I think the Clone would work best with the new rules if they are totally neutral. That way they would not be given any information about either side but could be swayed to support either. Any unused ability would he acquired on assuming the role but if it was something that was dependent on whether they are a hero or villain as to how it works then they would have to declare for one side or the other when activating it with the GM. After that they will then be counted as supporting that side and cannot change.

I presume an evil Chakwas would be able to restore a villain in the same way as a good one could restore a hero.

As for Jack I was thinking that instead of directing votes towards someone, perhaps it could be a bit more like Cassandra. Once per game she can interrogate someone over night that she suspects of being Cereberus. If she is correct then they are automatically eliminated but if she is wrong then she is eliminated. That way neither heroes or villains know the identity of the person she incorrectly identified as being Cerberus. As for an evil Jack may be she has to correctly identify the role of a person or she is eliminated. That would give the spies a slight advantage over the heroes because presumably they would have discussed which role they thought the person was but they would only know they were wrong but not what the correct role is and would have lost a spy in order to acquire that information, which would lessen the benefit somewhat.

If Evil Chakwas isn't the first to die, then I figure she can probably  rez an accomplice.  I like this idea as well since this ability can help out both sides.
Jack being a jailer type role is a cool idea.  Also EC  being neutral party like the town fool does fit the role a lot better.
Eta: Oh, and Evil Jack sounds fair. That slight change will make the role a bit more balanced, since the spies can be wrong about the role of the target and can lose Evil Jack in the process. If the spies aren't aware of all roles in play this could be trickier. Which isn't a bad thing considering Good Jack.

Would the EC have the choice to stay neutral for the duration of the game?

I like the role ideas. Somebody (gervaise?) poke me when it's time to update the first post with new descriptions.

I think that might depend on which role they were trying to assume because of the difference in ability with some roles depending on whether they are good or evil. For example, Kasumi, Garrus, Miranda and Jack if we are going to include her. They would have to declare which side they wished to join to the GM because that would influence how they used their ability. Either that or the Clone understands from the beginning that if they are targeting a role that always starts the game good, like Liara, then they have to remain good after taking on the role and if they target a role that can be either then they have to keep the alignment of the person eliminated from the game. So if they assume the role of a good Jack they remain good and if an evil Jack they are evil.

Other roles with a more general ability could be left neutral. For example Chakwas can resurrect anyone they choose, Legion can direct the votes to whoever he prefers, Javik blocks everyone, Tali can save anyone, so you don't really have to declare for one side or the other as the ability operates in exactly the same way regardless.



Why not update the roles with the ideas we have put forward, adding in the new ones, and then we can amend them if they still don't look quite right. I think it is easier to decide when you see them altogether in one place.

Also, I combined the Oracle role idea with Emily Wong, so we can have a more useful/likable reporter.

Hmm, I'm still not completely sure. Maybe have Evil Garrus shoot whoever they want one more time. Odds are the next game won't be as confusing/unsure as the last game if Liara survives at least two rounds. If things wind up being as unsure for the Heroes as it was during the previous game, then make Evil Garrus only shoot the Heroes.

Shouldn't Diana be a bit more useful? Or we could just ditch her, now that we have the other reporter? Or make it, that she only has to convince the crowd in the first two rounds.

I agree that Jack should be a hero, given her hate for Cerberus.

What were the suggestions for Diana?
