Grunt knows who he saved and he knows he can trust that player. I see, so what makes you two suspect me more than Seven? The way I see it, if you two can be trusted then the villain is Seven. Reed put Space in a tie breaker, but seven was the first one to vote for reed. Either way, the spies are trying to throw us off. If space is the spy, then seven voted for reed simply as a possible Conrad. Then reed voted for his accomplice...why? Maybe in hopes the tiebreaker would have an option that left them both safe? If seven is the spy, then the vote for reed was to throw us off...but I was also a possible Conrad at that point, and dadi thought I was guilty, so seven could easily have gone along with that and voted for me. The vote for Space makes more sense in this version, but that's about it. I'm thinking space is more likely to be the spy. What do you think about the above, dadithinkimgay ? I'm not sure what I can address here. Reed did what he did. Seven presumably wanted to throw us off. If I'm Reed's accomplice, would I not have simply switched to Reed, in order to provide cover for myself? I wasn't thinking he was a spy at the time, so didnt react. In fact, if I was, putting him in the lead would make me look quite innocent when he was voted off. So if I'm the villain why did I not do that? (ETA: Keep i mind, we were in a tie anyway, so its not like, as a spy, we'd be losing anything if I did that, as it was likely one of us would lose anyway.)
I'm not a spy. and Seven claimed to be hunting for Conrad, but she is the only one left who may indeed be Conrad, isn't she? If Conrad is even in the game this time.

"Shepard, I think we have them,"
The Illusive Man sat before Shepard once more, the vibrant sun behind him contrasting his lone dark silhouette. The man exhaled a billow of smoke deep within his frame. Shepard stood across from the hologram with crossed arms, awaiting for the man before her to continue.
"Horizon - one of our colonies within the Terminus Systems - just went silent," The Illusive Man said as he displayed a hologram of the colony itself.
"If it isn't under attack, it soon will be," The Illusive Man continued, "Has Mordin delivered the countermeasures for the seeker swarms?"
Shepard shook her head in response, "Not yet,"
"Let's hope he works well under pressure. There's something else you should know,"
Before he continued, The Illusive Man paused, took another drag from his cigarette, and exhaled, "One of your former crew, Kaidan Alenko - he's stationed on Horizon,"
Before Shepard responded, she took a brief moment of pause herself. The last time she saw Kaidan, he reluctantly left Shepard amidst the burning ship of the original Normandy. But it has been two years since then, and Shepard knew things have changed.
"We should send a message to the Citadel," Shepard finally said, "The Alliance could give us reinforcements,"
The Illusive Man however, had other ideas, as he shook his head, "Not until you investigate. I don't want the Alliance getting in our way,"
"Once you have the situation under control, I'll send the message personally,"
"Why is Kaidan out in the Terminus Systems?" Shepard asked, "Last I heard, he was with the Alliance,"
"Officially, it's an outreach program to improve Alliance relations with the colonies," The Illusive Man explained, "But they're up to something, and if they sent Alenko, it must be big. Perhaps you should take it up with him,"
With enough questions asked, Shepard was ready to move on, "Send the coordinates. We'll head straight there,"
The Illusive Man nodded, his cybernetic eyes glowing in a shroud of smoke and darkness, "This is the most warning we've ever had Shepard. Good luck,"
Once the exchange was over, Shepard did not intend to waste time. With her head raised, Shepard instructed Joker to set the course for Horizon.
As Shepard entered the lab, a lone seeker insect buzzed within a container as Mordin methodically observed. Shepard stared at the insect and she stood right next to the professor.
"Tell me you have something," Shepard said as the insect continued to fly about within his container.
Mordin slightly squinted his dark eyes, and finally smiled, "Yes,"
The doctor quickly got a hold of a nearby laptop to show Shepard the armor upgrades. As she saw Mordin's work, Shepard sighed in relief.
Meanwhile, the last spy hid amidst the shadows of the Normandy to plan her next move. As she discovered that they were soon arriving within Horizon, she smirked. With a little subterfuge and trickery, she could sneak within the shuttles and plan her next surprise attack. And with the mission getting the most attention, no one would even notice she was gone.

It was a typical day in Horizon. At least, that's what the colonists initially believed. As the sun was shining in the middle of the sky, Kaidan Alenko was talking to a colonist as he continued on his typical routine.
"Lilith, we have a problem," Kaidan said as the duo walked side by side.
"Still can't calibrate the targeting matrix?" Lilith responded.
