It's funny as fuck, the most recent season was pretty disappointing though. I agree! I think I liked the first three seasons the best and then it kinda went a bit downhill, not that it was bad but just not as funny as the first three ones.

It was still funny in places but not as fun if that makes sense. I would say season 3 is my favourite. Also there was too much screen time focused on those fugly methhead chicks with the yellow teeth durinf last season. I almost stopped watching because of it grossed me the fuck out.

I Googled it and I don't like what I see so far. It just so happens that they're young. It just so happens that they're white. It just so happens that they're attractive. Just like everything else but with a time travel gimmick. Ugh. Ima YouTube it and see if I can warm up to it. Well, the characters all being young and attractive is kind of a given. It's the nature of tv and film after all. And the team's tactical officer, Carly, is black. Later in the season there is another character who is Asian. But the interesting thing is, these characters are just the hosts. Their minds have been overwritten by the actual Travelers moments before their deaths in the original timeline. We actually have no idea what the Travelers actually look like, save that Trevor, a 17 year old kid, have been taken over by a man who is by our reckoning, very very old (the context we get is that he has lived for well over a century in the dystopia Earth has become)

I watched the first season and liked it, I find the concept of travelers and what they do & the whole concept of the Director to be pretty unique. I’m currently in the middle of watching season 2. It’s pretty interesting so far how they are filling in more of the characters’ backstories. Marcy’s backstory in particular is pretty intense.

Watching Season 2, I'm getting a few impressions: The Faction is pretty bad, but the Director's not a whole lot better Creepy though it sounds: I'm kinda starting to ship Trevor and Grace. Even if their hosts are a high school student and his guidance councilor and: David is cool. Full stop.

So I finally saw a few episodes over the weekend.
I like it for the most part.
Don't understand why they make an effort to keep their hosts lives intact though. Like the druggie should kick the habit immediately. Don't drag it out. It's a liability ffs. The single mother should abandon the baby at a fire station somewhere. It's a liability. You can't save the world because you couldn't find a babysitter? Really? The teenage boy should drop out of school and dump his girlfriend. Whatever.

The teenage boy should drop out of school and dump his girlfriend. Whatever. It does make sense. Drastic shifts in personality and lifestyle draw attention, which is something you want to avoid at all costs if you want to remain hidden. It could even get so bad that the host gets institutionalized, because a loved one deems them mad. As for the druggie: Philip goes coldturkey, but then fucks up badly and is ordered by Marcy the medic to keep dosing. He has to drag it out, insta stop at his stage of addiction could infact kill him. Just my 3c.

They need to keep their lives intact to avoid messing with the past any more than absolutely necessary. Thus why they don't use future knowledge to become multi-zillionaires. The "grand plan" is extremely delicate Phillip does try to kick his heroin habit, but the withdrawal symptoms messes with his ability to function on missions. And as the team's historian, he is often needed. As noted, he tries to keep it under control with Marcy's help. Carly could, in theory walk out on Jeff. But she's developed an emotional connection with him (and she REALLY doesn't like the idea of him being in the sole custody of his abusive, alcoholic father). This is not unique to her, as other Travelers end up forming bonds with people from the 21st. Trevor...he stays in school, but makes a few adjustments to his life otherwise

I did not like Timeless, but I will take a look at this one... though after the Dark Matters & Killjoys, I am not sure I want to watch a Canadian production that does not explicitly ended with the "END" sort of.

Are the feds gonna get involved because some kid dropped out of school or some guy abandoned his family? Nope. Also, people can't be committed against their will. Not anymore anyway. I think it makes more sense for the druggie to go cold turkey than to keep shooting up because him being high could jeopardize their missions and he could get locked up for possession of illegal narcotics. He should simply be sidelined until he's over it. Can't depend on the slow girl for anything because she could have a seizure and die at any time. Also, they could have gone further back in time to possess key political leaders in order to have more power over the world and making altering certain events easier. Also, how many world ending events could possibly occur in such a short span of time in one small area of the world? Whatever. I still like the show and i'm curious to see what will happen next. Somebody should really off that abusive boyfriend though. I'm sick of his meddling.

Seems kinda silly. What's the point of keeping the lives intact of people that would have been dead anyway? Them being alive should alter events too and maybe not for the better. Emotional bonds? These people are supposed to be soldiers. Driven individuals with the fate of the world on their shoulders. Show some mental fortitude and drop the damn baby off somewhere.

The point is keeping them living quiet lives would alter the time line less. And any changes can be more easily predicted by the Director. And while they do have the fate of the world to deal with, they are not all soldiers. Some Travelers are very much focused on their missions as you describe. Others are not. The Director seems to allow a degree of flexibility for how the Travelers behave. As long as they can stick to the mission But don't worry, there are ways to deal with those who go too far off-mission

Yeah it'd draw attention but to what end? Are the feds gonna get involved because some kid dropped out of school or some guy abandoned his family? Nope. Also, people can't be committed against their will. Not anymore anyway. In this day and age, an age that fears terrorists abroad and at home? You can bet feds get involved sooner or later the more flags go up? And like I said, a drastic shift in personality and behaviour is a very red flag. Great, you ignored the fact that a hard stop could kill him. Long time users of drugs that are forced to go cold turkey are known to go into shock induced by hormonal imbalances in the brain. In rehab, addicts are supplied with a substitute that lessens the impact of the lack of heroine to avoid exactly that. And that substitute is highly regulated because it is no less addictive. As they had no access to it, they needed to use heroine in its stead. Coldturkey simply doesn´t work. And btw: Addicts tend to function way better when they are "poisoned" compared to when not. She´s a doctor and treats herself so she doesn´t have a seizure. And her death is not immediate either, so no problem there. Actually they can only go back as much as the very first traveller. Who and when that is, is explained in season 2. Same here. I can´t wait for season 3. Protocol 3.

Actually they can only go back as much as the very first traveller. Who and when that is, is explained in season 2. Worse, they can't go back further than the most recent Traveler sent. Thus why they can't go back and try over and over to change an event. There's actually an episode in Season 2 that focuses on that limitation.
