Watching a playthrough on youtube of someone playing Inquisition for the first time, with no knowledge of the plot beyond the previous games and maybe some trailers.  He just got to the Hinterlands and is leveling up his companions and talking about who to keep in the party once new companions become available: {quoting from memory with probably some paraphrasing to fill in the gaps}

"I think I'll be getting rid of the mage guy.  Definitely will be keeping Cassandra, she seems integral to the overall story and a big part of it.  Varric too somewhat.  Solas just doesn't seem like that big a character or that important to the story."



I kinda want to just skip to the last video now and see if he's still saying that, lol

If he thinks that's how it works, he's never played DAO and DA2. And honestly, I fiercely hate youtubers who skip the first games of a franchise.
