As Leliana says in a Lavellan war table mission, the Dalish respect deeds. Not words. Had it been anyone else, my Warden probably would've left him there to rot. But Sten was willing to die as a form of atonement and the Revered Mother confirmed that he surrendered without fighting.

I don't know why people still confuse it, Ferelden it's the country and Fereldan it's the people.

The name shows up in subtitles, codices and maps, but even after three games that misspelling is still common.

I just started a Dalish who is not very fond of humans. In fact, the very first action I performed as this character is murdering three humans just because they happened to walk my way. So you say Sten murdered an entire family of worthless shems? He's aces in my book. That said, i am not sure I'll even get that far with this character. I am at Ostagar at the moment and it seems the role I want to play is really stretching the limits of what the game permits. Sure, there is always a "stupid human" dialog option but it seems no one really cares. both the quartermaster and the ash warrior in Ostagar are people I should really slice open for their comments but I can't even try because apparently we are all supposed to be friends and my character plays along even though he shouldn't really care about that battle or the blight that much at this point. After all, it was humans who caused the whole mess with the taint and I only left my clan because the keeper told me to do so, not to fight some shemlen war for them. But so far, I had to compromise my role playing quite a bit to make it fit within the game's options. But whatever, I'll try to stick with it a little longer, Ostagar always makes me want to quit for some reason. If I do manage to go on, I predict that Sten will be a regular party member (probably along with Morrigan and Shale).

For some reason I keep wanting to put an "a" in Ferelden - but it's okay, I even it out by wanting to put an "e" in Ostagar. I know how they're spelled, but it doesn't seems to keep me from misspelling them anyway... I have no idea why

AnDromedary : Sounds like your Dalish and my Dalish would get along just fine I wish there had been even more instances for appropriate (for her) responses, but she was still fun to play. Some liberal use of the murder knife, killing a few companions, was definitely a different sort of playthrough (played her previously on PS3, currently have her just past Lothering on the PC). And yes, Sten was a regular in her party.

Like... supporting the idea of killing all mages in Broken Circle and letting Redcliffe be destroyed by the undead.

I always recruit Sten and Zevran. I consider my Warden the new Duncan. Duncan always believed in giving second chances, just like he did with Daveth (RIP) who tried to rob him.
