Human Revolution had the exact same problem, it was way too easy to incapacitate victims then for their absence not to be noticed. I liked how in Dishonored 2 handled it. I knocked out a guard who was typing at a desk and dragged him away. Then his colleague came out and said that someone should be on duty and raised the alarm. It didn't happen often but at least it was a little more immersive. I had hoped MD would have more stealth tactics. What I mean by "easier" is that you have more options. Nonlethal weapons in HR were extremely limited. Now you have augments that function like tasers or a PEPS gun, the ability to hack car alarms and such to distract guards, and so on. You can even upgrade the Typhoon to be nonlethal (sprays gas instead of ball bearings). True, but I agree with @tzeenchianapostrophe that it's way too easy to knock guys out and take them out with stealth. It should be harder than combat, yet somehow in the last 2 DE games it's the other way round.

Just going thru my second run, pacifist, ghost, foxiest yaddayaddayadda. Lord knows I have problems with Mankind Divided but I have to sing Golem's praises. I'm in there right now, sneaking around and trying not to be detected (whilst carrying around a lighted penguin) and I have big time Deus Ex vibes coming back. I don't feel that way in Prague at all but the Udulek complex is total DE immersion for me. I'm going to enjoy every second and try to explore it all, I'll be sad when it's over. Having played the game before I know it's downhill from there...just think what the game would have been if Squeenix didn't fuck the whole thing up.

I actually liked pretty much everything about MD ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There are two things I had problems with: 1) no hub areas besides Prague and Utulek, 2) the whole police brutality theme was so overblown it was almost cartoonish. They were pretty much just being evul for the evulz.
But other than that, I loved it. What was so wrong with it, exactly? Haven't played it in a while, maybe I'm missing something.

My only problem with it was it felt too short. I didn't even think so. I ghosted my first playthrough, so it actually took me a while to get through. Of course, the ending was very sudden but the gme's overall length wasn't that bad ai thought. I would have liked another hub area though too, I think it could have been done since Prague was divided into two pretty distinct parts as it was. Otherwise, the game was great IMO. It really is a shame we won't see a sequel any time soon (especially after that ending).

They were pretty much just being evul for the evulz. But other than that, I loved it. What was so wrong with it, exactly? Haven't played it in a while, maybe I'm missing something. I replayed HR just before MD and it highlighted the differences to me. HR had more levels that were beautifully constructed, whereas MD has Golem and that mining facility as the only highlights (for me personally). The rest is schlepping around Prague for hours and hours completing smaller filler content that doesn't hold a candle to the strong storyline in HR. If you decided to skip the small missions in HR you're not missing much, most of the game is core content, but if you decide to skip them in MD you've missed a huge part of the gameplay. It feels like so much filler to me. Prague gets boring pretty quickly, and Jensen seems to have even less personality than before. The squad, if you want to call it that, doesn't hold a candle to Pritchard, Sarif and Malik. They were my guys, they were all well written and full of personality, whereas Vega is cool but you hardly see her and everyone at TF29 is lame. It's also quite hard to swallow the whole aug thing, as the richest and most influencial people in society had them. Also all the soldiers...how exactly do they all suddenly fall to the bottom? On the positive side, I don't have to kill any bosses, some of the new augs are fun and elements of the story are good. I like it, but if they hadn't cut it in three and filled it up with filler it would have been so much better.

I like it, but if they hadn't cut it in three and filled it up with filler it would have been so much better. I personally think everything in MD was beautifully constructed. I loved the design of Prague. Vega was likable but i couldn't help but feel wary of her. Like she's being dishonest with Adam. Also, her hair was ridiculous. The pilot Changue or whatever was such an asshole. Like it seemed that he went out of his way to be an asshole. Always had to say some dumb shit. I wish there was an option for Adam to tell him to just shut up and drive. I do like that Changue spoke his mind and that he held an alternative view, but sometimes I just really didn't want to hear it. I liked some of the other characters too but you didn't interact with them all that much. Pritchard and Malik have them all beat though. Easily. Also, i completely agree with how much of a stretch it is for the elite to all of a sudden be at the bottom the world over. The world just doesn't work that way. Not even a fictional one.

It seems I'd need to buy the game again for this "director's cut".

Any thoughts on the new DLC? I hear that it's much better than the first.