"Those defense towers are useless if we don't figure it out,"
"Sorry, Commander," Lilith briskly replied, "Getting our comms systems back online takes priority,"
Kaidan stopped briefly to speak with Lilith eye to eye, and shook his head, "Yeah, okay. Surprised people haven't tried to blame that one on me too,"
"People out here don't trust the Alliance. It's nothing personal," Lilith shrugged.
But before Kaidan could respond, he felt an ominous breeze within the air. As he looked up, he saw an unrecognized large ship within the graying sky.
"What is that?" Lilith gasped. Kaidan narrowed his eyes and pulled out his assault rifle to get a closer look on the imposing ship.
Suddenly, blinding lightning erupted from the increasing large ship. Thunder started to crackle too, as the ship advanced. The storm was here.
"Get everyone to the safehouse," Kaidan quickly ordered. As Kaidan uttered those commands, and swarm of seekers quickly advanced towards the frightened and defenseless colonists. Without another second spared, the colonists ran as Kaidan started shooting at the swarm.
"I'll cover you, run!" Kaidan said as he continued shooting, "Hurry!"
Despite Kaidan's efforts however, the swarms quickly engulfed and paralyzed numerous colonists as they screamed in vain. As he saw Lilith on the ground, Kaidan quickly turned away to help her up. But as he was temporarily distracted, and nearby seeker insect quickly stung him in the neck. Kaidan let out a holler in response as he yanked the giant insect away from his neck. Before he could react further, he was thus paralyzed, along with the rest of the vulnerable colonists.
As the Collector ship landed, Harbinger, was within, ready to assume control when necessary. There was no one that will stop the objective. At least, that's what Harbinger believed.
"We are the harbinger of their perfection," Harbinger declared after assuming control of a Collector's body and inspecting the paralyzed colonists, "Prepare these humans for ascension,"

As Shepard finally landed on the planet, the colony was already eerily quiet and deserted. What was left of the once bright station was the imposing Collector ship and Collectors themselves. Paralyzed colonists were still around, reduced to frozen victims. As Shepard stared back at the ship, she couldn't help but feel a sense of deja vu.
Grunt and Garrus stood next to Shepard as she tried to communicate with Mordin, "We're groundside. Mordin, you sure those armor upgrades will protect us from the seek swarms?"
"Certainty impossible," Mordin chirped back, "But in limited numbers, should confuse detection,make us invisible to swarms. In theory,"
"In theory? That sounds promising," Garrus muttered.
"Experimental technology. Only test is contact with seeker swarms. Look forward to seeing if you survive!" Mordin said as he abruptly ended further contact.
Not long afterward, the Collectors swarmed right in front of Shepard's squad to make their presence known and engage in battle. Shepard and her squad quickly dove for cover and quickly made work of their barriers. As they were soon vulnerable, Grunt either knocked them down on the ground with his shotgun, or Garrus quickly sniped them from a comfortable distance.
As the battle was over, Shepard quickly marched forward just to discover a familiar sighting. Shepard narrowed her eyes for closer inspection.
"Those things look like the husks the geth used on Eden Prime," Shepard noted.
"I thought the geth got that technology from Sovereign..." Garrus trailed off.
"Which means the Collectors must work for the Reapers," Grunt finished.
As Shepard advanced towards a dead husk, she couldn't but wrinkle her nose in response.
"Sort of looks human," Grunt observed, "This one of the colonists?"
"No," Shepard shook her head, "On Eden Prime, victims were impaled on giant spikes to turn them into husks, but we haven't seen any,"
"The Collectors must have already had the husks," Garrus chimed in, "They want the colonists alive for something else,"
"The Collectors must be experimenting on the colonists," Shepard said, "What are they up to?"
"Guess we'll find out when we stop them," Grunt responded.
After a few moments, Shepard ordered her squad to continue ahead. Before long, more Collectors graced their presence along with Harbinger. Harbinger was definitely the talkative type, but Shepard paid the taunting voice no mind. She quickly sent out her drone to distract him as she laid waste to the rest of his group. After a couple of ammo rounds and concussive shots, Harbinger was the last figure, and the body he possessed soon joined the others as Shepard continued on.

A seemingly abandoned garage was soon in Shepard's sights as she continued her investigation from within the colony. As she entered the dark garage however, Shepard quickly heard faint movement.
"Company," Shepard noted as she quickly drew out her pistol, "Get out here. Now,"
A human mechanic soon emerged from the shadows to greet the trio with a shaky voice, "You're...you're human! What are you doing out here? You'll lead them right here!"
