarlett Johansson as Motoko Kusanagi? Really? REALLY? So I saw an article about Ghost in the Shell a few months back about her starring. I knew nothing about the franchise, but I was curious and watched the anime movie. Loved it, and I don't really watch Anime nor had an appeal to it. After seeing the previews, I honestly think ScarJo fits it pretty well (but I haven't been a long time fan so I don't share as much skepticism), and I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie. It looks about as bad ass as the Anime.

You don't take issue with asian American actors getting beaten out from roles that would they would be perfect for? You don't have to answer. It's whatever man.

I would look into resumes and auditions and see who is the most qualified for a lead role in a large action movie. I'd also consider marketing recognition to see who will attract numbers. The concept and adaption of the foreign culture and foreign anime themes is already slightly risky to attract Western Civilization audiences in large enough numbers to make the movie successful. Having someone like ScarJo is that Avatar effect the producers probably see as a means of bridging the gap and captivating the majority of consumers' interest. And no I don't care about race. Someone's ethnicity or even skin color has nothing to do with the quality of character on screen just like someone's pigmentation has nothing to do with the person at all. No one intelligent truly cares. That's my answer Edit: Another example is I want Idris Elba as the next James Bond and James Bond of the source material was never Black.

No one intelligent truly cares. That's my answer Edit: Another example is I want Idris Elba as the next James Bond and James Bond of the source material was never Black. Nonsense. What would a white woman be doing in Japan as a member of an anti terrorist government agency? Japan isn't multi ethnic like America. I've read the mangas and I've seen the films and there's hardly any non asians in them. The main characters name is Motoko Kusanagi ffs. How many white women are walking around with names rooted in Japanese folklore? Why cast an out of place white woman when there are plenty of available, talented Asian Americans who could do the role and not look so ridiculously out of place? Plenty of successful films have come out with little known actors in lead roles. I'll list a few: Star Wars Selma A Cure For Wellness It Follows Alien The need for star power is bullshit. Another thing, where are the Asian American stars? There are plenty of good Asian American actors so how come none of them are stars comparable to Scarlett Johansson or Zoe Saldana? I'll tell you why. Because they're always being brushed aside and hardly ever given the chance to head up a picture. So here comes Ghost In The Shell. A distinctly Asian product by the great Masamune Shirow. The producers of the film choose to have it take place in east Asia like in the source material and not somewhere else like New York City as if it was a western remake. Surely now Asian American actors would be given a chance to shine in a lead role right? WRONG! How much sense would it make for Samuel L. Jackson to play Gandalf? Not much right? Get that motherfucking ring to Mordor! Also, England is multi ethnic. A black double 0 agent isn't a stretch. I don't know about him being Bond though. I'm not into changing the race or gender of famous, well established characters. Usually.

I was just giving the argument for the reason why ScarJo is in it. It doesn't have to be right, but I was at least giving some claims to support it.

Ghost in the Shell is not an action movie, it's a cyberpunk thriller that heavily discusses human and sociological philosophy. In typical Hollywood it'll be scrutinized into another generic action flick. But at least it has Beat Takeshi in it.

No one intelligent truly cares. That's my answer Edit: Another example is I want Idris Elba as the next James Bond and James Bond of the source material was never Black. The problem I see here, however, is that the decision to cast Scarlett Johansson as a character with an obvious Japanese background is rooted in the old classic Hollywood white-washing that has been hacking around that industry for a long time like a bad rash. And it's especially evident when it's films centered on asian characters or stories. I don't believe for a second they couldn't have found a great actress, who fits the profile of the character. On the subject of James Bond, it's true that the character of James Bond is not really littered in his skin pigmentation, as that doesn't factor into anything regarding the character but it's a bit different here.
