Which makes episode 3 doubly odd for me.
Ugh, maybe I just wanted more teen romance for Chloe, a desire to see her happy.

But the way it paints Frank... I mean, he's portrayed as a hardcore criminal asshole in the original for at least a first few episodes. Then he becomes a soft enough guy.
And in BtS he's portrayed as a badass good guy who's in a nasty line of work, basically.
Probably wouldn't be dealing if Rachel was there?

I can't believe how many people lied to Rachel. The exact thing she was so upset about at the beginning of the episode. Telling Chloe she was the only one she could trust. Why would you betray that trust?
Besides, wether or not Rachel's dad should be forgiven or not is Rachel's choice. Absolutely nobody else has the right to make that choice for her.

So if Season 2 does have an all new cast, do you think the protagonist will have powers or not? Will they go back to time travel, or something different; telepathy, astral projection, channeling ghosts, alternate reality hopping, or some such? Could the primary antagonist have powers? Would they be drunk with power, or a desperate Knight Templar? Will the protagonist have a more or less set personality, or will we have more roleplaying options?

I can see both points; telling Rachel the truth would be the right thing to do, and Chloe generally prefers the truth, However, people legitimately RPing from Chloe's perspective might see her emotionally drained at that point, and desperate for any kind of happiness. Considering how much losing William devastated Chloe, she might not want to further damage Rachel's relationship with her own father, possibly permanently. You could argue not being honest about James is selfish and short sighted, but I think it is believably human.
The Secret Keepers could also be meta gaming, wanting Rachel to be as happy as possible before the end .

It's a choice that had me staring at the screen for a while, I admit. But ultimately I didn't think it would do any good for Rachel to know the truth. She sees the world in black and white, with no room for shades of gray. Remember her talk about the stars being "beautiful" or "dead" earlier? I don't think she could handle the idea that James is a loving father AND did a terrible thing. To her mind it has to be one or the other, even if both are true.

Am I the only one who told Rachel the truth? Truth-teller here, too. Just felt like that Chloe would never stand for lying to her, under any circumstance. Chloe is all bluntness and honesty.

Ahh, I liked episode 3 a lot. I see a lot of people have mixed feelings about it. But, I thought the symbolism and themes about lies and the past were really good, and the story threads all come together in the last episode. Maybe just because I'm a Cancer-Leo cusp and I also love stars like Rachel, haha... I thought the bedroom scene was really beautiful. It went so well together with the music. The ending is kind of bittersweet/sad, either way...but...I know this isn't a canon interpretation and that this is technically a prequel, but I almost prefer to think of it as an alternative timeline. Maybe one Chloe ends up in after the Bay ending, and maybe Rachel and Chole's future isn't written yet. Oh I was regretting picking the braclet when I realized I missed out on a kiss. But I liked what they did with it and how it came back up in the story. Yep, I think they will stick to some sort of power...that's kind of the gimmick of the series. But yeah, I think it will be something different, and the protagonist will represent some other "force of nature". There are lots of different possibilities they could go with, those are all good ones.

I just think she deserves to know. One of the things I don't like about BtS is that I feel like my choices doesn't really matter too much because it's just a prequel to know more about Rachel, and, since we already know that she's going to die, I think she deserves to know the truth. If I wouldn't have known that, I would probably have lied to her.

Ehh episode 3 didn't have the same impact as 1 or 2 but it wasn't bad. My choices and why I made it:
I took davids photo. I still feel Chloe hates the dude, but it's all to show she's trying to get along when it comes to also trying to make her mother happy. I can say if I were in the same situation that it'd be something I'd do. I still played rebellious as much as I could, but I'd also show some restraint when Chloe's mother was showing concern.
I agreed to look into finding sera rather than opposing it. I tried to keep it where it's a "it's your decision and I'll support it no matter what" kind of thing. Rachel clearly wanted to see her mother no matter what.
As for Eliot: good god dude how do you be so creepy? I knew he had feelings for Chloe but to act like he knows Rachel? Chloe got herself into the fight, Rachel helped her out. As for getting expelled? My Chloe took it into her own hands to let Rachel be in the play, furthermore Rachel would've taken the fall if Chloe didn't do anything. I agree with Chloe when she tells Eliot that he would need to be there to believe it, instead he's speaking from his feelings and making false assumptions. I was laughing when Chloe ditched him when the cops arrived.
As for the big decision: I told Rachel the truth. I get trying to protect her, but after seeing how pissed she got at mr. amber over his lie, I couldn't and wouldn't do the same, it also shows Chloe wouldn't be anymore trustworthy than me. Amber amber (how do you then tell this lie after she tells you you're the only person she can trust after this?). Not to mention I believe monsters need exposed even if it'll probably rip the victims heart hearing it. Let's also not forget mr. Amber lied to Rachel AGAIN upon Rachel finding out the first truth of her mother. I couldn't tell a lie knowing Rachel's father is a (still lieing SOB) jackass. It's a good series and has me intrigued by what the new life is strange will bring, it may have more feels to it as at least I won't know how it ends before playing it, I knew this would be before the storms issue but they did deliver for the most part on Chloe and Rachel's relationship Granted it depends on how you handled it between friend or lover. I had them lovers as an FYI as that was honestly the impression I had from season 1 of LiS. Chloe had this huge fascination with amber, hence why I never had max doing the same.

Quite a bit later than I thought it would. Been expecting it to drop in January, actually.
Wonder what's taking so long. Is it just that much longer, or were they held up by something?
My original understanding (back before Ep1 released) was that Farewell would release together with Hell is Empty.

I played Life is Strange for the first time. Liked it. Don't regret my ending of sacrificing Chloe. honestly, pretty much nailed the PT, have no regrets about anything? ya. I think I'm good with it all. Including my slightly creepy Warren Romance. I wouldn't have liked the Chloe romance at all, barely liked Chloe by the end. Max and I had such drastically different feelings about her best friend that a lot of her words were not anywhere close to what I would have said. Although I did get enough disapproval option dialogue that all of Chloe's "you're a downer" dialogue was very much warranted. I cried for the loss of Chloe because Max cried. And Max-- I actually disliked max at the start. But I liked who she was, who we'd sort of become together, by the end of it all, that I hurt because she hurt. Or, at least, empathized that she hurt. Holding yourself back as you let your best friend die when you know you can stop it showed so much strength in Max. I was and am proud. I watched the "Save Chloe" ending and found that creepy as fuck. With the sigh and the shrug and smile as they drove past the death and devastation. Off to San Fancisco! w00t I have no urge to get to know Rachel. But I'm glad I got talked into playing LiS after all.

you know, there was a moment in the Diner inside the Fractured Reality where I thought the same Chloe existed in all realities and knew everything, even the things Max had forgotten. That would have been more of a doozy than the birds.

I finally sat down and played Before the Storm last month. Overall I liked it, though it was kind of depressing to play through the story knowing how things would eventually turn out for Chloe, Rachel, and Nathan. Regardless of your choices and how things are at the end of Episode 3, any happiness they may have found is not going to last.
I was a little surprised at the romance option with Rachel - not that Chloe felt that way about her, which was hinted at in LiS, but since we know that at the very least, Rachel wasn't exclusive with Chloe by the time she disappeared, what exactly was going on with them at that point? I'm not sure I see them as the types that would break up but stay best friends afterwards.
The main drawback for me is that playing Max comes a little easier than playing Chloe, because I'm probably more like Max IRL (relatively quiet, not especially assertive or likely to initiate a confrontation) compared to Chloe's more rebellious, defiant personality.
Anyway, I guess Farewell comes out today? Is this going to take place before Max moved away from Arcadia Bay?