"I cleared a path! You're lucky you're not in the hold of a Collector ship right now," Shepard responded.
"Those things are Collectors?" The mechanic replied as he turned his back to the trio, "You mean...they're real?"
"I thought they were just made up. You know, propaganda to keep us in Alliance Space,"
"No!" The shocked mechanic continued, "They got Lilith. I saw her go down. Sten, too. They got damn near everybody!"
"I need to know what I'm up against. Tell me everything you remember," Shepard said to the startled man.
"We lost our comm signals a few hours ago," The mechanic began, "I came down to check on the main grid. Then I heard screaming,"
The shaken mechanic continued as he paced back and forth, "I looked outside and there was...swarms of bugs. Everyone they touched just froze. I sealed the doors,"
"Damn it, it's the Alliance's fault! They stationed that Commander Alenko here and built those defense towers. It made us a target!"
"Tell me more about the Alliance rep," Shepard said with piqued interest.
"Alenko? Heard he was some kind of hero or something," The mechanic recalled, "Didn't mean nothing to me though.Would've rather he just stayed back in Council Space,"
"Any idea what he was doing in Horizon?"
"Supposed to be helping us get the defense towers up and running. I got the feeling he was here for something else. Spying on us, maybe,"
"If you have defenses we can use them against the Collector ship," Shepard pointed out.
"You'd need to calibrate the targeting system first. It's never worked right," The mechanic shook his head.
"One of us should be able to figure it out," Garrus chimed in, "We just need a location,"
"Head for the main transmitter on the other side of the colony. Pretty hard to miss. The targeting controls are at the base,"
"You know this colony and the equipment. You better come with us," Shepard said as she motioned towards the exit.
"Not a chance in hell," The mechanic quickly responded. This didn't sit well with Shepard as she grimaced in response.
"You're just going to let the Collectors take your friends?" Shepard shook her head.
"I'm a mechanic! What am I supposed to do? Whack them with my wrench?"
"I'll let you out, but I'm locking the door behind you," The mechanic finished as he pulled out his omni-tool, "I'm not taking any chances. Good luck, I think you're going to need it,"

Shepard left without another word as the mechanic let her out of the garage. As soon as she was close to the starport of the colony, more Collectors greeted the trio with Harbinger in tow. As Shepard took them down, however, she noticed another figure advancing towards her. It was surely a product from the Collectors, as the hulking mass unleashed a powerful shockwave towards Shepard. The powerful attack instantly ripped Shepard's shields away as she duck for cover. She would need to eliminate this thing fast.
Garrus and Grunt quickly did damage to the Scion as it continued to advanced towards Shepard. Shepard also continued to shoot away, until the Scion was finally defeated. Shepard finally got to take a closer look at the elderitch horror and shook her head in disgust. The quicker she got the defense towers up to blast the Collectors to hell, the better.
Soon afterwards, Shepard finally made it within the starport to finally get the towers up. However, Shepard knew this feat was not going to be simple. And as soon as she advanced further into the starport, two Scions briskly made their presence known as two shockwaves were hurled towards the trio. Shepard quickly dove away as Grunt was hit. Groans from husks soon grew louder as a startling number of them advanced as well. Quickly recovering, Grunt soon made quick work of the mindless husks as he blew them away with his shotgun and charged forward. Garrus was nearby as he shot away with his assault rifle, offering concussive shots when needed.
Shepard however, was on the move as the Scions' attention were directly on her. As she continued to run, she quickly ordered a combat drone to distract one while shooting at another. Meanwhile, some husks were also following Shepard's trail.
Grunt and Garrus, however, eventually took care of their group of husks and quickly paid attention to the husks following Shepard. By then, one Scion finally fell as Shepard taunted the other. By the time the last Scion left his attention away from the drone, all the husks were gone. With half of their armor remaining, it didn't take the trio long to finish the Scion off.
Before Shepard could attempt to contact Joker however, another figure made her presence known.For there were no shadows for her to hide, her dark silhouette stood out loudly against the grey skies of Horizon. As she saw the familiar figure, Shepard couldn't help but raise her eyebrows. Just what in the hell was she doing here? Shouldn't she be back in the Normandy? Or did the last spy finally grew inpatient?
"Kasumi? What the hell are you doing here?" Shepard asked as her suspicions grew exponentially, "You here to try to finish what Zaeed couldn't do?"
