I agree, the dialogue between Solas and Dorian is pretty interesting. I must take Cole and Solas in the party more often, I always wanted to know, if Cole knows about Solas true identity. I would think so - it seems, Solas is pretty popular in the Fade and he kind of hurts, a feeling, that Cole can read. About rogues in the group: I always take one with me, because I have stood too often before closed doors. But my Solas-romancing Lavellan is a rogue (my favorite class in all DA games, although mage in DAI is quite nice too), so no problem there And let's not forget, Solas' rogue-specific flirt is clearly the best one. Well, I'll find out . But I had a good laugh about the 'fade-tongue' conversation - that was hilarious

Pshhh, yeah you guys are graceful running around knifing people in the back or sending an arrow to greet their throats, but we mages have an indomitable focus And if it is dominated, Solas will find it fascinating. He wants to see you dominated and if you or your Lavellan have a dirty mind you probably took his comment the wrong way Just in case anyone is interested!

I am not suggesting that your life choices are wrong. No, I am declaring it. It was not a matter for debate. In all seriousness, I completely get the appeal of smooching Fen'Harel as a First, while your Keeper waves her arms in the background yelling "uhhh that is the literal opposite of our job? Have I taught you nothing???" However I still firmly believe that showing dominance is better than telling it, and no one can convince me otherwise. *pirouettes away like a despair demon, flicking daggers at all the mage Lavellans*

I have a fireball with your name on it! MY FOCUS IS INDOMITABLE!-- ooh, Solas fan art! What were we doing again? I actually never really connected that bit of extra drama myself I stumbled over to the Blanketfort after I finished Inquisition and everyone was in various levels of emotional distress and I remember reading someone's comment about First Lavellan and her being awful at her job and I was like "huh?..... ohhhhh, yeaaaaah. Creators, Lavellan, what will your Keeper think?" She let the Dread Wolf take her... *shakes head*. The main appeal I have from the mage Lavellan and Solas pairing us that A. I romanced him with my mage Lavellan, so obviously all the choices I made with her seem to be the best to me and B. I like having the connection of being a mage and knowing the Fade (as much as any regular mage does) with Solas. I think there's something extra special about him opening her eyes to spirits being so much more than she thought when she's spent the better part of her life dealing with them and thinking of them in one way.

I mean, I'm willing to share Solas with rogues, warriors, fellow mages or whomever. Yes, he compliments my Lavellan the best, and he loves her the most, of course, but I can stay friends with everyone regardless of the unfair distribution of his love towards my Lavellan vs yours!

In all seriousness, I completely get the appeal of smooching Fen'Harel as a First, while your Keeper waves her arms in the background yelling "uhhh that is the literal opposite of our job? Have I taught you nothing???" Which becomes even funnier when you remember that the betrayal of Fen'Harel is depicted on a bling ring that Keepers wear. "Ir abelas, Keeper... but he was just so dreamy!"

It's a textbook example of double entendre I giggled like a little girl when I first heard that remark. My Lavellan was probably trying hard not to take that the way she initially envisioned it. I guess part of why I like the rogue line is because my first playthrough was a mage Adaar. So I always think of the first part of the line (the part before a Solasmancer says "indomitable focus?") as a friendly compliment rather than the setup to a line he found on BestPickupLines dot fade. I await the day when I play a friendly non-Solasmancer rogue, and they have to parse the "grace with which you move" line as anything other than flirting. My current Cadash didn't have that problem because Solas H A T E S them.

It was so weird going through my second run of Inquisition and realizing how much of Solas's flirting and special romantic moments was just him being friendly and it was my Lavellan fishing around for compliments and a deeper meaning When my Trevelyan woke up from the Fade meeting with Solas I remember feeling like I was missing something since they hadn't kissed

