Honestly, the idea that "no attractive females" would be a major consideration, as in buy or not buy, for a significant amount of men just doesn't make sense to me. It's too pathetic. Incels and redpillers sure but the only form of human contact they get is the simulated kind so that's understandable. You're argument is that all sexy content has no place in any type of media and is restricted to a private bedroom with a sex partner in real life. No sweety, that's only my perspective in your febrile, reductivist headspace.

Not practical, but it's what guys want. It's fun. Why the puritanism? Women don't want titillation in their fantasies? This is what I'm getting at. Maybe women need their own dev to satisfy their own needs without threatening to take away what men want. I generally hate when female characters dress like that if it's for no reason, it's annoying to me. I'm not saying female characters should never dress that way I don't mind if it makes sense for the characters. Someone like CatWoman or Poison Ivy wearing tight and revealing clothes is perfectly fine because it is a part of their characters. It wouldn't work for Cassandra or Cora because they are warriors who care very little about looking cute or sexy nor do they use their looks to trick straight men( and bi/gay women in Poison Ivy case) into giving them what they want or get them to let their guard down. Cassandra acting the way she do with her ass and breast hanging out would just be weird and who be in contradiction to her character. Cassandra is a tomboy and a harden warrior but has a soft spot for some things that are consider girlie like romantic novels and poetry.

I would love to see what he would think of her after she got hit by fireball wearing that "armor" (and I call it that with great reluctance). The only reason you liked realism in games is because it suits your politics. You don't have a problem with magical fireballs which make no sense and defy physics, but a sexualized piece of armor is a no no? Do you see how hypocritical that is? People play games to have fun. Games don't have to always make sense. Why don't you stop acting like a prude and draw some armor that you find sexually appealing on a male character and post it on twitter? It's okay for women to like sexy things too. LIFE IS SHORT, HAVE FUN. Because I don't find men sexually appealing? And because I don't find it visually appealing and never would dress like that myself. And even if I'm not that much of a revealing armor/clothing fan, you can still make it look appealing, interesting. Female armor in TERA could be example of that (even if it occasionally* goes a bit too far**) However the piece of "armor" in question is horribly executed hackjob and is in no way appealing. It has no vision, 0 redeeming value, it's just vanilla armor piece that had everything possible cut off for no other reason than to reveal some skin. Oh, and magic makes sense with internal logic of a fictional fantasy world. Armor like that does not (since you know, most of the armor in base game would be relatively functional minus boobplates) Now, if you take something like Leliana wears in Inquisition. It looks great, shows off her form pretty nicely and yet it shows 0 skin and protects her from blades and arrows. And it was mostly a joke anyway. I actually have nothing against you liking that, except that it doesn't usually fit the narrative and style of the world it's used in. Did I mention it looked ridiculous? *often *way too far

You raise some good points, but I think your intolerant tone hurts your argument. I've encountered similarly bombastic tirades from bigots on the Far Left in BSN. They never convince anyone. Their purpose is masturbatory. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is not for masturbatory purposes. Angelina Jolie as Grendal's mother is not for masturbatory purposes. The sexualized desire demon is not for masturbatory purposes. I love beautiful & sexy people, just like all normal people, that's what I like. I'm not interested in seeing people from walmart in a video game: I love how you forgot that no one wanted to see Gal play Wonder Woman at first myself included. I didn't care that Gal is sexy(because she is fucking SEXY)but everyone cried that she didn't look anything like Wonder Woman. She didn't have the look or good acting history to get anyone to care. ONLY after being the only good thing in Batman vs Superman did anyone start to care about her a little and WW is a good movie. Gal had to earn her praise it wasn't given to her because she is sexy. If looks is all that matters Megan Fox would be the top actress in Hollywood instead all she is known for is Michael Bay giving us ass shots of her in every movie they make.

I forgot about that about Gal. I do disagree about the overall quality of BvS especially the R rated version but you are correct that until people saw her in action s lot of hate was thrown around. Even the WW director at first didn't like the casting choice.

And that's a laughable stance to take. "The term political correctness (adjectivally: politically correct; commonly abbreviated to PC or P.C.) is used to describe the avoidance of language or actions that are seen as excluding, marginalizing, or insulting groups of people who are seen as disadvantaged or discriminated against, especially groups defined by sex or race." That's Bioware. It's not a bad thing to be PC - which I feel like you think it is, but I'm sure there are many players that would prefer Bioware to be a little bit PC. That's just the definition of "not being a cunt". I think only a douche would be 100% against PCness. It's purpose is to make hate socially unacceptable. A noble goal. But, of course, people being people, every positive movement gets hijacked by the extremists. And I think Bioware got a bit hijacked. A bit, not totally. I think John Cleese says it best: And Fry

Why is this thread still going anyway? What is actually being discussed? Do the men that post these threads actually think through what they are saying about themselves and other men? This stuff baffles me to be honest. Well I like "baffles" - I poked it into the dictionary and it returns stuff like "Prallblech", "Vorformboden", "Trennplatte". That sounds pretty constructive to me. verb (used with object), baffled, baffling. 1. to confuse, bewilder, or perplex: He was baffled by the technical language of the instructions. 2. to frustrate or confound; thwart by creating confusion or bewilderment. 3. to check or deflect the movement of (sound, light, fluids, etc.). 4. to equip with a baffle or baffles. 5. Obsolete. to cheat; trick.

So we're seriously arguing here that people buy games because of the hot women? What??? No, we're arguing people didn't buy enough of one game because the game before that was under-represented on the "hot women who want to make out with your character" front. ...I mean, maybe that was a factor for some people, but I really doubt it was the sole defining point between buy or not buy. As for PCness, my general theory is not to be a jerk. That goes both with not being a jerk to others and not pressing the issue if someone is being a jerk too far beyond "Hey, you're being a jerk". Unless it's actually a super-important, life and limb involving hill. But most hills are not the hill to die on.

On topic: I would argue that a balance needs to be struck between sexy characters (both men and women, mind you) and the type of individuals that appear on People of Walmart. If you ask me, I would say that sexy men and women should be a part of gaming because gaming is escapism at its very core. It's all fantasy. I see enough people that make me retch internally on a daily basis irl and I don't really want to experience that translating into my escapist media. Sure, not every character in every game needs to be a sexy chick in bikini "armor" or hunks in what amounts to a jockstrap and more normal looking people in normal looking attire should certainly be included, but said beautiful people should most definitely play a part. Lets just not go too far and turn gaming into a Walmart at 3 am simulator.