"No hard feelings Shep," Kasumi shrugged as she pulled out her machine gun, motioning a group of Collectors by her side, "But the Collectors promised me something very valuable, and you were taking too long to die,"
"Don't worry though," Kasumi said, her cloak masking her dark eyes as she grinned, "This shouldn't take too long,"
As Kasumi cloaked herself, Shepard shot away at the Collectors and bided her time. Eventually Kasumi will make herself known again, and Shepard will be ready. Moments later, Kasumi unmasked herself
as she tried to strike Shepard, but Shepard caught her wrist and pushed her to the ground. Before Shepard could strike back Kasumi cloaked yet again, angering the Commander. The thief was as slippery as Grunt claimed awhile ago.
The group of Collectors were quickly defeated by Shepard's squad mates, leaving Kasumi alone. Kasumi was still invisible, but Shepard knew her movements and pattern by now. As soon as Kasumi unmasked yet again, Shepard was ready. In an instant, Shepard ordered Grunt to do what he did best, and he roared in response. Before Kasumi could react, she was soon down on the ground, with an enraged krogan on top of her. Grunt did not waste time and finished the spy off, knocking her out cold.

It took a brief moment for Shepard to gather her bearings. But when she did, she finally contacted Joker, "Normandy, do you copy?"
"Joker here. Signal's weak, Commander, but we got you,"
"Time to show these things we give as good as we get. Is EDI back online?"
"I'm here, Shepard," EDI answered.
"It's good to have you back," Shepard said, "Now bring the defense towers back online!"
"Errors in calibration software are easily rectified," EDI said, "But it will take time to bring the towers to full power,"
"I recommend a defensive posture. I will not be able to mask the increased generator output," EDI finished.
"The Collectors will try to stop it. Good," Grunt said as he reloaded his shotgun.
"Got any other helpful tips?" Shepard asked, turning her attention to the AI.
"Just one. Enemy reinforcements are closing in. I suggest you ready weapons,"
The first two waves arrived moments later. Husks, Collectors, and Harbinger were soon attacking the squad as they dove for cover. Two husks were soon nipping on Garrus' heels, but the young krogan instantly blasted a concussive shot, much to Garrus' relief. Shepard had her attention towards the Collectors, as her combat drone distracted Harbinger. As soon as they were down, more husks arrived. Soon they were chasing Shepard as she shot as she run. Her squad mates fired away as well until they too fell. By the time the final wave was over, Shepard's chest was heaving for air.
"EDI! We need that system online!" Shepard said, taking a quick moment of reprieve. This reprieve however, was short lived as Shepard soon noticed something new within the horizon.
"GARDIAN anti-ship batteries at 100%. I have control," EDI finally said. At this point, the unfamiliar flying enemy was within shooting distance from the trio.
Up above, the giant flying creature steadily advanced, their attention being towards Shepard, and only Shepard. Husks marched along the flying creature, overwhelming Shepard's squad. As the Praetorian advanced, it beamed bright blue lasers right at Shepard, stripping away her shields. Shepard grunted in response and ordered her drone to distract the creature as she took care of the rest of the enemies. Shepard and Grunt blasted the husks while they chased an overwhelmed Garrus. Eventually, Grunt grew impatient and charged ahead, tackling the remaining husks away from his turian partner. Shepard was right behind the krogan, both of them finishing the flailing husks off. As soon as the enemies were down, it was time to finish the Praetorian. Shepard simply continued to order her drone to bother the creature as the trio unloaded every round at the enemy. Before long, the Praetorian was defeated.
As soon as the Praetorian was reduced to blue dust, the defense towers finally blasted away at the Collector ship. The Collector ship had no response of it own, and thus quickly blasted away from the colony before it was reduced into pieces.
As Shepard gazed from above, the skies were still grey, but the ship was no more than a speck within the thunderous skies. As Shepard took another moment of rest, the mechanic soon made his entrance as he ran towards the vanishing ship.
"No!" The mechanic shouted, "Don't let them get away!"
Shepard's patience, however, was running thin, "That ship is huge. Exactly how are we supposed to catch it?"
The mechanic's body was hunched over as he caught his breath. Then, he started to frantically pace back and forth, "Half the colony's in there! They took Egan and Sam and, and Lilith! Do something!"
"I did my best," Shepard said, shaking her head, "You just hid in your damn bunker,"
"If it wasn't for Shepard, you'd all be on board that ship!" Garrus said with crossed arms.
