I did the same between dragon and gervaise (actually, I used a dice), because smiles makes no sense to vote, and I just hope, I don't vote out an ally. Both of you made good points during the game and perhaps, smiles is the spy and the only one remaining, but tehre is nothing to be done.
So the dice decided for dragontartare

"We've got four more to find and time is running out, Shepard."
"I know."
"And we've locked up half our team who weren't indoctrinated."
"I know."
*Stomp*
"What was that?"
*Stomp*
"Armature!" Jacob shouted. Shepard dove for cover and readied her assault rifle.
"What's a geth Armature doing on the Citadel?"
The giant geth rounded the corner of the hallway they were searching and stopped, making no move to attack.
"What's it—?"
"Shepard-Commander"
"What? Legion? Why are you in an Armature?"
"Our mobile platform is being repaired."
"Why?"
"It.. had a hole."
"Fine, About time you fixed that. How are you finding that one?"
"It.. does not handle well around corners."
"OK, We need you to stand down, you may be corrupted by the reapers."
"We are not slaves of the old machines."
"We can't know that."
"He's right, Shepard." EDI said, approaching from the other direction.
"EDI... We can't be sure you are not corrupted either."
"I am not, Shepard. I know better than to.."
"We have reached a consensus. "
Shepard looked at Legion. "Oh?"
"EDI is a slave of the old machine."
"Legion is lying Commander." EDI raised her rifle and aimed at Legion.
"OK, we need you both to stand down."
Suddenly both AI emitted strange sounds and stopped moving.
"That can't be good."
"Don't worry, Shep, we have your back." Kasumi came around the corner, followed by Tali.
"Well well, the final missing pair."
"Yes, Shepard, We took care of those evil AI for you." Tali added.
Kasumi punched more codes into her omnitool, causing a force field to appear around Shepard and all her other crew.
"What's going on? Kasumi, what have you done?"
Just then a familiar looking fellow with blond hair and a goatee entered.
"Conrad Verner? What are you doing here?"
"Getting revenge on you for shoving a pistol in my face years ago, Spectre."
"Verner! let me out of here!"
Just then, Conrad's eyes lit up, as did Tali and Kasumi's.
"I know you feel this Shepard." Tali said, in an oddly deep voice.
"This hurts you" Kasumi added.
"We have arrived, Shepard, prepare to meet your end." Verner said.
The light faded from their eyes.
"Damn it, fight it you two!" Shepard shouted as Kasumi fiddled with her omni tool.
Suddenly EDI started to dance. Legion soon followed.
Stick your left arm in.*stomp* Take your left arm out.*stomp* Stick your left arm in.And shake it all about.*stomp* Do the Hokey Pokey. That's what it's all about.
Verner turned and walked away, followed by Tali and Kasumi.
"Get back here!"
"Ta ta Shep!"
Stick your right arm in.*stomp* Take your right arm out.*stomp* Stick your right arm in.And shake it all about.*stomp* Do the Hokey Pokey. That's what it's all about.
"Kasumi! Tali!"
Stick your left leg in.*stomp* Take your left leg out.*stomp* Stick your left leg in.And shake it all about.*stomp* Do the Hokey Pokey. That's what it's all about.
Shepard could hear laughter as the indoctrinated crew members left.
"EDI snap out of it!"
Stick your right leg in.*stomp* Take your right leg out.*stomp* Stick your right leg in.And shake it all about.*stomp* Do the Hokey Pokey. That's what it's all about.
*Sighs*
Stick your left arm in.*stomp* Take your left arm out.*stomp* Stick your left arm in.And shake it all about.*stomp* Do the Hokey Pokey. That's what it's all about.
"Joker?"
Stick your right arm in.*stomp* Take your right arm out.*stomp*
"Joker!"
Stick your right arm in.And shake it all about.*stomp* Do the Hokey Pokey. That's what it's all about.
"Yes Commander?"
Stick your left leg in.*stomp* Take your left leg out.*stomp*
"Can you.. reset EDI or something? And get us out of this?"
Stick your left leg in.And shake it all about.*stomp*
"Right away, Commander!"
Do the Hokey Pokey. That's what it's all about. "Joker? What's taking so long?"
Stick your right leg in.*stomp*
"Just need a few more minutes of video, Commander."
Take your right leg out.*stomp*
"Joker!"
Stick your right leg in.
"Flight Lieutenant Moreau!"
And shake it all about.*stomp*
"Fiii-iine"
Do the Hokey Pokey. That's what it's all about.
EDI stopped dancing and shook her head. "Shepard? Where is the nearest volcano?"
"Probably a few close by, why?"
"Permission to throw Joker in?"
"Granted."
"Hey!"

