Anything you think is good, unique or interesting, I am fairly open to most things, prefer something with a good amount of customization options but feel free to throw anything out there.

If I go to the list of games I like (excluding Bioware games), it's not very unique, but I think they are very good games: 1. Starcraft series, all games 2. Red Alert 1 & 2 3. Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2 4. Diablo 1 & 2 & LoD 5. Unreal Tournament 99, 2004 and UT4 (still alpha stage but free to download and play) 6. Dune RTS games (Dune 2000, Emperor: Battle for Dune)
As for more unique games, there are the two MDK games, though the first one is very old, it has a certain magic in it that the second game doesn't quite capture. There is also Giants: Citizen Kabuto, old but unique first/third person shooter with massive islands to play around and loads of humor. Once upon a time I had a little game called The Incredible Machine 3, it is a tinkerer's heaven puzzle game and it is maybe a prime reason why I ended now doing engineering PhD.

Rimworld, a curious base builder with RPG elements and guns. AI story-tellers try to set up increasing obstacles and catastrophes for a handful of stranded space ship survivors.

Click the well-hidden link in my signature and find out. Are ships still on the table? I haven't played that for a while. Aye, they are. Though still in closed beta over the weekends. Full release trees seem nowhere in sight. Tanks and planes are in, though. We got Tier VI tanks for USSR, US, Germany and UK now, Tier V for Japanese, Italian tanks are confirmed (they have premium packs for those now) and they added a French tech tree literally two days ago for aircraft.

Apart from all the obvious AAA titles, I'd like to recommend Alpha Protocol for it's uniqueness. Yes, even then, there were better games n terms of controls and graphics but how many modern day spy thriller RPGs with a great story and really meaningful choice and concequence options do you know?
I recommend it to anyone who likes spy thriller, ranging from classic James Bond to Jason Bourne, who likes RPGs in the Mass Effect style (with the addition that you can be stealthy in this one) who can deal with a bit medicore graphics and controls and who enjoys replay value (if you haven't played this game 3 times at least, you haven't really seen it yet). Level design is also pretty good IMO.

Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2 I second this. Also,Mount and Blade:Warband(one of the few non Bioware franchises i've spent hours and hours on). Many customization options and many more mods(aka, play in Middle Earth or Westeros). Call of Cthulhu:Dark Corners Of The Earth was very recently picked up by GOG,and it seems they have fixed many of the issues that were present in the steam version.Pretty much the best Cthulhu themed game! In addition,in case you own a 3ds,Fantasy Life is excellent.A cute version of Skyrim pretty much.Amazing replay value and huge number of customization.

A new one is bound to be released I believe. Anyway, there's been quite an amount of hysteric, mad giggling while defending waves on waves of attackers on a castle wall with some OP long range melee weapon. That carnage, lol. Also: Really nice horse combat. I sunk countless hours into the Napoleonic mod/expansion with organised MP line battles (100 player battles, all neatly in lines with commands, charge and all*). I still remember all the server-wide gg's when our sergeant managed to line us up neatly so a cannonball could wipe all our company out. And we told 'im there was a battery to our left. *TS required

+1 to Alpha Protocol
Also:
Tales From the Borderlands. Borderlands as a point and click adventure game. Hi-larious!
Tyranny. Play as the villain. Or at least as a minion of the villain.
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. Steampunk fantasy rpg that completely deconstructs the whole "chosen one" trope.

I know Assassin’s Creed has earned some scorn over the years, but AC Origins is a very good game. If you like open world games, this one is excellent. The story is greatly enhanced by the “side quests”, so I’m not sure if it would fall flat with a less dedicated playthrough. I can’t give you a definitive, “finished it” pitch, since I’m still playing. I am dozens of hours into it, though. The experience is highly customizable and personal, between character builds (skills), differing weapons’ handling, individual playstyle and your unique approach to the challenges. I’m liking it far more than I’d ever have imagined.

I recommend Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and The Legend of Dragoon if you don't mind old game graphics.

Uniquely entertaining: XCom2 with LW2 mod. It's rare I find games that entertaining. XCom 1 was kinda meh, shitty pacing with the campaign, but in XCom it's just right. GOTY material.
Pleasant surprise: Like Xcom2 I wasn't eying Witcher 3 with a single look because the games before were crap. Picked it up at sale and it appeased me completely. Well done RPG. Got its flaws but worth it.
Hardcore sim: You like switches and stuff go "beep beep"? I do and go full master caution on my bombing runs with military aircraft in DCS. Warning: It can be heavy investment. The game comes free with two aircraft. On top you can purchase so-called modules consisting of new planes. I considered that was shitty ripoff with Microsoft Flight Sim, but the level of detail with these modules has me made rethink.

I’m liking it far more than I’d ever have imagined. Kind of want to try Origins as it does look like it could be kind of cool and the environments at least look really nice, however was kind of burnt out on the Assassin's Creed series after Black Flags (and the whole Ubisoft style open world in general) and I despise the randomized loot system you find in games like Diablo and Destiny which this game seems to have, besides I would rather not support games that have loot box systems.

Eh at least they have shown gameplay footage to let us know the game actually exists and to be fair they have been increasing their media presence showing off the game more and more at various conferences around the world suggesting that a release can't be too far off.
