Hidy ho fellow introverts, and anyone else who decided to give this post a whirl! I just discovered a site, due to my mom pointing out to me, called "Succeed Socially". Simply put, its a site where someone put basic bullet points on how one goes about building a social life. As well as some basic how-to tips for sub sets of each bullet point. The site's URL is quite literally: www.succeedsocially.com/ . I haven't quite given it a through run through, but it looked promising, and I wanted to pass on any tools that might help my fellow introverts. Looking at you Ravenous Bear . Let me know what you all think! Do you like it? Do you think its a load of crap? Do you think I'm a load of crap for putting this topic here? Post your thoughts below!

IMO, having a social life is overrated. I prefer to be socially stunted.

Don't you mean people that score low on extroversion? Or those of us who are extrovertedly challenged? But in all seriousness, this is something I have struggled with. I have trouble holding an rl conversation unless I know someone rather well. And I've never had a girlfriend outside of high school. This website might help me to actually hold a conversation with someone. And, with time and practice, this could lead to other things. Friends, a girlfriend (or boyfriend if it works out that way), better relationships with my family, more job opportunities, ect. I'm not trying to turn into an extrovert, and I'm not trying to turn anyone else into an extrovert. But if your like me and struggle with these things, this website's tips and tricks might help you in ways you'd never expect. Or maybe you would expect them, who knows?

Hmm...is it a matter of familiarity or conversation topics? I have no problem holding my own if the conversation is about something where I can contribute, or that interests me. It's just where it's about nothing in particular, in socializing for its own sake where I fail, and that's at least in part because I find it utterly, mind-numbingly boring. I never found a reason to twist myself into something I'm not in that regard. You may want to if you want to create a business, but generally introverts make bad businessmen. They're much better as advisors. Also, relationships are overrated, but I guess you'll have to learn that on your own. It's certainly nothing I'd have accepted at 25 or younger, and you'll need to experience a few anyway. In any case, shared interests help in my experience, and that helps with conversations. So much for the words of an old cynic. Don't mind me.

There'a actually an interesting book I've been reading called 'Quiet' by Susan Cain. It's all about introversion. Anyway, in a business context the book claims that extroverted traits tend to be overvalued and according to studies the best results in a team setting actually came either from a team of extroverts led by an introvert or a team of introverts led by an extrovert (Something about the extrovert team leader pushing the introverts to achieve more and the introverted team leader honing the extrovert's energy to be more efficient)

I joke about using and dealing it since so many peeps talk about my avatar. For me personally it would probably make me jittery, more anxious, and irritable. I doubt it would make me more extraverted/social. Now I wonder how many people on here really think I am a coke head.

I believe I am an ambivert; however, were I to choose which I lean towards, it would be introversion. I might look through the site. I greatly value my alone time away from people, but I also do not mind going places, being around friends and or a loved one. Though, I will admit, my less than perfect social skills are less than... Well, I should face the facts: they are terrible. More times than not, I will say the wrong thing; I will either be to quiet, or awkward when I actually am talkative; and I am no good at holding conversations. But like I mentioned prior, I will look through the site.

You must find a way to go around making lots of noise and whoring for attention like a true extrovert, otherwise you are defunct.

Introversion does provide excellent anonymity and plausible deniability though. I mean, can you say for certain that certain criminal empires or countries aren't secretly being run from an introvert's bedroom? Why rule when you can have someone else as your public face, while you yourself remain completely beneath suspicion, so that even the "face" doesn't know you exist and are pulling the strings? An introverted "Illuminati" would never meet in the same dark room. Heck, they'd probably not even be aware of each other's existence because they'd neither want to make friends of have anyone aware of them. Actually come to think of it, a bunch of individual shadow-puppeteers attempting to manipulate various (or even the same) individuals, causing chaos in their wake due to their conflicting goals and ideas, would definitely explain why the world is in constant disarray. I shall dub this the Illumintroverti theory.

I always wondered how an introvert experiences cocaine. Do the effects turn you into an extravert or do you stay introverted even under influence? Wrong person to ask because I never had it before. I joke about using and dealing it since so many peeps talk about my avatar. For me personally it would probably make me jittery, more anxious, and irritable. I doubt it would make me more extraverted/social. Now I wonder how many people on here really think I am a coke head. People rarely get jittery, anxious or irritable from coke. Those effects are more common with XTC, MDMA or speed (if you overdose or get a bad trip). Coke makes most people feel outgoing, very confident and and very secure. Coke usually makes you feel like you're in total control of the situation, even when you're not. It makes me - an extravert - feel even more extroverted. Which is why I wondered if it would be the same for an introvert or not. DISCLAIMER: I'm not a cokehead, but I did use it a couple of times. I do not want to get in trouble with ProBoards, so I feel like this needs to be said; I do not endorse using coke. I recommend against it unless you are fully aware of what you're getting yourself into. Keep in mind that using coke is illegal in many countries and I obviously do not want to encourage people to do illegal stuff.
