Why are there no trees for straight dudes? The only straight female tree is ugly and looks like a man! All the rest are hermaphrodites. Why can't Bioware make conventionally sexy trees like in The Witcher 3 and Firewatch? Special snowflake SJW's at it again. I looked up Firewatch and was disappointed, sir. Shame on you! Now look at all this bouncy high-res vegetation: That's the stuff. See that tree in the foreground? I would totally climb into its foliage, if you know what I mean.

-(_ANTHEM_)-
Geurilla Games revealed that Horizon Zero Dawn sold appx. 3.4 million units and received good critics reception. A very stunning action RPG. Possibly a GOTY game.
This implies that aRPG games are far from dead. Let's hope Bio designed Anthem with this fact in mind.
(🌸=◡=)
Huh? Anthem is not like HZD in any way, shape or form, and the day BioWARE makes an SP title with a set protagonist and no choices will be the day I will stop playing games completely, because it will become obvious at that point that nobody will ever again produce the style of the games that I like the most, so what's the point. I'll watch TV. Bioware's first game was a mech shooter. (I.E. Set protagonist and no choices)

I have the Stanley Parable, so, simply put, I don't need to play other walking simulators. Though I could get SOMA. (Very philosophical game.)

First-person in hubs, 3rd person elsewhere. Thanks but not sure what you mean by in hubs If I remember correctly, the game is first person in town, where you talk to people to pick up missions and maybe see a merchant or two, and it switches to third person when you get into your Javelin and leave the fortified, civilized part of the world. So the action gameplay is all third person.

Crap...I hate first person...... I'm not the biggest fan, but sometimes it just works.
For example, resident evil 7. The switch to first person really was the change that the series needed. It makes the scenes a lot more scary and adds to suspense overall. It works as a gameplay mechanic, see? To pull the player in.
If anthem uses 1st person for actually pulling the player in, then I'm fine with it. If it's just a gimmick, well, then that's a lost opportunity.

Or Alien Isolation. I think the perspective worked well for the eeriness of being hunted.

What I really want to know is that is there multiple planets to go(like in Andromeda), or just one planet?

What I'd like from Anthem are relevant missions and not a gazillion fetch quests. More meat on the bones of the relationships, SWtOR friendships and romances were skeletal. I'd also like to play on my own. Strong writing, involved story line. Co-op be fine with this.

E3 presentation was pretty straightforward. You go to your hub->meet Quest giver(s)->When leaving other player (may) team up->Random Encounters on the way to quest, of different level-> Resources needed ( get the feeling micro transactions will really kick in here) for it->Arrive at location, kill enemies, acquire "legendary" loot-> Event: Join up with three other players on a "raid".
There wasn't anything here like player dialogue ( likely why they said they're not doing sci fi and getting into the background/setting), complex quest design, non combat interaction, etc...clear direction here is on action, loot/resources, dynamic encounters .

How many of Mass Effect’s trailers showed off the dialogue wheel? Not many. The purpose of that demonstration was to give us a basic introduction to the setting and gameplay, it shouldn’t be seen as anything more than that. 2. They only said that they wouldn’t get into the technical side of the explanations, which doesn’t mean what you said. Star Wars hardly offers any explanation for its tech, the focus is on action and characters. All they mean is that if Mass Effect was Star Trek, Anthem will be their Star Wars in this regard.

As for explanation behind the setting, was learning what' behind biotics really necessary in ME? No. But details like that go a long way to make it much more immersive/compelling.

Maybe it was different, but I try to keep two things in mind: the difference could be in part because this is the first time in a decade that Bioware has introduced a whole new property, and this advertisement was clearly tailored to get the interest of the Destiny crowd (meaning they wanted to show off what made it different from previous Bioware game, not the similarities). That may be the case, but I’m more interested that they flesh out the societies and give the world a rich history. I’m guessing they don’t want to explain how something like these Shaper Storms can happen, at least not in terms of the specific mechanics.

The games are different. Anthem is a co-op game that doesn't have NPC companions, it has online friends companions. The presentation did focus on those friends, to the point they didn't finish Praxley's quest received at the start of the game. Which is kinda funny, because neither MEA nor DAI gameplay presentation showed quest reception, only going through a part of them (and in DAI cases it was all removed from the final game anyway).

In non-combat zones, we see our character in third person, then get the first person view through our Javelin's HUD.

This would go for pretty good menu song: *obscure reference* Er, the point being? well Anthem could use a good anthem. And you've got to admit, no one does it better than communists. Imagine standing in the crowd, half the army on the left, another on the right, singing all-together with your fearless leader. BW fans could use this kind of camaraderie, what with all's been going lately.