"We've got four more to find and time is running out, Shepard." Four? Good narrative. It would have been hilarious if Conrad had intended to capture Shepard and add the real deal to his shrine. It's a shame that smilesja just followed the bandwagon here. Given how this round went, I'm honestly surprised he wasn't a spy. Now, a question for the spies. If you knew who Legion was all along, why didn't you take him out earlier? Just because smiles? And why didn't you indoctrinate me? I kept hoping that would happen so we could finally experience a turncoat in this game. I have to commend the spies somewhat, though I do think this game was unbalanced with the new rules. Here are proposed changes for consideration: 1. Liara is always good. 2. If Liara is eliminated at night, the results of her investigation will be conveyed in-universe via Glyph. In practice, this means the player would get to discuss their suspicions as they normally would while alive, but would just not get a vote. 3. Evil roles cannot target their own allies with their abilities, so that if a role "proves" themselves, the heroes know that the role is a genuine hero. This would necessitate special rules for the evil versions of certain roles. I think several people already said they didn't like this idea, but I'm suggesting it again anyway.

GO VILLAINS GO! BEST TEAM EVER! You guys did pretty well, but you have to admit that the rules very strongly biased things in your favor (just like the conventional rules did for the heroes). I suggest we make Di Di less useless. How about if she succeeds in voting off her target, she can vote whoever she wants for the rest of the game? Sure, that could work. It might be good if her investigative ability had the chance of actually giving her real information, though. Maybe if her target manages to gather two additional votes (or however many, not counting her), then the GM will tell her privately whether the target is a spy or not, so she can decide how strongly to convince others to believe her?

I like the idea of making her role less useless. We could try that. I told Fylimar Legion's identity separately, and they agreed she wouldn't tell them. Responsible adults and all. So they figured it out anyway after Smiles didn't vote, and Fylimar was waiting forever.

I kept hoping that would happen so we could finally experience a turncoat in this game. You kept rejecting my mischief too firmly and you were the biggest obstacle to the villain win. So much so that you made us think you were Kaidan who was bluffing in order to get a voting advantage. At first we just wanted to frame you and thought you were Miranda. But, once we figured OG is Mira, we thought you were Kaidan due to a strong anti-stance on villains who pretended EDI by dubbing fyli Kaidan. Had we taken you instead of OG, you would have had an extra vote as Kaidain, which would have made it 3 vs 2 in hero advantage without Smiles using an ability. It was safer risk to make a tie.

You guys did pretty well, but you have to admit that the rules very strongly biased things in your favor (just like the conventional rules did for the heroes). You haven't been on this side of the fence, but I assure you things were extremely difficult on our end. The crucial and most nerve wrecking round was the 2nd last one. Didn't think it would be possible to frame Garrus after he shot a villain. In regard with the villains having special abilities, there was almost no difference for Gerva's and Fyli's roles as in usual villains. Gerva and I had to figure out who the Legion was because Space said fyli can't tell us. Since Liara died, Gerva had no use of her ability. The only useful role was mine and I never got to use it either due to a ruined element of surprise because Tittus was given my exact role. I was surprised how bitterly the heroes complained about Tittus having to be hushed about my exact role - don't you think the person who got disadvantaged by it was the villain who didn't get to apply their special ability? I can't say I favoured that moment.

You kept rejecting my mischief too firmly and you were the biggest obstacle to the villain win. The cat-related mischief? I think I just ignored you more than rejected you we thought you were Kaidan due to a strong anti-stance on villains who pretended EDI by dubbing fyli Kaidan. Ah, you thought I was being duplicitous? No, like I explained when fylimar asked, I genuinely thought she was Kaidan because I skimmed her post and latched on to the "useless" bit. I like that I tricked you without even meaning to Still, you probably should have gotten rid of me if you saw me as an obstacle. Had I been Kaidan, I would have gotten a vote the next day round, but then would have been gone for subsequent rounds. By keeping me in the game, I got a vote that day anyway, and then still on subsequent days. I thought for sure you would have figured out my role by process of elimination and that I didn't need to hint. Did anyone realize I was EDI??