"Shepard?" The mechanic said as he stopped dead in his tracks, facing the trio, "Wait, I know that name,"
"Sure, I remember you. You're some type of big Alliance her-"
A familiar voice, however, interrupted the mechanics thoughts. As Shepard heard the voice, a brief flashback entered her mind. A flashback of the original Normandy, within the medbay. Shepard just recovered from Eden Prime, and heard this voice calming her down. The calming voice belong to no other than her Lieutenant, as his soft face within the past entered her mind. Shepard blinked once more, and there stood Kaidan, his eyes different as his hair. Slightly weathered and clouded. Hardened.
"Commander Shepard. Captain of the Normandy. The first human Spectre. Savior of the Citadel," Kaidan spoke, his voice wistful.
"You're in the presence of a legend, Delan," Kaidan said towards the mechanic, "And a ghost,"
"All the good people we lost, and you get left behind. Figures," Delan scoffed.
"Screw this. I'm done with you Alliance types," Delan finished as he threw his hand in the air, leaving not soon afterwards.
With the mechanic gone, Kaidan slowly turned his attention towards Shepard. As Shepard saw his former squad mate's eyes, she could tell he was guarded. But the other Commander gave Shepard a sad smile anyway, and offered his hand.
Shepard met his hand with hers for a handshake, as Kaidan began to speak, "I thought you were dead, Commander. We all did,"
"It's been too long, Kaidan. How have you been?" Shepard said with an uneasy smile.
"That's all you have to say?" Kaidan said, his eyes hardening once more, "You show up after two years and just act like nothing happened?"
"I would have followed you anywhere, Commander," Kaidan said, staring directly at Shepard's eyes, "Thinking you were gone...it was like losing a limb,"
"Why didn't you try to contact me? Why didn't you let me know you were alive?"
"Not my choice," Shepard shook her head, "I spent the last two years in some kind of coma while Cerberus rebuilt me,"
With the mention of Cerberus, Kaidan's eyes were filled with shock as he took a step away from Shepard, "You're with Cerberus now?"
Kaidan then had his eyes on his former scarred crew mate, "Garrus, too? I can't believe the reports were right,"
"Reports?" Garrus said as he stared back at Kaidan, "You mean you already knew?"
"Alliance intel thought Cerberus might be behind the missing human colonies. They got a tip that this colony might be the next one to get hit," Kaidan responded.
"Anderson stonewalled me, but there were rumors that you weren't dead," Kaidan continued, "That you were working for the enemy,"
"Cerberus and I want the same thing: to save our colonies," Shepard replied as she raised her hand at Kaidan, "That doesn't mean I answer to them,"
Kaidan narrowed his eyes in response, however, as he stepped closer to Shepard, "Do you really believe that? Or is that just what Cerberus wants you to think?"
"I wanted to believe the rumors that you were alive, but I never expected anything like this,"
Kaidan shook his head in disbelief, "You've turned your back on everything we stood for,"
"This isn't about me working for Cerberus, Kaidan," Shepard said, her eyes never leaving Kaidan's, "Something far more important is at stake,"
Shepard took a step closer to Kaidan as she continued, "You saw it yourself. The Collectors are targeting human colonies. And they're working for the Reapers!"
"I want to believe you Shepard," Kaidan said, "But I don't trust Cerberus. They could be using a threat of a Reaper to manipulate you,"
"What if they're behind it? What if they're working with the Collectors?"
"Damn it, Kaidan!" Garrus interrupted in frustration, "You're so focused on Cerberus that you're ignoring the real threat!"
"You're letting how you feel about their history get in the way of the facts," Shepard said, her eyes heavy as she shook her head.
"Maybe you feel like you owe Cerberus because they brought you back. Maybe it's you," Kaidan said, his eyes looking away, "You've changed. But I still now where my loyalties lie. I'm an Alliance soldier. Always will be,"
"I've got to report back to the Citadel. They can decide if they believe your story or not," Kaidan finished, turning his back away.
"So long Kaidan," Shepard said, her voice barely audible. Kaidan turned to meet his eyes at his former Commander's once more, his stare a distinct contrast from years before.
"So long, Commander. Good luck,"
As Kaidan left without another word, Shepard sighed. Things were certainly different now. Far were the days of old, where the aged biotic told Shepard tales of his days of the biotic school he attended. The memories of Kaidan checking in on the Commander as she prepared for her next objective. The good days, where Kaidan, Tali, and herself went on for hours regarding which omni-tool was the best in Shepard's inventory. Gone were the days of Kaidan and Ashley fighting right by her side; where the older biotic trusted Shepard with his life. As Shepard was brought back to the present, all she could taste was bitter ash.
"Joker, send the shuttle to pick us up. I've had enough of this colony,"
