Bethesda has gone from being my favourite game studio to one of my less favourite ones. I ignored the blatant lies from the Oblivion pre-launch videos. But I decided long ago not to cope with them any longer.
No wonder Todd Howard is in the "Trio of Liars" picture, along with Peter Molyneux and Sean Murray.

When did this patch come out? There remains some debate about that, with most people blaming one of the 1.6 circa patches, but the knowledgable-sounding modders seem to believe it was 1.5. Late-June early July there was a 1.5 patch that updated the way settlers work. I don't understand the details, but apparently they limited the number of scripts that settlers can handle, and various factors combine to drive any given save files number of settler scripts up. Over time, the effect will hit a critical mass, and all settlers will become broken. They can't be issued commands or work. PC users reported it right from the beginning of July, with Xbox one users joining in a few days later, and PS4 users a few days after that. The timing lined up to be about a week after each system received the update. The bug takes some time to "cook into" a player's saves, so a week seems about right for reports to start coming in. The confusion stemmed from the fact that by the time the bug was becoming prevalent enough to be widespread and well-known, the 1.6 circa patches had just gone out. As far as whether the issue can be avoided by not downloading patches, there was one PC community that claimed using a third-party software program for rolling back to a pre-1.5 version resolved the issue completely. I can't confirm anything first-hand myself.

I'm sick of stupid Steam forcing updates on you. There's a new patch for Fallout 4 right now that is downloading on my computer. I won't be able to play the game because my F4SE script loader for my mods will not be compatible with the recent update. Assholes.

In a way i agree with you that Bethesda sucks because how they treat their fans it's not really nice what they do. I have said that i find Skyrim the best game i have ever played and i'm sticking with that. But on the other hand it's also the worst game i have ever played. And that's mainly because of the bugs and frame rate drops and they do nothing about that. I'm unfortunate that i play Skyrim on playstation 3 so when i carry 15 MB's with me the frame rate drops starts. And when i carry 18 MB's with me i can only play for about 2 , 2.5 hours and then i have to restart the game and that really sucks. And then i do not even mention the bugs there are so many and even game breaking bugs. So in that way Bethesda sucks this is not the way you treat your fans and gamers.

Most AAA studios are shitting the bed. Indie games and middle market titles are on the rise and are blowing AAA outta the water left 'n' right.

Heh, Bethesda has its issues but Sony is to blame for no mods for the Skyrim Remaster/FO4 on the PS4.

Having no mods for Skyrim remastered or Fallout 4 on my PS4 won't bother me. That's of course the easy way out by saying that because you clearly don't have an Xbox. But i will definitely buy my remastered Skyrim on Xbox one and not on my playstation 4 so i can use the mods. Because i'll bet some of them are really good when i look at the Fallout 4 mods.

Have you actually tried playing these games with mods? The sheer difference is simply staggering. Never tried nor do I have a reason to try. If I played the game without mods on the ps3, I'm sure I'll be fine without them for the ps4

At this point I can't imagine playing Bethesda games without mods, considering that the average Bethesda base product is usually a very flawed experience. I feel bad for the PS3/360 console kids whom didn't have access for mods to skyrimjob. Even just having the unofficial patches that fix a lot of the endless bugs are a godsend.

You probably would be fine without even playing video games, that certainly isn't the point. A man that only eats bland foods his entire life can be "fine" despite the fact that he will never get to understand the sheer pleasure of tasting the richness and nuance of well made gourmet food. Is that what you say to others who don't mind playing the game without mods?

Is that what you say to others who don't mind playing the game without mods? Dude, you don't have to defend your choice, it is just a simple fact that your choice of platform is literally limiting your options in regards to available content, which at times can significantly improve gamplay experience. Go dude yourself. Its just a simple fact that I don't care about having mods.

People will definitely be missing out, without any mods. Some good ones will never make it to any console because they require SKSE (scripting tool), but still, the majority of mods don't need that. I expect all of the mods that can be installed on the fly will also be available on Xbox.. just not these others that require an addition add-on or extender.

I have never had sex. Nor do I want to. Other people say it is the bees knees, but they are not me. I am the master of my own domain.

Apart from the unofficial patches, the console crowd is missing out on the absolute best mod that contributes to the enjoyment of the game. The Serana waifu mod.

It'll be more stable (64 bit) and shinier this time, so nothing wrong with that. I liked the vanilla game. But you're still missing out

The mods make skyrim a whole lot better and add some interesting quests (when they work) I tried to be a lich but the quest bugged out on me. Got a sweet house from a mod. Better dragons, snow fall means you need to make a fire etc etc.
Then for fallout 4 I haven't done many mods but I've used one to correct the UI and subtitles.

Bethesda games are so overrated. Only community keeps them alive and in most cases playable with unofficial patches and mods.