Blasphemour! Not liking Hamlet! Haha, I am kidding, although I do like Hamlet myself. I haven't read As You Like It. It's one of Shakespeare's comedies, right? There's a lot of Shakespeare I have yet to read. Play format is not my favorite way to absorb a story, and I'm probably too much of an introvert in real life to go and seek out performances of his plays by myself. I will eventually read more of his works, though. When I was younger (middle school aged mostly) I liked to play it cool, so for years I refused to read anything with too much "frivolous" romance or other "stupid" and "girly" things. Yeah, I was that kid... I believe it was my freshman year of high school when my mom bought me a book thinking it was about vampires and werewolves at war with each other (she had read the back of the third one) and so I ended up reading Twilight, so I wouldn't make her feel bad about spending money on something I'd usually turn my nose up at. It started an embarrassing period of being a closet romantic where I'd read absolute trash YA romance in private and scoff at the thought of doing such a thing in public. Cassandra, you understand me so. I'm now at the much matured (hahahaha) point in my life where I've come to accept both sides of myself. I like an interesting plot with a good romance. Too much romance will turn me away, but romance in a story will also draw me in. I'm not ashamed to admit that a big reason I bought Dragon Age: Origins in the first place was because of promised romances. It intrigued me. The most dynamic romance simulation I'd played in an RPG before was wearing an Amulet of Mara around to let some Skyrim people know I was interested in their cold, personality-less bodies. BioWare really showed me how much I was missing! The best romances have all those things you stated. I like trial and hardship between characters in love. I like making them work for a happily ever after through misery and tragedy and misunderstanding, but eventually, I do want them to achieve that happiness-- even if it's not so much a fairytale ending as just another chapter in the story of two people living their lives, with all the bumps that entails, together. The course of true love never did run smooth. I knoooow! *wails* I shall throw myself off a cliff for the sacrilege! It is indeed one of the comedies - in general I'd say that's what I love most from Shakespeare, although his tragedies are breathtaking and I can always count on the romances to be delicious, but I just love a good laugh. As for going to plays - I happened to luck out when I was young because there was a Shakespeare troupe who did amazing and authentic stuff, but later on I didn't go nearly as much as I wanted to. I made a few visits to the opera and one or two school trips but the latter were such a disappointment; in general, I loathe plays that incorporate flighty pop music into classical pieces, but then I'm a total art snob. Hey, I get that totally, I mean I'm a hardcore goth for the most part and I very emphatically rejected girly stuff for a very long time. Though, medievalism, romanticism, tasteful and elegant Victorian style were my thing (with heavy overtones of occasional steampunk/cyberpunk/etc. - OK, so I mixed it up a lot) so I suppose I'm the uh... dark version of a girly girl? That sounded so terrible. *shudders* Twilight is my anathema, I'm a huge fan of old school vampires, I was into that stuff when it was still weird and sect-like and it lost you friends. I had a similar literary evolution, though, I had some guilty pleasures where romances were concerned and since I am a romantic I am unashamed to admit that BioWare basically stole my heart and ran away with it from the moment they introduced RPG romances to my world (I remember the shock, it was so unexpected! This was Neverwinter Nights). But romances for me must have a killer plot. Preferably lots of depth, sometimes angst but definitely serious tones and drama - I was a really introverted melodramatic teenager. It's embarrassing. I agree, true love has never been a smooth ride, as it should be. Sorry for the off-topic, just wanted to share: I've only seen a handful of Shakespeare's plays, but I really love Much Ado About Nothing. It became one of my favorite plays when I saw the Globe Theater rendition on film. The main actor was very good, and the interactions with the audience and little touches made it a lot of fun to watch. Here's a scene from it, sadly not the funniest but it's the best one I can find:
My gods I LOVE Much Ado About Nothing! And also: *team rogue*

And let's not forget, Solas' rogue-specific flirt is clearly the best one. First and only time a character in a video game made me IRL blush. I was so totally not expecting that smooth AF rogue flirt.

And also: *team rogue* I was too concerned about what other people would think of me (probably still am) to do anything cool like have had a dark and edgy phase. I've adored fantasy (vaguely medieval/Victorian/urban, anything) for as long as I've loved reading, but I kept it, and my other nerd loves, to myself for years. The Twilight period... well I wish I could black that out from my memories. I despise everything about those books and all that was spawned from them now, so the memories of obsession for them hurt me. I don't know much about BioWare's older games, I remember my dad and my brother played Baldur's Gate and that was always fun to watch. Eventually, when I have a computer that won't catch fire and laugh at me for running anything more complex than chess on it, I'll have a go at their early games for myself. Origins will always be my perfect little gem that introduced me to romance in games, investment in characters, and a great story, though! As for your being an art snob, I understand completely. I'm an awful book adaptation snob. His hair is supposed to be parted to the right! Gah, this movie is terrible! And my teenage self obviously has to be the more embarrassing one. She liked Twilight!

"Well, I guess I shouldn't rebel against you. We know how that goes. Fighting between the family someone gets sent to the tent, next you know uprising and the world's turned over.""You're not nearly as funny as you think you are. This is a serious situation--" "Yeah, so he just loved sleeping around!""Now, really, this isn't something you can--" "And he wasn't a big fan of tea, but he had a sweet tooth, so I made sure to keep him well s--" "Fenedhis!" "Dirty, Keeper!" "But in all seriousness Keeper...he did have a dreadful sweet tooth."
"....." "You realize you're going to be blacklisted from future Arlathvhens?" "Oh yeah, painfully so."Our poor Keeper somebody get her some Thedas equivalent of aspirin! Also, no regrets Lavellan! I will add no more because that is a perfect finish!