Did anyone realize I was EDI?? We wavered between EDI and Kaidan for you, but your stance was too fierce in hero favour that nobody thought you a turncoat. I guess you shouldn't have shot me with that water pistol. If you're EDI, you need to signal to the villains somehow that you want to join them, rather than shooting as soon as you see one.

You haven't been on this side of the fence, but I assure you things were extremely difficult on our end. Sure I have. I was a villain in one of the Skyhold games, and I've run two Citadel games and been privy to those spy conversations. It's harder to be a spy with the conventional rules because the spies are at a definite disadvantage, but with these rules, you need to realize that the heroes could trust no one for certain (not even Liara!), because anyone could be a villain pretending to be a hero. It was entirely possible for romice to have been evil Garrus and shot you just to keep herself hidden. The spies knew this wasn't true, but the heroes had absolutely no way to know that. And on top of that, after the mess of the first round of voting, it was difficult to even use voting patterns to choose spies. I'll probably go back to look now that we know who all the spies were and see if there was a pattern after all. In regard with the villains having special abilities, there was almost no difference for Gerva's and Fyli's roles as in usual villains. There were no differences this round. I'm saying that maybe there should be. I don't necessarily think we need to implement all of my suggestions into the rules, because that might re-unbalance the game again in favor of the heroes, but we should consider them.

I wanted you to have to figure it out, which I thought I gave enough info for, especially after I mistakenly thought fylimar was Kaidan and didn't object to the claim. If I had been Kaidan, thinking fylimar was claiming Kaidan instead would have had spy alarm bells going off in my head and I probably would have voted for her that round.

Too easy to take advantage of. People will pile votes on purpose to investigate every round. Even more powerful than Liara. Trust me, just because I was joking doesn't mean it was an easy win. It was VERY hard. The heroes don't need such powerful boosts. We have written 32 pages in spy chat trying to figure out how to trick you.

I rolled random on the villains. Honest. OI got Adonniel, thought, oh thats cool, she'd like that. Then rolled Gervaise. Wow that will be interesting. Then rolled Fylimar. I thought, wow, this is really stacked in favour of the spies. Three of the most persuasive players. Then another of the most persuasive, Dragon, could be turned. it also occurred to me they could be the first three investigated by Liara too, and look what happened. Also, I feel really bad for Moonae. I rolled Gervaise, which just by itself is scary, given how strongly he defends himself, then Tittus randomly voted Gervaise, and I had a panic moment, did I give him the wrong name? Then second round Moonae got Pela. And Tittus said he thought Pela was suspicious right before Moonae could make her vote.. so all around poor Moonae got bad luck/timing.

We have written 32 pages in spy chat trying to figure out how to trick you. Like I said, I've been a spy I've been repeating myself here, but the normal rules are stacked against the spies. These rules are stacked very highly against the heroes. Neither of those situations is good. The rules need tweaking. At the very least, I think my two ideas about Liara (guaranteed good, plus the Glyph thing) should be implemented and tested out for round 4. She would be the one and only trustworthy source of information for the heroes. Everyone should think about some additional roles we could try out, too.

Sure I have. I was a villain in one of the Skyhold games The set of rules was extremely different. Those were regular spies without special abilities and heroes knew for sure if the eliminated is evil or innocent. You don't have experience under this specific set of rules and it may seem like too much advantage. I heard you the first time, from a perspective of a regular spy, a spy with a special ability would have much more advantage and seem easier. I believe you're exaggerating how much easier because you don't have a spy experience specifically under new set of rules. But, overall, I think there should be less ambiguity in the narrative. 1) I'd declare immediately whether the voted off person is good or evil. 2) I would make Liara role both guaranteed in play and always good because the heroes need an invest. Maybe make Mira and Garrus guaranteed, but without loyalty as good or evil. I think there should be more floating roles in play as three guaranteed is too difficult to frame or get rid of (need 3 nights - seriously an entire game can be 3 nights long) it's too hard for the villains.

Those were regular spies without special abilities and heroes knew for sure if the eliminated is evil or innocent. Exactly...which makes it harder on the heroes, not harder on the villains. That's my point These rules are much easier for villains than the old rules are. Besides, Space saw everything that was going on, and even he thinks the rules need tweaking. I don't get why you're arguing with me here Maybe make Mira and Garrus guaranteed They already are.
