I figured with Mankind Divided right around the corner, and also I'm currently replaying the original I figured we needed a thread. No discussion of Invisible War please...... Kidding. Haha. But seriously that game sucks.

Invisible War was kinda bad, what would be awesome though is if they remake the original and then make a new sequel to it.

I really ought to play through the original fully for once one of these days.
Though I recall being annoyed that the tranq gun didn't instantly put people to sleep but instead made them dance around like they have ants in their pants for 5 seconds first.

Best to pretend Invisible War never happened. Hopefully Mankind Divided is as good as Human Revolution was.

To be fair though, its probably more realistic. LOL.

Then he went running straight to his friend and messed the whole thing up.

Human Revolution was the first single-player game I ever passed on its hardest difficulty, with restrictions (non-lethal, never get spotted, save the pilot). I had such a hard time saving the pilot, I put the game down for about three months and then came back and passed it.
That was really a sign of how much I liked it, that I wanted it to be challenging and take a long time.

In my first run of the game, I didn't know she could even be saved, so my heart broke to see Jensen's true waifu die.

I think I only knew she could be saved because it was a parallel of the sequence with the protagonists brother in the first game. So Mr. Skelly and I followed the gamer logic and decided that saving Malik had to be a possibility. I actually only played through the game once.

I took many tries to save Malik, but there was no way I was going to let her die. One of my favourite NPCs in a non-BioWare game...

I might be a horrible person.

The saddest thing about Mankind Divided for me is that because of her optional status she won't be in the game. I'll probably make a Faridah Malik Ryder in MEA or something.

DE:HR drives me nuts. It outright refuses to give me "Pacifist" achievement for not killing anybody. I've tried at least three times but it's just not going to happen, apparently. I'll give it one more try before Mankind Divided release, but I'm expecting another failure.
Edit: Saving Malik was easy for me, even though I don't recall what exactly it entails. But I do remember tough moments and that isn't one of those.

Saving Malik on a pacifist no alert run makes her absence from MD even sadder for me.

IIrc be careful, tranquilizers could kill certain npcs, and there's a bug that if you move a body that's been tranquilized after a certain time period they'll just die. Watch out for explosions from mechs killing regular goons, like when if you choose to save Malik.

I've tried that, but non-lethal was much more fun. On the other hand, whenever I got trolled, by some complicated five man takedown or out of the line boss fight, I loaded save in town and proceeded to mass-murder everyone, including entire police station.

The dumb difference in gameplay between the normal game and the boss battles ticked me totally off in Human Revolution. Only did 1 playthrough and rage quit on the first boss in my second playthrough.
I heard they redone boss battles but charge money for that, so I'm just "GTFO!" for anything they try to sell me now.
